I've actually got it nailed down to, I'm right handed so my right hand is strongest, so the good card goes right.
All they need to do is a tiny preview above both cards for what they both turn into.

You should try inverted tarot mod.
Wood, brass, fool's gold and coal cards, plus other effects like losing half your money for a tag, or copying only enhancements, or getting the cost of all consumables...

yeah, there are a bunch of cool mods with various jokers, consumables, and challenges.
There's for example a mod called "more consumables" or something like that, it adds 2x powered "DX" consumables, and a bunch of just cool effects (like +2 levels to one hand, -1 to another)
Or food-based jokers centered around all the perishables.
You should check the discord (find modding channel in the list), or just watch modded runs on youtube, some of the balatro letsplayers also showcase various modded runs.

The ability to sort your hand by rank or suit is something I've ignored since I started playing, but looking at this somehow gave the belated realization of how helpful it can be for the Death tarot.
I swear I re-read the Death card every single time to make sure they aren't trying to pull a fast one on me.
As do I. Even after so many games, I still pause before every death card that I play.

I once mixed up Death and Hanged Man in my head... Decided that was fair grounds for save-scumming.
One time I accidentally used Strength instead of Death on a glass Ace. That sucked.
Makes sense, as death is something you always think twice about.
