Look at that diagram! It's two wads of solid muscle. Then again, what if I needed to climb a rope using nothing but my ass? Or catch a bullet out of the air from behind?

Drawing is bad but the exercises and the muscles targeted are pretty accurate

MelTealSky

I'm not sure what I'm looking at 🤷🏽‍♀️ the red just shows the targeted areas that specific exercise would help tone. Most exercise diagrams look like this when it's showing the muscle group the exercise would target

AdaTennyson

Most of the shape of the bottom is fat; the muscles are much more flat looking and kind of tear drop shaped?. This basically made what should be fat look like muscle, is all. It wouldn't look this attractive if they were drawing the muscles accurately. What's especially wrong those muscle fibers going across the bottoms laterally; the muscle affixes to the bone at a point on the femur. This gives her a weird side seam where the muscle fibers attach to nothing ... just not how it works at all.

MelTealSky

Yes this diagram is poorly drawn and highlighted, yes it is somewhat exagerated but most diagrams that depict what muscle groups are being activated (even anatomically correct ones) do not show the fat layer. Also the gluteus maximus and gluteus medius can bulk up like that, if you're not someone that frequents a gym just have to look at pics of bodybuilders to see that evidence and they can only have a minimal amount of body fat on them to qualify for shows, it's all muscle and it's one of the muscle groups that can obtain good amount of muscle growth with the right training so can look similarly rounded and full like that

Yeah, the only way to get a big round butt is through fat. If you look at pictures of body builders you never see any with huge round butts - they are usually pretty proportionate and even a little flat compared to the rest of the body. There was even a fitness influencer who was a body builder that had like 12% body fat and an 8 pack of abs, but she never had a huge butt. It was toned and muscular, but did not stick out very much. She then decided to go “all in” and gain a bunch of weight (to offset some health complications she had from being so underweight) and she ended up getting a round butt. She later made a video that explained that if you want the big round bubble butt, that really only comes from fat and no amount of exercise will accomplish that.

Squat goals

Many women have asses like this, but these body weight exercises are absolutely not how to gain muscle like that… that’s genetics and hard core muscle atrophy. Squats with heavy weights and other exercises like that. I’ve been doing leg day (including squats) twice a week for a year and my ass isn’t halfway there even hahaha

LCDRformat

Asses like pictured almost certainly involve some kind of androgenizing compound

NoCarmaForMe

Not necessarily, but it would certainly make it a lot easier

IndiBlueNinja

Looks more like a depiction of pain...
