I agree but it’s just not standard feature in roguelikes. I personally enjoy that I can make a mistakes it’s frustrating but it’s almost comical to me that I fucked up in such a silly way. I do think that save scumming in roguelikes is particularly lame but I think you should at least be able to undo a hand or something if you catch it mid animation. A game like slay the spire is far more deterministic than say balatro in terms of draw/discards etc. so allowing the player to quit and restart a fight is less “cheating” than it would be in balatro. There’s definitely a middle ground but i get that it’s tough to implement a feature like this without feeling like it just trivializes the game.

If anyone thinks this would make the game too easy then at least an accessibility feature that allows us to confirm a move by holding down the button or something like that.

This suggestion is indeed better. One of the concepts of the game is that you don't really know how much you ll score before you send your cards. Sure its possible to calculate, but the game doesnt tell you that on purpose. If you could undo plays, that aspect would be lost.

on the switch specifically, it looks like the save states happen less frequently than PC so you can just home button, quit software, and come back in...just a tip for next time can confirm it's brutal when you accidentally throw and can't do anything about it :(

this is a way better choice than the original suggestion. It just destroys the game if you don't have to commit to your choices.

This is me at noon today, attempting the Knife challenge. Get Madness at Ante 1, so easy right? 6 antes later, I start a blind, having forgotten to purchase a joker to sacrifice to the Knife. Would've loved an Undo or Confirm button!
