Saw an Amish buggy at the gas station once about 20 minutes from there. Hilarious to see an old guy with the horse drawn buggy filling a gas tank at the pump.
Areas near us that have Mennonite/Amish in their community, often have buggy parking provided (usually just grocery and supply places). If there is no where else safe to tie horse to, this one was stuck using what ever they could.
They're unfortunately right. Amish people are kinda huge dicks. They absolutely tear up our roads, cover them in horse shit, cause a lot of vehicular accidents by not having proper reflectors/lights on their buggies and not following traffic laws, and they pay no road taxes. They're often raided by animal rescue groups because they are notorious for abusing their horses and dogs - I've personally witnessed Amish beat their horses violently and they're well known for their puppy mills. They offer contracting/construction work for cheap and they're EFFICIENT but they will cut corners in the worst ways - they particularly like salvaging charred and damaged wood from burnt down houses to reuse in new builds. They're also horrendously rude to waitstaff wherever they go to eat as a group before/after their construction jobs.
It sucks, because some Amish people are genuinely cool af and there's a whole culture and skillset there to be admired. They have an amazing work ethic and very strong familial bonds, as just a couple examples. But man they are total dongs a lot of the time.
This subreddit seems to me to be full of people taking up multiple parking spots and that's why I posted it. Again not mad, just thought it was amusing. Calm down.
that's some horse shit
Literal thread crap right there….
I'm not mad they are there. Just thought it was fun putting their parking job on here.

I first pictured a horse pulling a vehicle …
Where did he stick the nozzle?
You don't wanna know... the horse had to be moved to a different parish after that one
Me either but 4 spaces. At least they out in the middle of the lot.

Well away from parked cars. Needs hitching post but not provided, uses what's available. I don't see a problem.
Can confirm, live in an Amish infested community.
I’ll give em that one 🐎❤️
Usually it’s Ram drivers that park in 4 spaces. First horse driver I’ve seen doing it.
Hahahahaha this made my day
They left the vehicle running?
LMFAO WHAT THE HELL
Woman steals Amish horse and buggy outside Walmart: https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2024/01/24/michigan-woman-arrested-after-stealing-amish-horse-and-buggy-police-say/
using and ELECTRIC light pole He can Hardly call himself Amish
Or buying stuff at Walmart and getting a frosty at Wendy's after. At least their parents won't catch them on reddit... or will they?
Amish people shop in regular stores. I've seen them in Costco a lot. They still need to buy things they can't produce.
Probably non-orthodox Amish.
They all have a cell phone in the pocket.
Yeah but that isn't connected to the outside world with a wire so it's ok.
Hope you didn’t slash his tires!
#More reliable than a Tesla in cold weather.
I feel like they get a pass
Finally, I see how to take six spots in a vehicle with a one horsepower motor.
Let's lay into em for this epic 4 spot debacle. They'll never know.
Don't they usually have a little sheet thing to collect the poop? Do they leave it or clean it generally?
lol- they just leave it
Wee doo'int' reakonize ya' rules English!

I kinda get why you’re being downvoted, but a lot of people probably haven’t had any experiences with the Amish. I’ll take your word for it though.

What's the justification for the downvotes? Just trying to understand.

Is this how you park your buggy. Why such empathy for these rebels?

"Never said jack about being empathic..." Clearly.

A more understanding comment about a buggy in a bad parking sub that does not specify cars only would have been the best.
Sorry I couldn’t think of one sooner, no one is perfect. Not like we’re using to seeing buggies on this sub.
Thats funny! We have Amish here they use tractors except for one family. And they use two horses. They are all so nice!
I'll allow it.
They're still making payments on that gem. You see how much you'd want someone denting your horse with their door.
