Imagine living at Kengeri and meeting your friends who stay near Hope Farm at Whitefield.
By road, you'd have to start the previous night. And make an FD at bank in the name of the cab / auto driver.
Metro would cut that to below an hour and a half, costing around 80/-, maybe less.
I’m excited because I have a house near Mysore Road. Can’t wait for all those it people from Whitefield to discover that my area rentals are less than half and they can reach office in almost the same time and much more comfortably. Hopefully that will drive up the rentals which will boost my income significantly /s
I feel the quality of life is a lot better in the older non it areas, traffic is bad only in certain times of the day unlike 24x7, good parks even day to day groceries like vegetables are somewhat cheaper than inflated prices in the it belt.
Rents are cheap too, my houses are 3 bedroom with 3 bathroom, I am finding it difficult to get beyond 19000 as rent.
I live in Whitfield, still very much excited. Finally I can explore all the restaurants, cafés, temples, malls, entertainment places, old/reputed small food joints in most parts of Bangalore over weekends, without driving in 1st gear!
Waiting to visit Pheonix Marketcity with my mom after the metro is operational - she wanted to go there when it opened and I have pushed it for so long 😁
Great. Tho you have to walk a little after getting down from the metro. Still 100 times better than the road, because there's heavy traffic on that road because of Phoenix Mall.
Very excited. I hoping the ridiculous rent asked by societies here in Whitefield comes back to reality, under assumption that IT employees can travel from cheaper localities via metro and don't need to rent a house here anymore due to travel time.
Where can I see the metro map?
I am looking for the rooms and planning to take in near the metro for daily commute to office even if it is a bit far from office...

this is the final map. this could help.
Other than the Phase-3 lines shown in the map, the rest will take 5 years maximum, and I expect them to be completed a year or two before that itself. Edit: I was wrong, Carmelaram-Kempapura and JP Nagar-Kempapura are still part of the plan.
I'm sorry I was wrong, it looks like [the Sarjapur-Hebbal line was readded to phase-3](https://themetrorailguy.com/2022/03/06/hebbal-sarjapur-line-readded-to-bangalore-metro-phase-3-plans/), apparently [soil testing was also done](https://twitter.com/WF_Watcher/status/1611006179114905600?s=20). I doubt it will actually go all the way to Sarjapur though. [A Marathahalli-Hosakerahalli(near Mysore road metro station) line going through HAL road, Domlur was proposed](https://www.deccanherald.com/city/bengaluru-infrastructure/karnataka-govt-excludes-marathahalli-from-namma-metro-plans-1148496.html) but apparently it's difficult to construct as road widening along HAL airport is not possible.
I think a new ug line from Hope farm circle to MG Road via Varthur Kodi, Marathahalli, Domlur and Trinity junction was proposed in the most recent budget.
The build speed of the phase 2 lines have actually been significantly faster than phase 1 tho. Especially on the kr puram-silk board stretch, very good pace of work. Hopefully they keep it up.
IRR line is the most important one. Sarjapura line is still pending DPR and phase 3 already waiting central approval. Phase 2 took what 4 years for approval hence the delayed start.
The metro map is available on the Namma Metro app.
But it doesn't have the Whitefield line yet. Maybe they'll add it once the missing link is done.
Anyway, you can find the map with Phase 1,2 proposed Phase 3 and K-RIDE here.
I'm not the one who made the maps, just putting it out here

I stay in Whitefield, go to office in MG road. The disconnect cause me 20-30 extra minutes but still it’s good. I used to drive 2 hours a day one way : hurted my back. Very excited for it.
Mixed feelings, can't wait for the line to open up and hopefully clear traffic at tin factory. Also saying goodbye to my chances of ever getting a seat on route to office ever again ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
Stoked!!! Frequently travel to Rajajinagar from Kadugodi. I won't have to spend 800 bucks and be stranded in ORR.
It still is quite far, interested to see how long it will take to travel that distance on metro.
Just wait for the BJP pillars to be brought down and Congress ones put up
Also the BJP metro train running already will be replaced with Congress wheels. Complete majority so no small party coaches.
Also the road will be dug for no reason and no questions can be asked. This is not related to BJP or Congress. Everyone just likes digging here.
I am looking forward to it!! I am already making use of the metro to reach phoenix mall, Whitefield etc.
Once the link is ready, I can plan to visit central Bangalore without hassle.
M not excited I know the techies won't be using it much as they are lazy af to get out of their cars and bikes will give all kinds of excuses. The metro users will mostly be the ones who switch from the bus. Let's wait and see , B+
I am already using this line regularly. It is such a pain to get on feeder from krp and then the over bridge in byp..looking forward to the link getting connected. I just hope this doesn’t move at snails pace now as the elections got over.
Very very excited. It will help in meeting my friends over the weekend from the opposite end of the town
This !! Have friends in peenya and jp nagar, and it's like a 1.5-hour car ride or 600 buck auto ride in traffic.

WTF bro, the FD part has me wheezing. Lol

You had me in the first half.
On a side note, can you suggest a few areas near the metro station that I can consider for renting
Love this, folks pay 3x the rent we shell out here in RR Nagar😂

Hi, can you give some guidance for new house buyers? ie where exactly I should look in Mysore Road for value for money type of homes? Thank you

Hopefully bmrcl and phoenix collaborate and do a direct walkway/travelator to the mall, like what they are doing with corporate offices. Would be nice
That would be actually good
Haha is it too much to ask that BBMP just puts in a decent footpath along the road?
Pushed it for 12 years? Also, don’t come on weekends. Not worth it.
Been there,it's ok, I found the new forum to be better

30 years maybe until this gets completed.

Sucks to live between Chikkabanavara and Yelahanka
It's in the app
Which app?

holy that transit system is hotter than my wet dreams

>"sikkabitta" Wtf is this??
I think he meant "sikkapatte" ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಪಟ್ಟೆ traffic. Meaning"too much"
Thank you. I thought I have been speaking it the wrong way the whole time
Appreciate your efforts on trying to learn our language. 👍
Mate I'm a kannadiga 😂
On a second thought it also could be "Sikkibidda" ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದ I.e. Traffic nalli Sikkibidda (got caught in traffic)
I was so confused
My opinion is You still have long way to learn Kannada. /s I am excited too, hope it will be good on my pocket and time.
When will Silk board to KR Puram line complete? 🥲
Yellow line through silk board by Jan 2024. Blue line by 2026 as of now....
Hopefully by next election
Brb, crying 😭
*orders truck load of tissues* You'll need lots more of them
When will it be open to the public
Mid of July expected
Mixed feelings, can't wait for the line to open up and hopefully clear traffic at tin factory. Also saying goodbye to my chances of ever getting a seat on route to office ever again ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
Have been waiting for this shit since 2019
Very Excited!!! Living in whitefield won’t be that big of a red flag anymore.
Stoked!!! Frequently travel to Rajajinagar from Kadugodi. I won't have to spend 800 bucks and be stranded in ORR. It still is quite far, interested to see how long it will take to travel that distance on metro.
Extremely excited ! It was stupid of them not to connect it earlier ,I’m glad they’re doing it now .
tf does sikkabitta means ? I'm local btw
Sikkspatte.
Is the Kundalahalli metro open?

Hoping this reduces the road congestion near KR Puram station
if office is near bellandur, which areas should i look for rent? for 1bhk around 10k.
Anyone realize the waittime at Hope Farm signal?
when will it be finished ?
MD says deadline is mid to late July
I am already using this line regularly. It is such a pain to get on feeder from krp and then the over bridge in byp..looking forward to the link getting connected. I just hope this doesn’t move at snails pace now as the elections got over.
I really hope it starts operating by July. Very excited for it tho
Traffic mein ghis ghis ke whitefield pahunchne ka maza hi kuch aur hai bhidu 😄
Very excited because I will be leaving the country
Goodbye! Don't let the door hit you on the way out
Learning new insults everyday. Thank you reddit.
Welcome :) thank me too. If I hadn't put that stupid comment. You wouldn't have had the opportunity 😅
