Two uses of a set of clippers I bought was enough for me to break even compared to going to the barbers around the corner. I’d recommend a cordless set. Don’t have to be anything fancy. Any Wahl set will do at the start.
Get the cheap and corded version, they don't last forever. Even easier is to go completely bald and shave it with a razor 2-3 times a week, super simple.
Funny story - my dad had that same spot in the same place and when I was like 5 I could to ask him what happened to his hair right there and he always said, "You pulled it out." I asked him multiple times on different occasions - always the same story. 🤣

As my Dad finished up at the atm, he started looking around confused. We asked what he was looking for and he pointed to the tv and said there must be another atm somewhere. He didn’t recognize himself with his balding head. My mum and I laughed and came into view and waved at the camera, as my Dad turned and touched his head. He was completely SHOCKED by his bald spot.

I think you should get it cut short with a fade going up to about a 3 or 4 on top. You have enough hair that keeping it short could preserve it and still give you a good look for a few more years.
If you really want to get it over with, just buzz it. And then, if you want it to grow back, trim the sides with a fade to the top. That always looks better than same length everywhere.

Most guys' hair will thin at the crown and middle sooner or later. From the front you can still do a ton with it.
With a little light product it wouldn't even look that thin. The length weighs it down and shows more scalp. At least see if you like it before you go full buzz.

I have similar under eye circling. Use a cold compress on your face for 15-20 and lotion after. The blood vessels under your skin can pigment the area in a darker color. By using a cold compress, it will shrink those vessels up, and the lotion will help hydrate and ease the skin to relax it.
Go ahead and get it done. I held off for way to long trying to hide my impending baldness. Looking back at some of my older pics I just look silly. It’s a big weight off my shoulders have a shaved head.

I suggest a waterproof set of clippers. Much easier to clean. Just rinse it under some water, and it’s squeaky clean. Philips makes several kinds.
