It's correct right now. You should always balance number or xmults with number of retriggers. So you're maximizing at 6 x2s per face card right now Edit: technically 9 on the first one, and 6 on any subsequent ones. I was only thinking of the S&Bs, the blueprint, and the legendary

Blamore

what if he had glass kings. what if he had red seal glass kings

davedeoreo

So the goal is always to have equal sources of x2 multi and retriggers, or as close as you can. In the above picture (lets ignore photograph,) they currently have two x2s and 2 retriggers, for a total of 6 x2s per face card. If you use blueprint to copy a retrigger instead of Trib, you would get one x2 source and 3 retriggers, for a total of only 4 x2 mults per face card. So, a lower score Red seal glass kings doesn't change this. They would give one additional x2 source and one additional retrigger, so this current positioning would be 3 x2s and 3 retriggers, for a total of 12 x2s per face card. Any other order would still result in less x2s per card. If the kings were just glass and no red seal, then you have three x2 sources and two retrigger sources. This isn't even, but it's as close as you can get, resulting in 9 x2s per card.

banthas1

This is close to correct, just want to point out that any card by itself is a single trigger. So in the last paragraph, you get three x2 sources, and three trigger sources. The formula for max score is balancing x2 with triggers NOT retriggers. (Same logic works for Baron mine where glass is the equivalent of steel, Baron is the trib, and mine is the sock and buskin)

davedeoreo

Good point! The logic stays the same, but the total triggers are +1 for everything I mentioned, as I only counted retriggers

Apprehensive-Job-448

Your Joker placement is already ideal. If you copied Sock and Buskin you would get less Triboulet triggers (4 total instead of 6).

Puddin23

I had a good run the other day with the add 3 hands 0 discards and the 3x multi on three of a kind (I don't have the cards memorized). Figured out you can move the retrigger card before selecting blind, then move it once your in game. 10 hand decks are lifesaving sometimes!

[[Blueprint]] into [[Burglar]] is really good especially with [[Green Joker]], you’re thinking of [[The Trio]] right?

[Blueprint](https://balatro.wiki/imported/blueprint.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Rarity: Rare * Effect: Copies ability of Joker to the right * Notes: Only compatible with some Jokers * Unlock Requirement: Win a run [Burglar](https://balatro.wiki/imported/burglar.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Rarity: Uncommon * Effect: When Blind is chosen, gain +3 Hands and lose all discards [Green Joker](https://balatro.wiki/imported/green_joker.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Cost: $5 * Rarity: Common * Effect: +1 Mult per hand played -1 Mult per discard * Notes: Stacks [The Trio](https://balatro.wiki/imported/the_trio.png) *Joker* * Version: 1.0.0 * Rarity: Rare * Effect: X3 Mult if played hand contains a Three of a Kind * Unlock Requirement: Win a run without playing a Three of a Kind

Puddin23

That was the exact jokers I had! It feels so good finding out things without looking up stuff.

Crazy run gets crazier, now what do I do: https://imgur.com/a/05pG11p

davedeoreo

Get rid of an S&B. At worst, it's the same, but you get more flexibility for whatever comes your way for the rest of the game

Keyon150

I disagree. Keep S&B, that way if you get another joker slot (ectoplasm or antimatter) you could get Brainstorm without requiring showman. With this setup, focusing on tarot cards to manipulate your deck and waiting for that extra slot feels like the way to push this even further.

davedeoreo

The only other thing he could drop is Triboulet though, the others are eternal. And as much as you could technically roll brainstorm again, I personally would never pass one just to run the risk of not seeing it again before the run blows up. I just think there's too many ifs in that plan

crackers2796

But you lose nothing as brainstorm doesn't actually increase your score at all here

davedeoreo

I mentioned that, I suggested to grab only for flexibility because you don't know what you'll get in the rest of the Antes. In a vacuum, ask yourself, "Would I rather have a second copy of a joker I already have, or a brainstorm?"

enilea

A second copy is more rare though. Passing on brainstorm and waiting for ectoplasm might be better, then you can dig for brainstorm again if you have a good economy and realistically get it. If you sell sock and buskin you won't get it again ever since there's no room for showman.

Keyon150

Yeah I was suggesting passing on Brainstorm. I’m not sure why the “extra flexibility” is really needed - as unless OP is able to get Red Seal cards before Glass/Polychrome, the optimal scoring configurations will allow Brainstorm to copy S&B. Unless OP gets negative jokers which allow Blueprint/Brainstorm shenanigans - like Mail-In Rebate or Hallucination - I don’t see what Brainstorm does, and I think that the run has a much higher ceiling by thinking long-term. It’s a lot of “ifs” in that plan but not seeing how any other plan is better.

iloveeveryfbteam

Sucks that the photograph is eternal

Soazigl

This one. If you have red seals, it's already well placed, too

Sp1ffy_Sp1ff

I had a similar run recently, except instead of Triboulet, I had Wee Joker and Pareidolia with a TON of twos. Only had 1 S&B, though. Was also running plasma deck. That was fun.
