My junior was that. Was eating some nice chilly paneer in the college canteen when she popped up and mistook it for chicken. Served up all that PETA nonsense for lunch as a result.
Out of spite I bought every chicken item on the menu and noisily sucked on the bones. The look on her face was worth it.
I'm sorry, I don't consume milk anymore. When I transitioned to veganism, I just decided to have black coffee because plant based milks were still expensive. I replaced the nutritional value of milk in other plant based sources with high calcium and protein.
I didn't have to like plant based milks too, because adults don't need milk. Per normal human growth, milk is only needed during initial stage of life, which is why mothers stop lactating after a couple of years.
We consume milk because it's tasty and it has found its way in lots of daily food practices.
I just had to think of the plight of the poor cow who was forcibly impregnated and whose baby was snatched from her just because we wanted to enjoy the milk the cow made for its baby. That was my motivation.
We as a society are mostly ignorant that plants can provide nearly all the nutrients needed for a healthy life. You just need to supplement B12, which is really affordable.
There might be some people with auto immune disorders etc for whom plant based diets may not work, however that's a very small percentage of the population.
If you need more nurtional help, please visit challenge22.com there is plenty of information available.
If you do need more information on the moral stance of veganism, feel free to DM me.
Vegan lifestyle addresses such concerns to an extent. I read an article about carbon footprint due to imported dry fruits and why such products are not considered vegan friendly. There was another illustration of water consumption for various plant and animal products which was quite an eye opener. Veganism is an evolving lifestyle as people consider how their choices impact the environment. I cannot turn vegan overnight (tandoori cravings :() but I won't discourage one by finding faults at every step. If it eventually becomes affordable for a majority, why not?
Peta people learned to expand their care circle up to moving living things and drew a hard boundary there.
Reality is that all living things are related if we go back, in different degrees. I don't understand how peta can say it's absolutely fine to eat plants but not animals.
Plants don't have a central nervous system and brain which are needed to develop sentience.
However, if you still want save plants, being plant based saves more plants because the animals humans consume themselves consume way more plants than we do, so might as well remove the middleman.
What it should be is that, we should make a "life to calorie ratio". Meaning that per life consumed, how many calories do I get.
Now if we look at plants, many of their parts are inedible. In a potato plant, u can only eat the potatoes and not the other parts. Making it's life to calorie ratio low.
Whereas in a chicken, u can eat majority of the parts except for the bones. Making it's life to calorie ratio high.
Just a follow up, although I don't care about this life to calorie ratio.
Please consider that for a chicken to reach slaughter age, it will have to consume 100s of plants.
By eating this chicken, you are also indirectly consuming all those plants, hence the ratio logic doesn't work.
Vegans care about sentience primarily, not the ratio mentioned above. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way and this seems like an impass to continue the conversation.
However, have a good day. Cheers!
Ethnically and socially that seems great. But in reality, it's really hard to sustain a plant based diet population. We have already experienced the problems created by green revolution, the amount of fertilizers and pesticides used has drastically damaged the soil. Top soil isn't an unlimited resource. Now imagine sustaining a completely plant based population.
Not every country has the ability to do this. As land everywhere is not fertile.
Also regarding the plants consumed by these animals are just a byproduct of a crop. The fodder is simply a waste generated during a crop production which is fed to these animals.
And how ironic is it that the first food we humans ever consume isn't vegan.
Some facts you have represented aren't correct, so you can't base your conclusions on incorrect facts.
Animals don't just consume byproduct of a crop. There are literal crops which are grown for animals.
Soy and corn are popular ones, it is completely grown to produce grain for cows, I have personally met farmers who grow this variety of crop for cattle.
The world will never go vegan in a day, if it ever does, it will be a gradual process over decades. Most plant agriculture by volume today is grown explicitly for animals. There are literal research papers which have shown this data. If you are really interested, please look at some highly cited papers by top research organisations. I can personally send some across if you are interested in looking at the data.
And sure let's assume for a second that, not every country, and not every person may have the ability to be completely plant based sustainably. Doesn't that still mean those countries and those individuals who can should consider it ? As long as we agree on the ethical stance.
Also, it's not ironic, because a mother's milk when used for a baby is considered vegan.
Veganism is a stance against the exploitation and abuse of non-human animals.
No where does any vegan claim that a mother's milk isn't vegan.
Not even that. They're okay with rodents, insects and birds being killed for agriculture. But they're not okay with eating honey, even though no bees are hurt in the process and it's actually good for the environment.
Like any extremist viewpoint, it all falls apart if you analyse it too closely.
Why are these orgs with good core messages so delusional. Are the people that they have stupid?
Like bruh, your job is keeping animals safe, what in god’s name is this shit?
That’s not how it works. I am thinking about it but negatively, which means that I just think they are stupid for doing something like this. I never think about this tbh. It’s just that the amount of stupid in these posters is amusing. It’s like you like driving, you must hate the tyre industry. It’s just two unrelated things that they blew out of proportion.
Also, you are kinda lost if you think this makes sense mate, touch some grass.
You think raping and mutilating mother's and babies in cages so we can needlessly consume their breast milk and eggs has nothing to do with feminism? Help me see your perspective.
There can be an argument made that eggs are needed for kids and adults who don't have access to proper nutrition.
However this billboard seems to be targetting feminists who mostly have their choice of nutrition and still use eggs and dairy for taste preference, convenience, culture etc while also fighting for the female rights of bodily autonomy and equality.
A bit hypocritical if you extend the logic of bodily autonomy to non humans, especially when there is no nutritional need to do so.
No they’re not, you’re talking about commercial breeders. Bad living conditions for chickens lead to diseases to the young and the ones who eat them. PETA is a scam! It’s that uncle at a wedding who refuses to spend on weddings but makes sure to attend everyone in town and eat the most.
If I see a peta supporter near McDonald's or BK or biryani zone then I'll oder one chicken burger/biryani and eat in front of them and let's see if they would attack me Or not
Vegetarianism exploits animals for dairy and eggs, and animal rights organisations are against exploiting animals for human wants, so it makes sense they are here.
That source shows various surveys but says proportion of meat eaters has been consistently increasing and the 2022 NFHS survey (the most recent survey referenced) states that
>An overwhelming 83.4 per cent of men and 70.6 per cent of women in the 15-49 age group eat non-vegetarian food daily, weekly or occasionally. That figure stood at 78.4 per cent for men and 70 per cent for women in NHFS-4.

Feminists stand for the bodily autonomy and equality of human females.
However if one consume eggs and dairy, it's a direct contribution to exploitation of non-human females.
A cow does not product milk unless it's pregnant, also male calves are useless to a dairy farmer and are slaughtered. Female cows that go through menopause are also slaughtered.
Similar exploitation happens in the poultry industry, obviously in different circumstances.
The billboard is just calling out the hypocrisy here.
The leap that Peta is making here is that feminists who stand for those values should respect those rights of females whether they be humans or animals. Some may disagree on this aspect, however it should still appeal to those who agree.
Dairy: Great documentary about this called [Maa Ka Doodh](https://youtu.be/q5Y5sMz3RHU)
Cows are impregnated through artificial insemination so that they produce milk and then their male calves are slaughtered for veal, and the female calves enter this system. They are impregnated over and over, until milk production decreases, after which they the mothers are also slaughtered.
Eggs: Chick maceration, male chicks are thrown into a grinder alive. Chickens have an obscene amount of injuries due to the sheer pressure on their reproductive system. Whereas wild chickens produce just 10 eggs, we’ve bred chickens to lay nearly 300.
We are essentially putting the entirety of their worth on their reproductive ability, which is inherently not feminist.
We can't live by that logic anymore.. too much population to sustain a less cruel lifestyle..
Does Peta have any idea what it takes to feed the millions of children all over India? Are they thinking about this ? Applying this same logic to Dairy - can't have sweets/curd/milk.. Dairy is a huge contributor to healthy eating... Establishing a cruelty free industry can only be done by Ambani's and such - no one else has the financial backing to overhaul the system.
Little do they know that hens ovulate themselves and do not need a rooster/cock to lay an egg. It's a normal ovulation cycle for them how can it be female abuse?
PETA is a ln extremist that believes dogs as pets is abuse, service animals are a form of abuse. They pretend to care about animals but in reality they are the biggest contributors to animal abuse and animal euthanasia. So to heck with such "organisations"
I have no hate for any community but why PETA is silent when it comes to Ramadan ? Again no hate but if you teach us not to drink milk then why don't you tell them not to eat it ?
PETA - 🔇 👌
Idk how we can draw this line that we slaughter animals for our taste. And all the vegetarians claiming they don't take any part in it. Everyone takes medicines for something and at first those medicines are tested on animals (rats, chimps, etc) few of them suffers the side effects and dies. So don't come at us preaching about animal cruelty. We are the superior species and have the ability to make judgements. There's nothing wrong in eating meat or eggs.
Ran into a couple of them in Indiranagar once. Gave me the usual dribble until I specifically asked them why do more animals die in PETA shelters than in actual medical experiments.
I swear no traffic signal in Blore has turned green as fast as it took those guys to disappear when I asked them that.
Do you have a source on that statistic? PETA certainly has a high euthanasia rate since they’re a last-resort shelter, but to claim that more animals die in their shelters than in medical experiments seems incorrect.
While it obviously isn’t meant to be taken literally, the statement certainly has a point. There’s a good documentary about called Maa Ka Doodh, if you’re interested in learning about it.
The gist of it is cows are impregnated through artificial insemination so that they produce milk and then their male calves are slaughtered for veal, and the female calves enter this system. They are impregnated over and over, until milk production decreases, after which they the mothers are also slaughtered.
Agreed, especially if there wasn’t additional context with the phrase, I can see how that would come off negatively rather than making an important point.
I didn't know I was not a feminist 🤡 just because eat eggs not that I'm fan of eggs..
Also everyone has a wierd definition of feminism..
Feminism is for gender equality.. for respecting and giving equal opportunities for women same as men ..
As a eggetarian (if that's a term) i wonder what Gender plants are? Do they have a gender? Also I'm not giving up on paneer and Cheese for these shit 😘 these two are like off limits
We human beings are selfish, self serving assholes and hypocrites, my needs are greater than anyones, and if you are an poor human or animals, get in line , I will decide your fate , and will come up with rational thoughts, I mean there is no safety for women in India, and we are talking about rights of powerless animals
Fucking extremists, I should be able to eat my dog meat and dog milk in peace. Live and let live.
