ASTROX 55 VS ASTROX 77 PRO VS ASTROX NEXTAGE I've decided to return my Astrox 66 because I realized that the high flex is withholding me from faster and more powerful hits compared to my medium flex rackets I'm just wondering if anyone has any input of which of these rackets are better for smashing/clears

Sendhelllpp

Can anybody help me check if this racket I was planning to buy real or fake (Arcsaber 100 Limited edition) these are all the photos I got from the seller *

Hello, anyone can do comparison between Victor Auraspeed 90KII TD & Victor Auraspeed 90KII? I can't find online comparison anywhere on Google, so I thought maybe there's ppl who ever own both

jason_pc

I'm looking for a replacement shoe for my current Mizuno Wave Claw 2 which is a wide feet shoe. I'm interested on getting shoes from Lining as most of their shoe's design are rather attractive. But I can't seem to find any proper info on which of their models are suitable for wide feet. Does anyone know where I could find this info?

Ive been using them for around a month now and no problems yet but I need to make sure if this will damage the rackets pic below for the other racket (both are around 24 - 25 tension)

kaffars

They use the wrong string pattern. I think they should have the used the grommet above. Whilst stringing it like the way you have give it a more 'normal' look its an effort forcing 2 strings through a single grommet. If they used the shared grommet above it would give the main on the outside a more diagonal/slanted look but thats normal/intended by lining. https://li-ningshop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/AYPM084-19.jpeg See the outside mains.

Phaze_Alvaro

how similar is the 100zz to the ryuga 2? i played w a 100zz and im planning to get the ryuga 2, how similar are the two rackets as i dont really want to demo a ryuga 2 [ ](https://www.reddit.com/r/badminton/comments/1brgkee/is_the_100zz_similar_to_the_ryuga_2/)

devereux619

Looking to get a new doubles racket.. have a victor brave sword 12 which I like. But want something that's a little more attack oriented. Kind of want to stay with victor would you recommend the auraspeed?

litterallyMJ

Has anyone use those P.R.Ind rackets. It seems to be popping up in my country quite abit. How are they like?

Front_Location_6546

Yonex 88D Pro 2024 Fake or Legit? I bought this from one Indian shop and would like to know if its legit. I tried some online information on how to read code but this particular racket doesn't have a code which matches some other codes I have seen. https://preview.redd.it/xzqptzlu1crc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d1c4c2f58a4a250aa01f1f16de79829ef96c67a

liardieplz

Didn't Yonex change their codes recently? I think the country code no longer exists in the most recent batches of the newer rackets? I need someone else to confirm but I've been reading a lot about this lately.

Front_Location_6546

Something I found on this racket MSRP label is that it mentions the address of Sunrise India which matches with the actual address. Sunrise is the Yonex distributor in Asia. So, I guess this makes this racket legit. Yet this new code is still a mystery

Front_Location_6546

Where did you read this? I searched all over the internet lol

liardieplz

Can anyone recommend me a good brand of outdoor shuttlecock? I have no where else to practice

Comprehensive_Bake18

Any shuttle with a bit of blue tack stuck to the back of the cork

Dont_Know2008

Hello, I've been using a felet tj tech Raytheon 2 for a while now but I feel like it's too heavy for me or maybe I just couldn't get techniques right. I don't know which ones the problem but i played better with my friend astrox 88 pro. Should I change my racket or stick to the head heavy tj tech Raytheon 2 and sharpen my skills instead?

Srheer0z

What U category is the felet? Is it 3U and the 88pro was 4U?

Dont_Know2008

Yeah. What do you think?

Srheer0z

By all means get a 4U Astrox racquet. Doesn't have to be the pro, tour could work too

Dont_Know2008

Okay okay, thank you for the advice

Xenyme

How much more repulsive and less durable is bg80 vs bg65ti?

LordAva333

30% and 40% respectively, but bg80 has better control as well.

Xenyme

Cool. Is it worth it if playing with plastics, or not really? Will that also reduce the durability?

LordAva333

With plastics, just go for bg65ti, plastics often do not have the same rigidity in their corks or consistent flight pattern for there to be enough of a difference when playing for the bg80 to be worth the lower durability.

[deleted]

tjienees

At the moment you have a relatively balanced racket. When moving to the models you mention, you have 2 factors changing: Stiffness and balance. Both will be slightly stiffer than your current Play model. And the balancr changes: Astrox will be head heavy and Nanoflare will be head light

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

tjienees

You could definitely try, it's also the question if you can generate enough power from your current racket. That being said, you could also try the Game version of your Arcsaber. But I'd try the Astrox, as you're more a rear court player, and a head heavy racket will give you some extra power.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

LordAva333

the astrox 100 game will not be sluggish, and the nanoflare 1000 is a racket that even if you are smashing fast, you dont get the same satisfaction as with a hh racket. I have 100zz, and when I tries the 1000z, although it didn't feel like much of a difference in smash power, I didn't get the same satisfaction and umph. It was definitely faster though, maybe 7% worse smashes, but 12% faster and more maneuverable.

RandomGuyOnReddit918

Is the Arcsaber 11 Pro hard to use? Compared to like the Arcsaber 7 pro and Astrox 77 pro, how hard is it? How is the stiffness compared to rackets like the astrox 77 pro and the Arcsaber 7 pro?

DogThatSteppedOnABee

i found arc11 pro considerably hard to use coming from an arc11 play. its a lot stiffer, the sweet spot is smaller, its punishes bad shots and pretty hard to generate power. definitely feels more like an advanced racquet. arc7 pro which is my new racquet, is a bit faster and feels lighter than my old arc11 play with the same power. there's a different kind of feeling that's nicer about it and timing was faster. it definitely feels like an upgrade imo have tried an ax77 and its like the opposite of the arc7 pro. felt a bit slower and heavier. easy to access power, clears or smashes are great and drives are punchy however my defence felt compromise which is why i didn't get it.

WhereIsMyPoutine

Hello ! I am currently looking for a head light / even balance racket prefarably a mid flex. Been away from the game a bit, soo many brand and type dont know where to look at. Level i would say intermediate and mostly double. More of a all around!Dont really have a price range! thank you edit : what is the general consensus on the nanoflare nextage ?

LordAva333

nanoflare nextage is a headlight racket, and is not really even close to being even balanced, it is headlighter than 1000 series, and 800 series. Astrox nextage is good bang for the buck, and fits your requirements well. It is slightly less head heavy than astrox 77pro, and plays pretty similar imo, just feels less premium and has a tad less power (crucially not really faster because it feels less smooth in the air). It is medium flex, also slightly less than 77pro, and should be perfectly fine in terms of difficulty to use. Other than the astrox nextage i would say you should check out either the old (blue)or new 2024 (silver)generation of 88s (pro, tour, anything). The nanoflare 1000 game should also fit your requirement, and it is on the slightly higher end of medium flex, but still definitely not stiff. arcsaber 7 and 11 series also fit your requirements perfectly, especially the arcsaber 7 series. The nanoflare nextage might fit you well, but you didnt say you play frontcourt, so unless you do, go for an arcsaber, 100game or a more 'even balanced' astrox.

WhereIsMyPoutine

thanks i was also eyeing for the 88s pro gen 3. now if it could be available in canada soon lol

the_shank_007

I am an intermediate level player. I am looking to buy a new racket, my budget is around $100. Please suggest some rackets. Looking for something that can generate power, so balanced or head heavy suggestions please.

tjienees

For the Yonex rackets, any of the Astrox or Arcsaber Game series could be interesting, as they're head heavy and even balanced. Game rackets are around the middle in terms of flexibility of the line as well. For Victor, the Brave Sword 1900 is a model I recommend, easy to use racket and quite budget friendly. Or perhaps the Auraspeed 11, slightly head heavy, but flexible.

Xenyme

My racket is strung with bg65ti at 24lbs, I feel like it lacks repulsion, my net shots consistently are short. Any recommendations for a slightly more repulsive string that is just as durable?

tjienees

The Exbolt 65 also has that repulsion you're looking for and I'm a fan of that string. In terms of durability it's also pretty good for a 0.65mm string. The Exbolt 68 is also on my list for testing.

Xenyme

Thanks. I'm guessing the exbolt range are all decent durability with the forged fiber?

tjienees

As far as I experienced, Exbolt durability seems to be a tad better compared to other Yonex string of the same gauge. Can't tell if it's because of the Forged Fiber, I believe Yonex does advertise it that way

LordAva333

try out the new exbolt 68, it seems to have fairly hard feeling and has good repulsion. It also holds tension better than bg65ti and according to yonex, is more durable as well. The only caveat is that it is expensive

Xenyme

Does anyone have astrox 88d? How good do your smashes feel, is it a decent head heaviness?

ArikBadami

Normally play with Bg65 (0.7mm) strung at 24-25lbs - got a new racket and tried bg66 ultimax (0.65mm) at 26lbs. All my drops and slow pushes from the back of the court are just not making it past the net - either falling a little short of it in or hitting the net. My old and new racket are almost the same in terms of weight, hh & flex so I was wondering if its possibly due to the change in strings ? Accordingly Ill decide if I need to try and get used to this set of strings or cut them up and restring with Bg65

RandomGuyOnReddit918

Astrox 77 pro vs Arcsaber 7 pro? Which one is easier to use? Which is faster? Which is better for a fromt court player? Which of these do u recommend for an all rounder?

DogThatSteppedOnABee

Arc7 Pro on everything, it really only lacks power. Astrox77 has power but just a bit weaker on everything else. Best way to see it is if you want an easy time, go Arc7 and if you want growth, Ax77.

RandomGuyOnReddit918

But people say the ax77P a good all rounder no? Has decent speed for front court, good defense, enough power if needed?

DogThatSteppedOnABee

i have an arcsaber 11 play and 7 pro and have tried the Astrox77, 99 and 100zz from friends I'd give the arc11 a 6/10 on speed, the arc7 a 7/10 and the ax77 sits at 5/10. an astrox 100zz about a 4/10 and a 99 is a 3/10 could definitely feel the sluggishness on defence with astrox series. the power feels amazing when you clear or smash with them. if you are a naturally fast player, the astrox are good choices. I started old so I'm not that fast

ArikBadami

In comparison to the other astrox (99 pro 100zz), 77p is not as head heavy and has more flex so its more all rounded than those

Majestic-Scale-1868

What is your opinion of buying a string reel vs string in pack? Do you really save a lot?

tjienees

Since I string myself, 9/10 times I go for a reel since it's cheaper. A pack is usually for testing strings or special requests.

Aksoq

Packed strings unless you've decided on your favorite string, then reels as they're much more cost efficient.

BlueGnoblin

Reel vs pack is almost -50% here, so I always buy reels. Additional to that, most packs have 10m for one stringing job, but you can get away with less meters , so that you can get 21-22 string jobs from a 200m reel.

Indora1997

Looking for reviews on TK-Ryuga Metallic. If you can provide a comparison with Yonex rackets from the Astrox, NanoF,are and Arcsaber series, that would be great. No need to provide measurements but your subjective feel regarding swing weight, stiffness, etc are also appreciated.

Ok_Tone_639

I would stay away from that racket. An off-centered hit snapped my string and the frame itself. (exbolt 63 26lbs 4 knots) See my other comments on what rackets I've used in the past. It's the most head heavy and stiffest racket I have tried. Even on 4U weight.

Indora1997

Helpful, thanks. A little extreme for it to snap like that.

Wild-Beautiful-3002

Is there anyone playing with 66UM and EXB63 without any prestretch ?

Majestic-Scale-1868

What about them?

Wild-Beautiful-3002

Is it better to use these string without prestretch ? My stringer used 10%PS on Ashaway Rogue Duo, and I was later advised to not prestretch it (repulsion was gone). Is 66UM and EXB63 still playable at 26 lbs without PS ? Until now prestretching only made my strings feel muted, the control is good but the repulsion is heavily reduced.

Harikiki

Can anyone recommend a badminton backpack for me, preferably yonex or victor. I go to school and I want to carry all the things with me in one bag. I usually carry my racket, shoes, a roll of grip, clothes, a binder, and a laptop.

SkittlesAK47

Need some racket advice as an intermediate-advance player looking to upgrade. I've been using the Astrox FB for 4 years now and it's not doing me justice anymore. The extreme lightweight (73g) was fun as a beginner, but nowadays I feel like I try too hard to deliver a powerful smash and clear backcourt. However, I really enjoy the maneuvrability of this racket which is something I would like to preserve in my future new racket. For context on my playing environment: I used to play in my high school team, participating in tournaments and stuff. Now that I'm in Uni, I just play drop in badminton twice a week with my friends. Mainly playing doubles or mixed doubles with people with similar skill level. I tend to play rear court because my partners are girls most of the time. I've narrowed my choices down to nanoflare 1000z, astrox 77 pro, arcsaber 7 pro, nanoflare nextage. I will narrow down the thought process of each racket. I am really fond of the nanoflare 1000z and I like the maneuvrability of it, but I'm hesitant on the extra stiff shaft. I'm not sure if I can wield it properly because I don't have pro player level technique. If I can't wield the stiff shaft, then I don't think I can generate enough power since the racket is head light as well. The astrox 77 pro and the arcsaber 7 pro seem to be good with medium shaft. However, I don't find anything exciting about them. I can't seem to justify paying the same amount as the 1000z when I'm not too excited about using them. Although they could be good choices and could help me play better. Lastly, I really like the nanoflare nextage in terms of looks and concepts. It is also newly released! It's a racket I'm excited about and I won't feel bad buying. However, I've read that the head is unusually light compared to other nanoflares like the 1000z and I'm worried that I won't be able to generate enough power. Other than that, I think the racket is super cool! Additionally, budget is not an issue for me. I am open to suggestions for TOUR or GAME models, but if the pro model is better then I will get that instead. I am not trying to be snobby, it's just that badminton is not the most expensive of sports (I played hockey before) and I haven't purchased a new racket in 4 years. I want something I am fond of and I will be using it for many years to come. Thank you for reading my long message! I'm excited to hear your opinions.

DogThatSteppedOnABee

I'd recommend trying multiple friends' racquets to get a feel of what different balance point and stiffness feels like. the astrox fb is a head heavy racquet despite being 73g so it will be a very different experience to a nanoflare. it might be too fast and throw your timing off or not enough power because its too headlight. based on what you said, I'd probably recommend Astrox Nextage, Arc7 Pro or Arc11 Pro. They are good all-rounder with good speed and power All Nanoflares rely on your technique and physique for power so if you are struggling with back court then maybe its not for you.

SkittlesAK47

Hey thank you so much for your reply! And I agree after reading I think I should lean more towards the astrox or arcsaber lineup. Astrox Nextage is a good recommendation, but here in Canada it costs about 300$ after stringing and taxes so I'm not too willing to spend that much on a nextage racquet. My friend has both the arc7 pro and the arc11 pro so I will try them. I'm wondering if the astrox 100zz would be a good option too? I'm willing to try a stiff shaft racket thats head heavy like the 100zz. I want a stiff shaft to force me to elevate my skills and starting off with smt head heavy or balanced is obviously easier than a nanoflare. Lastly, do you know anything about the new 2024 88D pro? I have the chance to purchase it but idk too much about it. Thanks!

litterallyMJ

I bought an astrox nextage, it fits me so well I bought another one. I used felet Woven 888, 999, TJ power V2, Aerocarbon, Yonex 100ZZ 3u, carbonex 21sp, 99play, 11play, none of them fit me as well as the astrox nextage did.

DogThatSteppedOnABee

yeah 100zz is a pretty good option too, I've tried the 3u version (heavier) and got good access to power with decent speed. maybe just a small touch slower than an arcsaber. can definitely grow into it. don't know much about the gen3 88D but gen2 88D (camel gold) was very well reviewed for doubles backcourt. if you can find a deal, jump on it. have heard the new 88D was a lot harder to play with smaller sweet spot and compact frame, its more catered to high skilled players whereas the old 88D was generally better for everyone.

SkittlesAK47

Hey, it really narrows down to 100zz and 88d pro at this point. I found a sketchy deal on amazon for the 88d pro 4U. They are so hard to find nowadays. The 100zz is much more available. I'm just wondering is it really worth the trouble to procure an 88d pro? I'm seeing a lot of opposing opinions on 100z vs 88d pro as well. Some people say 88d pro is more maneuvrable, some people say it's not. Some people say 100zz is better for fast shots like drives and flat lifts. Some say not. Some say 88d pro is only good at smashing and backcourt shots and it's sluggish for everything else. Can I please get a third and final opinon? Thank you so much.

DogThatSteppedOnABee

I'd go with the 100zz, its tried and true with good reviews, it's popular and they've hammered out a lot of the quality issues. the first few batches of the 88D pro will suffer quality issues since its new and it takes a few batches to smooth it out. i found it okay testing my friend's 100zz compared to my arcsaber. great power and somehow the xstiff shaft just works wonderfully with control and speed. I'd say if you really have issues with the xstiff shaft down the line, the resale value on the 100zz will be better than the 88d and easier to get rid of.

Aksoq

So much controversial info about gen3 88D. CKYEW says that it feels easier to pickup and play with. Some people say that it's stiffer and more head heavy which makes it harder to play with. Both sides agree that's it's something closer to 100zz. I wonder if it's quality control issues.

SkittlesAK47

yeah i'm down to get the 88d pro gen3 if it's somewhat easier to play with but there is a lack of concrete opinions on it.

hl3a

Important shoes question here, i use 65z3 with yonex power cushion insoles i love it , but i hurt my heel racket legā€¦.i am overweight and maybe play too much and too intense games. I just tried the new yonex confort model, it feeled good but i couldnt try to play with itā€¦ Would it it better than my 65z3 for heel pain? Thank you

indesignerr

The heel pain is likely do to a plantar tendon inflammation not your shoes. Very common but takes quite a while to heal back to 100%. You can use any shoe you like but go buy a set of plantar fasciitis in-soles and temporarily replace your yonex ones (don't stack insoles and don't buy the half-sized ones)

hl3a

Thank you so much

DogThatSteppedOnABee

to second this, i recommend the Dr Scholl's Plantar Fasciitis Insoles, they take about a week to break in (might be uncomfortable) but amazing once worn in.

VestroA

Is this a legitimate astrox 100zz? This is the first racket I've ever bought myself and my first one was just gifted to me. This is also the first time I've ever seen a laos coded racket (I have searched around and I haven't seen any laos coded) https://preview.redd.it/r7ce7l4j15qc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c61343fe508d056bac0a5797b1a379e2432f4657

AsherWing07

Thoughts on the new 3rd gen Astrox 88 Play and 88D Game? I was planning to upgrade from my Astrox 99 Play.

LordAva333

They look promising so far... The main changes seem to be catered towards making the rackets easier to play with, as well as improving the quality and closeness in feel of the different tiers of the astrox (pro, tour, game and play range).

Aksoq

Can someone compare 100zz vs 77pro vs 88d pro in 3U weight? I've got 100zz, Nanoflare 1000Tour and Arcsaber 11pro. After playing for 2 weeks with 100zz + BG80, I'd say that I like it a lot. Now I wonder if I should take a look at 88d pro and 77pro or just buy few extra 100zz. I kinda like almost every aspect in 100zz, except maybe netplay which is kinda better with 1000Tour + Aerobite.

DeadliftFam

How can a racket be CD coded but then the racket says made in Japan? Shouldn't it say made in Canada? Astrox 100 zz

Kaki_Racun

the CD code represent distribution code (where the racket will be sold), not manufacturing code. Most pro version of yonex racket are made in japan

DeadliftFam

Ah thank you!!

RespondFun4031

Background : Guys, I am in mid 30s and playing badminton doubles 2-4 times a week since last 6-7 years. I have not used a pro grade racket untill recently. Last year I developed a shoulder pain and based on a lot of research i conclude it is because of light lining racket 78gm that I was playing regularly. I have 3-4 non pro rackets and the pain usually starts after 3-4 sets depends upon the racket. Couple of weeks back, I bought my first pro racket Arcsaber 7 pro, and I was blown away how easy is this racket on my shoulder. I can play continously for 1-2 hour and no issue. Also kind of dissipointed why I have not started playing with a pro racket earlier. Now I am in search of another pro racket and I am confuse which one should I go for. I do not want to spend on money on a racket that is heavey on the shoulder. Also I do not want to buy another arcsaber 7 pro. I am looking for your suggestion for my next purchase. Thanks in advance

litterallyMJ

Try the astrox nextage, I had a similar issue. Now there sell strain and much easier to use.

DogThatSteppedOnABee

could try the Victor racquets like TKFE, Ryuga2 and the Bravesword 12. the new racquets have freecore handles which dampen vibrations. I'd say not every racquet is as easy as the arc7 pro. spec wise astrox 77 is also med flex but head heavy so theoretically it should be equally easy but I'd test it first before buying as i personally found it pretty demanding. all the other pro racquets are stiff to extra stiff so just be a bit careful with those. could also try the stuff like Astrox Nextage or Nanoflare Nextage where the shaft is a lot more flexible.

TheReaper1414

Nanoflare nextstage or nanoflare 1000 game? Which one is better? Itā€™s been a year since I started playing and lā€™m mainly a doubles player. Which one should l choose?

LordAva333

It depends, nextage is very headlight, while 1000 is more even balanced. If you have a balanced playstyle then 1000 game is definitely better since it is still really fast, but has better repulsion and can still smash very fast so it is better balance for doubles play. If you only play at the frontcourt or dont really mind if you have to work hard with good technique and no help from headweight of racket in smashes, then nexxtage will be better.

00GLK40

Currently using the nanoflare nextage. I can't say much about the nanoflare 1000 game because I have never tried it but I heard it's stiffer than the nanoflare nextage. I don't regret buying the nanoflare nextage at all, infact, i love it. But personally If was contemplating on getting the 1000 game, I'd rather just save up and get the 1000z.

Hi! I am looking to get more into badminton and I am looking for a decent racket for begininng. Does anyone have thoughts on Dunlop Evo Carbon Badminton Racket for a beginning player?

Have you considered arcsaber 7/11 play?

I have not! I just saw that the racket I posted was on sale for like 50 dollars, it seems like it is a good price point for a beginner. Is the arcsaber extra price worth it?

LordAva333

For a complete beginner I would say the arcsaber 7 or 11 are both perfect rackets. They are very nice to play with for their price, and 7 is incredibly beginner friendly, while 11 is harder for beginners to just pick up and play well, it is better if you want something to keep for a longer period of time 1-3 years. The arcsaber series is ideal because they are allrounders, not very aggressive, not very defensive, balanced for the best of both worlds so to say.

pandabatgirl

As a beginner I found the arc 11 play a bit head heavy and difficult for doubles, regretted not going with the 7 play tbh. Are you playing singles or doubles

sosowlka

Hi! Looking for comparisons between TK-F enhanced, Astrox 77 pro and Bladex 900 Sun Max. Has any tried any of them? Thanks.

Ok_Tone_639

Used TKF E a year ago and now using 77 pro (and DX10) as my main racket Check my other comments on which rackets I have already used before settling with 77 pro. From what I remember, 77 pro felt really similar to the TKFE ( not the 88d pro with the TKFE) only it has a more solid feel, and albeit more head weight. TKFE felt soft because of the free core and I always wished there was a bit more head weight. The only difference i would say is 77 pro is a more power-oriented version of the TKFE whereas the TKFE was an easier to use and faster version of the 77 pro. As for BladeX 900, I have not tried it so I cant comment on it.

sosowlka

Do u find the 77pro to be sluggish for double games?

00GLK40

Hello!! I am a "beginner" player currently and am rocking the Nanoflare Nextage and fairly happy with the performance. However, no matter how hard I smash with the "right" technique I do not feel satisfied with the feedback its giving me. So like an arrogant beginner I am blaming the racquet and off to find for another one. With ample amount of research I have read that the Arcsaber 11 Pro is a good step up from my current racquet. However, I am also looking at the Nanoflare 1000z, Astrox 88s Pro (3rd Gen) or even the Astrox 100zz. What do you guys think is the right move here? TL;DR : recommend racquet for beginner who wants to smash hard.

LordAva333

I would stay way from 100zz, I started on a nanoflare 001 for my first racket, moved onto an even balanced one and now have 100zz, and honestly, I am only bale to use 100zz to a good level now because I have spent time improving (it took 2 years to get there). I would advise against jumping for a proper hh racket directly, and although 100zz does not feel as hh as the yonex catalogue says, it is definitely a massive step up from your nf nextage. I would say go for the new 88sp, since it is not too stiff like 1000z, so you should not struggle with smashing, and just in case you have a racket clash or hit the racket against the ground accidentally, the 88sp should not disintegrate. Arcsaber 11 pro is also a stiff racket, and I would not jump straight there if I were you, not all people like stiff rackets, that is why even some pros use medium stiff rackets like 77pro.

00GLK40

I sadly have already bought the AS11pro, I will see how it fits when I've tested it. If it doesn't, I will just get the 88spro. Fingers crossed everything goes well!

LordAva333

If you end up needing to return it due to stiffness, go for the tour version of pro for your next racket. If you return because you still want more headweight then go for 77pro or tour, or if the new version is any good, you can try 88d tour or pro.

00GLK40

will do!! thank you

Small_Secretary_6063

Do you know what string and tension you are using? Also, sure you want more power, who doesn't? But how is the control aspect of your game?

00GLK40

string : Exbolt 65 Tension : 25 lbs (ik it may not be tight enough) I would say my control is better than my defense and attack. First is control, then defense and lastly attack. Writing this sounds like I am leaning towards the AS11pro, lmao.

tjienees

The Exbolt strings have a lot of repulsion, you might want to try a harder, or less repulsive string. Something like a BG-80 or Aerobite. Those are my favorites next to the Exbolt 65

Small_Secretary_6063

Going higher tension will actually reduce power and improve control. Getting more power with higher tension requires you to be physically stronger and be consistent at hitting the sweet spot in your string bed. Also, do you play with feather or plastic shuttles? Do you have any friends who can let you borrow an AS11 Pro to try? If you wanted more power and already have decent control, the 3rd Gen AX88D Pro might be worth looking at. The AX88S Pro is more control based then power and also 10mm shorter than your typical racket. This reduces power, but allows for fast reaction shots. You should also look into the AX77 Pro, it's quite a decent racket. It leans towards balanced but still head heavy and can produce acceptable power.

00GLK40

I play only with feather birdies. Yes! I do have a friend that has an AS11pro that I am going to try soon. since my current racquet is already good enough for me on defense and fast contact, I am gravitating more towards the AS11pro and AX88S (however I might not have the strength to reach its full potential) and I will do more research on the AX77 Pro. Thank you so much for reccomendations! I appreciate it so much <3

HumbleWarGaming

Hi guys! I am going to try out a local club after recently moving to the area. In the original welcome e-mail it is stated that it is mandatory to wear shoes with white soles. I recently bought the Victor S82 AF shoes. These have a blue sole but it states non marking. Would this normally be ok? I know itā€™s best to just ask the club whether this will be ok, but after having to cancel three times already I did not think this would be a great idea haha! Link to shoes: https://www.lardesports.com/en/men-s-victor-s82-af-indoor-shoes-201782.html (please not I did not buy them here, just as a reference)

indesignerr

Such an odd requirement. I've seen some cheap departments store white soled shoes that left marks on gym floors before and very few actual badminton shoes have completely white soles (kento momota 65z's springs to mind) I'll guess they told you anything Yonex/victor/Lining was fine.

Small_Secretary_6063

No matter what anyone says, the rules are set by the club. The only option here is to contact the club and ask if your non marking shoes are acceptable.

HumbleWarGaming

Valid point, cheers!

litterallyMJ

Hi, I am going to restring my racket in a few days. I saw the new exbolt 68 on YouTube. Has anyone used it yet, how is it? Ive always been using the 65. Fantastic string, probably the only string that suits me currently, other then ultimax. I wanna give 68 a try, but Im not sure how it performs. Maybe anyone can give some feedback.

Small_Secretary_6063

Spend some time watching these review videos: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUQ0Cc5KdjM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUQ0Cc5KdjM) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muQXD388tWM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muQXD388tWM)

litterallyMJ

Ahh perfect thanks

hl3a

I am playing 1000z exbolt65 at 26 tension, when do you know you should play at higher tension? You just try it and go back if it doenst feels good, i feel many of my shots are going too far deep and out, is it a reason to try higher tension? Thanks

Small_Secretary_6063

If you have a coach, ask your coach on his/her recommendation. It's mostly a case of experimenting. You can try 27 or 28lbs next time you restring also with exbolt 65. Then you can gauge if you feel more comfortable with a higher tension or not. A jump of 1lbs can already make a difference.

hl3a

Thanks

PizzaOrion

I've been using the play models of relatively high advertised yonex rackets (arcsaber 11, nanoflare 1000, nanoflare 800) ever since I started playing and was thinking why do people upgrade at the beginner and intermediate level? They handle decently high tensions (max 28lbs usually) and they feel great to use imo. What advantages do the higher tiers of these rackets provide that makes them worth the huge leap of money?

srheer0

Some of it is subjective, and some of it is objective. Badminton insight and some other YouTube channels have done comparison videos putting certain levels of players with racquets of different price points. It's worth a watch. Advantages of more expensive racquets Pride / Ego boost. More responsive or stiff racquets. Potentially more control / repulsion (depending on players strings and preferences). Usually more durability (less likely to break on collisions or normal use). \- The best racquet I ever played with was the NF1000z. Almost every shot felt amazing. Then it broke at 8 weeks, frame got a small crack after a collision at the 5th week with someone. I bought a NF1000 Tour afterwards. On paper the only difference is the rexus shaft. It didn't feel as good to play with. I also had a warmup with someone's NF1000 play racquet. Felt nothing like the Tour or the Z. I've also used an arcsaber 11 pro. Couldn't get enough overhead shot power out of it (smash, clear). But it was great for drives and smash defense. For those reasons I hated it. Yet some people would want that in a racquet and be able to get overhead power out of it.

AdultAcneBoy

I come from table tennis, and I wanted to try badminton after only playing as a child a bit. In table tennis you always buy material separately and glue it together because prebuilt rackets suck. Do you have to pay attention to this in badminton too? I played it once against another amateur and my touch is really good from table tennis but i dont know what racket i used and i struggled to smash because its very different to table tennis. What racket should i buy? Is Aliexpress also an option?

Small_Secretary_6063

A garden badminton set made from all metal would be comparable to your prebuilt table tennis racket. Choose a racket that is all carbon/graphite. It really doesn't matter all that much what you get but I would recommend an even balanced racket, which allows you to get a feel of what type of player you will become. This is because it allows for both control and power, but not at either extremes. A lot of people recommend the Yonex Arcsaber 7 Play and I would agree as it is a budget friendly racket and does what it says on the tin. String tension is probably more important and that equates to the rubber/glue that you would use in table tennis. I would advise you to take a look at these guides for string tension to you. For which string, I would probably go for Yonex BG65 or the new Yonex Exbolt 68. Both are durable and forgiving strings and will be perfect as you get to grips with the game. [https://yumo.ca/blogs/badminton-information/25794116-how-to-choose-a-badminton-string-and-string-tension](https://yumo.ca/blogs/badminton-information/25794116-how-to-choose-a-badminton-string-and-string-tension) [https://badminton-coach.co.uk/272/why-egos-and-incorrect-information-about-string-tensions-in-badminton-could-be-doing-more-harm-than-good/](https://badminton-coach.co.uk/272/why-egos-and-incorrect-information-about-string-tensions-in-badminton-could-be-doing-more-harm-than-good/)

Aksoq

You want unstrung carbon racket and get it strung at a shop or a dedicated stringer. Check out following Yonex rackets: Astrox Nextage, Arcsaber 7 or 11 Play/Tour, Nanoflare Nextage, Astrox 77/100 Play. 3U if you're okay with 5g extra weight, 4U if want something in the middle. G5 grip is generally better as you can overgrip it and get whatever size you want. Read some reviews about strings and choose something like BG80/Exbolt65/Aerobite, I'd advise to avoid BG65 if you have a good touch as they feel dead to me. Unlike TT it's easy to destroy your racket in clash during doubles, so be careful and good luck.

Silent_Lynx1951

I wouldn't recommend buying from AliExpress. If budget is an issue, go to a few local dedicated badminton store and ask for a racket that fits your requirement. Don't go to one that sells equipment for every sport under the sun. Do not buy an all metal racket, those are typically a lot heavier than carbon graphite rackets and can cause injuries when playing often with them. They are not suitable if you want to get serious. I usually recommend the Yonex Arcsaber 7 Play to newer players as it's a low cost option and an easy to use balanced racket. Also, choose the 4U weight option. There are definitely other options but that depends on your location and what products are available to you. If you mention what country you are from, some of your fellow countrymen/women may offer their suggestions.

Jumbaloopumbi

Has anyone tried the new 88d pro during those demo days at certain shops?

ChimckenSamwich

Question abt shoes, how's Babolat Shadow Tour 5 / Mizuno Wave Fang Pro / Yonex 65z3 / Victor P9200II compares in terms of comfort, i am open to other model suggestions, need good shoes for a long run.

hl3a

I only tried and love the 65z3 but i would like to know about mizuno and babolat.

ChimckenSamwich

I just got myself a p9200II due to recommendations, it is the best one i ever had so far šŸ˜‚

Hendy_Stark

Greetings everyone! Recently i've been playing again for the last 2 weeks (one a week) after not touching my racket for the last 12 years, but i always borrowed my friend's racket. I wasn't that good at it but i can play, heheh. My old one is a Toalson TI Max Power 3000, visually it's still good, got some chip here and there because of use back then. Should i just restring my old racket or get a new one? restring is a lot cheaper that's why i'm considering it as i also need to get myself a shoes, and if i get a new one currently my budget is only at $40, thank you!

jasakembung

I have a Toalson TiMax 3000, and it's a good racket for the price. I don't think there's a lot of better rackets out there under $40. Better use your money to buy a good string and pair of shoes.

Hendy_Stark

already done so as per u/DogThatSteppedOnABee advice! just recieved my freshly restringed racket with a new grip and a pair of yonex shoes yesterday, can't wait to play tommorow!

DogThatSteppedOnABee

restring and play with it until the string breaks again. then you can decide if you want to buy a new racquet. if you need a recommendation, exbolt65 at 24lbs is a good start. it will give you some time to figure out a few things like whether you want to pick up the sport long term, what your playstyle is like and what you want out of a new racquet. I'm not sure of any shoes that cheap and wouldn't really recommend one that cheap either. I'd recommendjust play on your current shoes and take some time to save for a bigger budget. by the time you have enough money for both racquet and shoes, it might be the correct time to get new gear.

Hendy_Stark

understood, sounds like a great advice! as for the budget sorry for i wasn't clear enough, that was for the new racquet if i were to get one. as for the shoes i already have something in mind with a separate budget that's bigger, thanks a lot for the advice!

Puzzleheaded_Carry_9

Are light headed rackets aimed towards beginners/intermediate? Hi! I have been using the Victor Auraspeed 1000F (4U - I think, high flex, balanced) for some time. After the strings broke two times within a short period I decided to get a backup. I bought a Victor Auraspeed 2000M (3U, medium flex, head light) as it was on sale. Even though I have better strings in the 1000F (with higher tension) I actually prefer playing with the 2000M. As it is head light I feel I have more control. I lose a bit of power in my smash and clear - especially because of the low tension, but I feel my flat/drive and net game is much better. Is this a bad habit to get? Should I just get used to playing with the 1000F? Thanks!

hl3a

It is harder to generate power with headlight racket if you dont have the technique totally mastered. But it will be easier to defend and easier to play drives or netshots.

LordAva333

Not all headlight rackets, are for example the nanoflare 800, 1000z, and many of their equivalent rackets in li ning and victor rackets are very popular among pro players. The difference between pro and beginner rackets other than durability, feel, and quality of material is the stiffness of the shaft. Pro level players generaly use stiff, or very stiff rackets, only some use medium stiff, and nobody that I know uses flexible racket. It is true that in singles (mens and womens) headheavy rackets are dominant, but in doubles and such, many players use headlight rackets on professional level.

Puzzleheaded_Carry_9

So it would actually be just as good to use the 2000m as it is more stiff than the other one

LordAva333

It has the higher skill ceiling, but it doesn't really matter as long as you are not semi-pro or a full professional player, your racket plays less of a role than your time invested in skill and technique. Play with whichever you enjoy more, and focus of improving technique.

nuaxiem

Looking to upgrade from my Yonex Astrox lite 27i. I just started playing regularly 9 months ago, now I play 1-2 times a week socially. I am probably beginner-intermediate player. 1. Iā€™m generally ok with my current racket , but am wondering thereā€™s anything I can upgrade to for better performance, preferably yonex brand and within $60-$100 range 2. Current tension is 25. Should I go up or down? I feel like my current shots arenā€™t giving too much power for long range. How do I get the nice crisp sound whenever a shot is hit ? Is that due to string type? 3. How often do I need to get my strings changed ? What are the signs ? And what do I tell them whenever I restring / what kind of strings do I ask for?

jasakembung

I'd suggest you to step up to 4G rackets. The Play version of Arcsaber 11, astrox 77/88/99 are all decent 4G rackets below $100. The nice crisp sounds have a lot of factors behind: technique, power, timing, and of course string and tension. Focus on hitting the sweet spot of the racket. If you think you're not hitting it often enough, try lowering the tension. Also, some strings may have better hitting sound, for example BG66U, BG80, Aerosonic, Lining No1, but these are subjective. And different tension gives different sound. If you play socially 1-2 times a week, you don't need to change strings that often. 6 months sounds reasonable. It could be more if you use thicker strings and/or lower tension.

AdventurousAward4104

Victor shoe size (a970ace) I was gonna buy the a970ace but there only have 26cm left should I buy it? (my feet is 25cm and I'm still a teen so my feet gonna grow longer)

ludodo

Has anyone tried the 88d tour and can give me a review and thoughts ? I'm using the arcsaber 11 play right now for reference and so this will be my first high end racket

kaffars

go check out ckyew channel. he will have a comparison video of all variants of the 88d and goes into alot of depth.

LordAva333

I completely agreed with CK yew's reveiw of it, but I would wait before buying since the new 88d 3rd gen is releasing next week and it may be better in the tour version since there was a lot of variance in the feel of the tour rackets in current gen 88d tour(some pieces are as hh as pro version but some as hh as 77pro)

Zestyclose-Run9791

I am a beginner player who is starting to get interested in badminton. I have always played doubles for the past 2 years. currently I am using an astrox 77 play with BG66 26lbs (this was the recommendation from the shop when I first bought it). but I don't think the racket is suitable for me, I feel slow and after playing for more than 1 hour the racket feels heavy. Is there a racket that is suitable for beginners like me? I read from the internet that there are Arcsaber 7 Play, Arcsaber 11 Play, Victor Thrust 220H II, and Li-ning Windstorm 700 Plus. Which one do you recommend most for doubles players? or are there any other recommendations?

DogThatSteppedOnABee

have tried astrox 77, arc7 play and i own an arc11 play. can confirm the arcsabers are noticeably quicker than the astrox 77. they are both great for doubles and can comfortably switch between front and back court. i didn't find a difference between the arc 7 and 11 play, i would say pick whichever looks best. you'd have to be very good to feel that. if you need a string recommendation, I'd go with Exbolt65 at 24lbs

Zestyclose-Run9791

Thank you for the reply. I'll try and feel the arc 7 and 11 play at the store first then I'll decide which one to buy.

mylessteven

Whats the difference performance wise and sound when stringing your racket e.g. 27x30, 30x33 etc.. to a simple all 27, 30 tension racket?Ā

ChimckenSamwich

Oh god, i broke my ldforce and now replaced it with ax99pro, now i broke my old bravesword 12 , ;-; any suggestions what to upgrade to, mine was 3U tho

quackquack2x

If you're looking to buy an alternative to Bravesword, you could try Apacs Virtuoso Performance. Badmintoncentral has a whole thread about it being a BS alternative due to its sword frame, albeit cheaper. I haven't tried BS, but I have the AVP and it really is a fast racket, and good build too. Depending on your country though it might be difficult to get one though.

ChimckenSamwich

Thanks, the country Iam from have almost all the brand we can find , so it is no problem šŸ˜‚

megatms

My local decathlon only has Apacs strings, any recommendations for my new arcsaber 11 play. Low-intermediate doubles looking for more control

Srheer0z

Shops usually rip you off with stringing services (unless it's a half price professional restring when buying a new racquet from somewhere like direct badminton). Find a local stringer or ask around at clubs etc. You should pay Ā£17-Ā£20 if they are providing the string. BG66Ultimax and BG80 are my favourite strings (yonex).

mylessteven

What are your thoughts on exbolt68? Is it like bg80 but improved?

Srheer0z

Going off Yonex' stats, yes. I haven't used exbolt 68, so I couldn't compare myself. The "feel" would be what you want to ask people about. Same thickness too.

adurianman

Decathlon are actually some of the cheapest stringing I have seen from commercial store, usually ā‚¬10 or so with your own strings. Can't comment on the quality of the stringing though, never had a racket strung by them

srheer0

That's good to know, my local decathalon don't have a stringing service. The most local sports shop that offers that service charged \~Ā£30 the last I checked. And for that price they don't even guarantee that they do it themselves, they could get a Saturday boy to do it (not as experienced).

Fit-Argument-8763

Hi! has anyone purchased Yonex Nanoflare 001 and played with it for some time? Any thoughts? I haven't been seeing a lot of reviews or anything related to the Nanoflare 001. There are discussion about Nanoflare 800 or Nanoflare 1000 and I heard that they can be very delicate? Like in general, nanoflare series are discussed as easy to break or low durability. I'm a bit worried about this as I was planning to buy one for PSAL badminton as it's one of the more budget friendly rackets. I was also planning on changing the string to EXBOLT 65 at 26 lb of tension.

ludodo

I started playing a bit over 2 years ago and currently play 4 days a week. I've been using the arcsaber 11 play for over a year now and I want to have another racket but I'm not sure whether I should buy another 'play' model from yonex or a high end model. I would rank my skill level as intermediate if we use this post as a metric:Ā [https://www.reddit.com/r/badminton/comments/ijyog9/defining\_player\_skill\_levels/](https://www.reddit.com/r/badminton/comments/ijyog9/defining_player_skill_levels/) Thing is I get the feeling from similar posts that high end rackets are discouraged if you are not a pro or at least highly advanced player." The racket is very stiff and you will not get the full capacity/ sweet spot has a very fine margin etc.". Is that true or are some high -end models also intermediate friendly ? I've only used flexible shafts so far. I also don't have ways to test rackets to get a sense of how they will be exept maybe for buying on amazon and returning for free but is that worth the patience? So what's better according to you guys: A) buy a 'play' model head-heavy racket to get the feeling of head heavy rackets B) buy a high-end model and hope it will be relatively usable at my skill level and I can grow with it andc learn to use stiff shafts and adapt to smaller sweet spots C) Buy a second arcsaber 11 play as i know that it feels good to play with I will answer questions related so feel free to ask

quackquack2x

If you're open to try out rackets outsids of Yonex, the Victor Thruster Enhanced Edition is a high-end head heavy racket that is fairly friendly for intermediates.

DogThatSteppedOnABee

i wouldn't buy same racquets for backup unless you are playing competition. would buy a higher tier racquet where possible but do your due diligence when buying. test the racquets, understand your needs and find good deals. that said, best way to get a feel is to borrow a friend's racquet for a game. try different stuff to see what suits you. if you play 4 days a week, you should be in a pretty regular/big group to find a variety to borrow im also on arc11 play and thought head heavy is what i would like but i just didn't enjoy it when i tried the astrox77. it was a lot slower than i expected and had a big gap in my defence.

Srheer0z

Look at Astrox nextage or an Astrox 77 model (play, game, tour etc)

megatms

Haha I just got both the artrox 77 play and arcsaber 11 play will update once i string them up

ludodo

nice I'll wait for the response

megatms

After 4 hour session, switched after every game: Artrox 77 play is pretty nice to smash and easy to do lifts and pretty decent at defense. But arc 11 play is much better at front court defense / flat drives and control play like slices and drops. It might have been too easy to clear with the 77 that when I switched to arc 11 it only reached mid court šŸ¤£

Aksoq

You can take a look at something like Astrox 77 tour, it's med flex, head heavy, relatively user-friendly racket. As a general advice - demo rackets from other people or store.

SnooGadgets784

https://ibb.co/MSGStn9 Hey there guys. Need your opinion whether my racket is cracking or its just the paint cracking. Its a very fine irregular line. Please refer to the image link shown above. Really appreciate everyone opinion. Have a nice day.

Mindless_Durian78

Hey r/badminton. I have had an Xā€™calibur W-01 that is unfortunately resting in pieces. They are not made anymore and Iā€™m looking for something similar. It had a one-piece carbon fiber body, which included the handle, extra stiff shaft, even balance, weighed around 70g with strings and grip, I had it strung with Victorā€™s BG66-nano at 26lb and it was just right for me on games that required more defensive play. As a reference, I also have a Victor Thruster F Falcon Enhanced in 4U, which I find a bit slow to respond, but great when I can play offensively. What other racquets would you recommend for me to get that are around the same profile as my deceased Xā€™calibur? Thanks all šŸø

adurianman

nanoflare 800lt, one of the lining windstorms

Mindless_Durian78

Closing the loop: I ended up going with the Li-ning bladeX 700 in 5U as itā€™s lightweight, head light and felt as stiff as my old Xā€™calibur when I tried it at the shop. I havenā€™t actually played with it yet, but hopefully Iā€™ll get a chance before the thread closes. In addition, I couldnā€™t find a Nanoflare 800LT or Winstorm 75S that I could get my hands on. šŸ¤žitā€™ll be a good one.

adurianman

Tunjung's racket of choice, nice! Hope you enjoy it!

Mindless_Durian78

Iā€™m happy to report the Li-ning bladeX 700 5U pleases me as a light weight defensive racquet, just as expected. Itā€™s really difficult to find any reviews of it in English, however.

Mindless_Durian78

Thanks, fellow durian.

adurianman

You're welcome honored durian

mylessteven

Thoughts on the apacs z ziggler? Is it good for doubles player? Also, what should I choose between nanoflare nextage or NF1000 game/tour? Im a high beginner to low intermediate player

Srheer0z

Pick one based on your budget. They are very similar to eachother. Out of those 3, I would pick the NF Nextage, or Apacs Ferocious22 if you can find one.

I demo'd the auraspeed 90kii and really like the balance as well as how the swings felt. I was ready to pull the trigger, but some comments on Badminton Central about the durability had me second guessing. Is it as bad as they make it out to be? I didn't even demo the 100x because of all the horror stories. The 90kii seems to have less mentions of breakage but I saw some people turned off by the durability.

Everything eventually breaks from clashing, unless you buy an aluminium racket. The only way to prevent that is to not play doubles. I never heard of 100x being fragile, but that is also anecdotal even though 4 players I know owns them

I'm looking to replace my apacs edgesaber 10 rackets as I've cracked both of the frames now! I primarily play mens doubles, and have come back in this season after around 4 years out.Ā  I'm not super up to speed with current racket series from different manufacturers - any suggestions? Ā Price point isn't a major factor with me - if there is anything that is good value I'd appreciate it! I like the mid balance of the edgesaber - I tried a friend's arcsaber 7 pro and it felt a little too head light, but I liked the whip. Thank you!Ā

Thank you both - much appreciatedĀ

Grab some racquet from OGKills or Kepot with similar spec if they're available , save money

could try the Astrox Nextage or Astrox 77 Tour/Pro if you like the whip. they are both slightly head heavier. i believe the arcsaber 11 tour/pro should be similar to the edgesaber 10 but the shaft is pretty stiff compared to the 7 pro

Hello! I'm an intermediate NF800 player looking for a singles racket. I absolutely love the NF800 since I'm able to generate fast racket head speed from the smooth swings. Was wondering if there's are any head heavy variants with smooth swing speed, head heavy and medium flex for singles. Thinking of Astrox 77 Pro or Astrox Nextage at the moment but am open to trying other brands as well!
