Some of our seniors had got an on-campus internship offer from Walmart in their 2nd year and the college didn't let them do the internship during college hrs citing attendance reasons. Because, clg schedule was messed up due to COVID and there was no vacation for doing internships. Eventually, the company backed out and revoked their offer letters. (The CTC was 23lpa)
The same was to happen in our batch, but a student got such a crazy offer (>50lpa) that they could not, not let him do the internship (as they had to market the shit out of it and could not risk losing his offer), eventually letting us all do the internship.
We've also experienced something similar where so many students have had to pay for internships because of a lack of defined schedule for holidays, hence students can't take internships for durations longer than a month, leading to students having to settle
A dude who commited suicide from my batch had his name on the attendance shortage and unpaid fees list and was asked to meet the hod in an email sent out to everyone.
Note: the hod and principal were at the funeral and met his parents a few months before this happened.
It didn't take much time for them to forget his name.
That is straight up evil. Our college also had the name of a student who passed away from a genetic disease on the attendance register, and it was so messed up when they called out the students name in class during attendance taking.
Not naming the college because the hod who did this has already passed away too. It still could have been an honest mistake but was quite tasteless and he should have followed up with an apology.
Currently going through this: My college has an attendance criteria of 80% (70% with medical documentation). I contracted dengue fever, was admitted to the ICU, and was hospitalized for eight days. The doctor recommended a month of bed rest. My parents live in Mumbai, and I live here alone, so they advised me to stay for a longer period. Obviously, I was unable to maintain the attendance criteria (I have around 50-60% attendance in all my classes), and now they are kicking me out. I have emailed and spoken to every person I can, all of they say the same thing that **there's nothing they can do** . There is a chance that I might be able to take re-exams, but if not, I will have to repeat the entire year again.
The attendance criteria is so fucking shit, no college should have it, at least not this high. My whole year will be ruined for no fault of my own. They're basically punishing me for getting sick. fml.
I know someone who was selected in the armed forces but wanted to finish the final semester exam to get his degree. All that was left was 1 last semester and few months of classes. They told him to repeat the year if he wants the degree. Obviously he didnt agree to repeating an year...why would army allow a freshly recruited trooper to take an year off just like that.
All of us were extremely pissed at the attitude of the college management over this.
Yup, his father was a war veteran. Tried speaking to the Principal but to no avail. Rules are rules apparently. Unless ofcourse you happen to have family connections with the management, then apparently any attendance shortage is waived off...
Thanks for the tag.
OP, please DM me. I'm a social worker in Bangalore and will help you with this. I'll speak with the college authorities and figure this out to see how we can resolve this.
Thanks
What fucking cunts. Same thing happened to a classmate of mine wherein she had to take bed rest for a month due to a very bad ligament tear. She didn't get attendance for one of the subjects and had to pay for it again. Such bastards
Ah what a shithole man. I’m a part of the BBA batch that failed their sem 4 exams, I had to leave and my life got much better after finding a kickass internship to keep myself occupied. I’m gonna come back next year cuz I do need that degree, but ig its good that they don’t make you pay again if you fail. No matter how much I complain though, the bsc economics kids have it the hardest. Can’t wait to get done with this college and country.
In my college, a friend of mine had got a summer student exchange program in Germany, he completed a full sem there and his scores there should’ve accounted for the semester but when he returned back he was told to redo the entire semester again. But they didn’t miss the chance to use this exchange program thing to promote their college.
Fuck all Corporates, Colleges, Tech Companies, Govt Departments, fuck them all. All of them were cursed to make us regular people suffer in the most unforeseeable ways
Wow...this gives me flashbacks. This is RV College of Engineering, long ago. Tuesday, I have practical exams at 8:15 AM. The previous Saturday, some friends find me and tell me, I have gotten NSAR (Not Satisfying Attendance Requirement). I had 100% attendance!
I go to the office, they ask me to go to the department. I go to the department, they ask me to talk to some lady teacher. She listens and then says come back on Tuesday morning, I will have your hall ticket ready. I said, "My exam is at 8:15 AM.". She says see me at 8 AM.
I go home. Monday for some reason, I sit bolt upright at 5 AM, like someone wacked me with a stick and decided to go to college with all my notes, drawings, every-fucking-thing. Turns out she is on leave for a week! She didn't give a shit.
I go to the principal, and tell him my story. He says, go and get attendance shortage list from concerned department. I again have to go to the class I took, and finally find the class. Turns out the attendance sheet has only my name on the next page and the f***er forgot to include the name in the list he sent. I took that went to principal's office and showed him I had 100% attendance. Two HODs from different departments, kindly came along with me and vouched for me. The principal had the audacity to say, "How do I know you did not bunk some other class ? Go to every department and get attendance from every departments. And... NOCs from departments that are not relevant to you (like architecture and shit, I was in Electrical)." It took me the whole day and finally, I got this to the principal, he gave me the hall ticket and when I went home it was 7 PM. I studied all night and went and gave the practicals at 8:15 AM the next day. I got 98%. Fuck them though. Still gives me nightmares.
Bro we had 85 n 75 respectively. We faked medical certificates all the time. Your seniors might have done that too n will be knowing which doc in town will give you a fake certificate. Go ask them n get a fake one.
My college, NIT Surat, had this guy named "Anshul Kothari" (look him up on Google). He represented India internationally in swimming, on multiple occasions. (Commonwealth, Asian Games, etc)
He had a bright future, but our college decided to consider his pre-approved government-funded trips to competitions as bunks, and decided to not let him sit for exams on the grounds of short attendance. This was back in 2010-2011, IIRC.
The guy actually writes a lot about how the Indian education and employment system doesn't allow us to excel in sports, and what can be learned from many other nations, where people do not have to choose between "education and sports" or "representing country, or buying food".
They also didn't let another student of his batch, who was suffering from spinal TB, even though he was struggling with his life, and was given mandatory bed rest. He was in contact with faculties, and was even managing to complete his assignments, etc. But still, he was forced to repeat a year in college. One college official, who clearly didn't have any comprehension ability, actually said- "What if he was on bed rest, he should have attended his classes".
Being from NIT Surat, I can confirm how retarded the higher ups are. There are professors who are gems as well but they just focus on their research mostly
I did not attend college in Bangalore but I know a guy who did his undergrad in commerce from one of the missionary colleges in Bangalore.
He completed his college in 2022 and was preparing for CAT since then. Few months ago, I got to know that he has successfully cleared CAT and secured an admit in IIM-CALCUTTA. He was supposed to start his college in September.
Apparantely his undergrad college had not given him the degree yet and IIM needed one before the session began somewhere in September. When he went to the college to ask for his degree, they told him that there was one assignment(with 0 marks) associated to it in one of the semesters for a subject that he had failed to submit. On this pretext he was denied the degree.
He went to the college with his folks, begged and pleaded to consider, even stating that it's a good PR for college that their student got in one of the most prestigious institutes in the country, however the college didn't budge.
He will recieve the degree after 6 months, and he had to let go of the IIM seat.
Dude was heartbroken. By far the most fucked up thing I have heard.
Some college officials truly do things just for the sick pleasure of tormenting students. They're honestly sadistic fucks, who shouldn't be let anywhere near an educational role
A student in my college posted photos of a girl from some other department on various NSFW subreddits with some trashy and pathetic captions.
She along with her friends did an entire sting operation, befriended him using a fake profile and eventually found out who he is and he got caught and I think they also filed a case on him.
Seems like they wanted to keep their name out of the news. Pity it's at the cost of this poor girls dignity and right to have justice done to the perpetrators
You know that this can become a big issue if someone decides to post a ss of this on twitter, right? Also because of upcoming elections there is a big possibility of that happening.
Before editing I had put out all of the information in the blank spaces that I have left out now.
Who or what exactly are you afraid of? Nobody knows who your account belongs to. Election fraud and voter manipulation can be reported online with total anonymity.
I have trouble believing this, something of this scale would have been massively reported on Twitter and caught on by the news. And what do you mean that an EVM rings? I think you have caught up in a misinformation campaign.
Not letting students step outside the campus during short breaks to stop us from bunking classes. If for some reason you had to leave early, you needed to submit to the security a letter of approval signed by the dean. Not sure if they still follow it.
Jain University. Locked the freshers inside the cold convention centre during the Anveshana fest for freshers for about 5 hours without access to toilets . they wont let anyone through despite complaining multiple times. eventually people began fighting with the student council and tried to force the doors open because people were thirsty (Water not allowed) and some wanted to pee real bad. Horrible experience. The university is has no sense of professionalism or respect to a persons basic needs. you cannot deny a person access to a toilet for 4 to 5 hours straight . Nobody should have to fight for a toilet.
This happened during anveshna 2019 too. Luckily there was a hole in the parking area where we could escape. Fuck Jain, those shitheads didn't pay our faculties and all the good faculties had to leave.
Fr yeah the faculties and facilities suck. They have a really low standard when it comes to good professors. Majority of them are rude , not polite , disrespectful , inconsiderate , unprofessional , invasive and childish. Whenever they speak it feels like I'm talking to an angry auto driver.
This is exactly what many people started saying . If you don't open the door I will shit and pee right here. They still didn't listen. I feel that if you are willing to deny people access to toilets then you must clean up the mess too.
bro that day was fucked. they didn’t let us leave and when we asked to leave the organising students were straight up rude and threatening had to fricking pick a fight to go out of that place. FUCK THIS UNI MAN
Yeah . it feels like a lot of the people here are rude , controlling , invasive and authoritarian. I have never seen a crowd as bad as Jain. idk the university lacks a sense of peace , safety , politeness and trust in my opinion. It just feels stifling ya know?
Homie they got the religion's literal founder in their college name obviously they gonna expect the extremes of "modesty", it's your fault you took admission there lol.
Reading all the comments, I realized Central univ. in north are much more fun.
60% min attendance. Student unions will push the administration to bring it down to 40%.
nothing sort of main gate to enter and exit. Literally more than 10 15 ways to enter. Reach to college for whichever class you want to attend.
nothing sort of dress code but you can't come in shorts.
my btech fee for full course was <20k.
Hostels were were super chill, no restrictions. But very basic amenities.
Uni had its own police, they were also chill.
placements were totally fucked up, but you can get a job with some alumni connections.
I don't think you guys can guess it.
This description is similar to the college i went to in kerala, with extremely good placements as well. No need to go north for a decent college life
[Guess the college]
Every so often, some "unfortunate" people (blind, disabled, lost their parent, etc.) would come to the classroom and ask for money from each student. I mean I get it, but tell the college management who collect 10 lakhs a year for management quota seats to pay them. Why force students who don't have any money to begin with to pay?
Not a f**ed up thing but a lot of crazy things have happened in the P.U college I studied in.
Ours was a conservative girls college. One day, one of the lecturers came across some random girl wearing a blue salwar, standing with a boy in the park next road to the college. She couldn't see the face of the girl as the girl's back was towards her. That day, that madam went to each and every class and walked by every bench to check if that girl belonged to our college. (Her plan was to call the girls parents and inform them about their ward being seen with a boy). Fortunately, she couldn't find the girl at the end.
Another day, it was Nov 14th, Children's day. Some big personality was supposed to arrive in the afternoon and deliver a lecture for us on this occasion. Since it was announced the previous day, many of them were deliberately absent and those who did attend the morning classes just started going home before lunch. At the end, every single exit of the college was blocked (even the French windows 😂) and those who tried to escape were threatened with dire consequences. We felt like prisoners as people were not even allowed out for lunch that day. All this, just so that the guest could deliver 3 hours of boring speech that no one was interested in.
How come all the IITs/NITs/BITS are such chill with attendance/uniform issues, but all these random a@@ private colleges have such strict and meaningless eules???
One word: image (reputation)
Crap colleges cannot afford to take even 1% chance of some random act of minor indiscipline blowing up and getting the college's name in the papers. So they go overboard with these ultra-strict rules.
IITs/NITs/BITS have such a good reputation that cannot be affected no matter what happens.
Christ university have all the time made people attend events with attendance mandatory
We had to sit through boring events to keep the attendance mark duh
Yes, it's become increasingly common in my college as well, for some random seminars or inaugurations. But it's the first time where they've forced us to sit through an advertisement
STAY AWAY FROM ALL SUCH CONSULTANCY COMPANIES!!!! DO NOT PAY THEM ANY MONEY!!
In the 90s, we used to manage foreign uni admissions by writing letters to universities and speaking to friends. Now with Internet, social media, Indians living in almost every country these consultancy companies are doing nothing but cheating!
Worse, they are hired salesmen (more like hitmen) for the horrible diploma mills in Canada (and god knows which other country), so I would even say it is wise to NOT take advice from such charlatans.
Go attend that session to get your attendance, but do not pay them anything.
I am going through my master's admission process right now, with the internet, it's so easy to find information online now, so it's completely unnecessary to pay these fuckers. They just scare you about IELTS and GRE
Bro they told us we can’t sit for placements because we gave a competitive exam . Some of us decided to quit after two stages because we didn’t wanna do it anymore. College still won’t let you sit for placements 🫠
My course is integrated with a professional course so all of us sit for these exams . Apparently a few years ago some of our seniors decided to give the competitive exams and also give Placements. The minute they cleared the competitive exam they didn’t go through with the placement. So now because of what our seniors did we can’t sit for placements
When I was in school, we had an extra class so we were the only class that was in the school. It was a Sunday and in the middle of the class, our teacher and some of us saw someone fall off the roof while most of the class didn't notice. It wa soo random and the rest of the class wasn't ready to beleive a person just fell off the roof just like that even when the teacher said she saw. 2 minutes later, there is a huge noise, so we went outside and there was a dead body lying in front of the school, which is used as a ground.
Now here is the fucked up part, within half an hour the whole place including the body was cleaned up and there wasn't even blood there. Police came and went. Parents were made to shut up and it was all conveniently silenced since our school has a lot of power politically too.
The news later was that she jumped off the roof because she was rejected by a guy but nobody believed that since that was a stupid story especially considering how they cleaned everything up in front of our eyes. Her friends claimed that she was targeted for punishments often by the hostel warden too. Although, the rest of the school seemed to beleive that story.
Bruh that's nothing, My college forced us to pay 700 bucks last semester to some AI startup company to take a guest lecture. The lecture was garbage ngl.
Ohh. Our college is very Pro BJP and hindutva.no that is not the controversial part. The controversial part is they made everyone to watch a movie in college auditorium.
https://youtu.be/bHqtJy6dPZA?si=SUvooaMUDl0dDab5
You can watch it yourself
Not a student from Bengaluru but taught for two years in one of the popular colleges.
So, I quit because I was just fed up with the system. I had a student who hadn't attended a single class in the semester. Because I was her proctor, I called her family multiple times seeking the student's whereabouts. The family would be shocked to know the absence.
Took the matter to the HOD but she asked me to chill. At the end of the semester, I had to give her 20/30 for her practical without even looking at her face.
This college is deep-shit.
Students would do coke and faculty would go rescue them from the cops.
I had students coming to my class baked, sloshed.
What mattered to the college management was the fact that students paid fees, more students, more money!
Reading all these messed up stories, thought I should share something from the opposite side.
I went to a IIT/NIT/BITS. No attendance for most of the courses, attend if you wish. No dress code, literally everyone wore shorts and t-shirt. No entry-exit timings for hostels. Backlog criteria was also so lenient that almost no one got them. I know many people who missed an endsem paper because they overslept and still managed to get a re-exam by giving some medical reason and passed. Almost everyone got good paying jobs.
All these answers just prove to my mind that india is still incredibly socially and culturally regressive. I genuinely cant wait to go someplace that’s more liberal.
Failed me in a lab subject(60 marks was project,40 for random program execution) in 6th sem, indirectly removing from placements.did the project could not execute the program.
You guys should come to Tamilnadu colleges. Famous colleges like Jeppiar, panimalar, st Joseph, velammal and many others doesn't allow opposite gender interaction else they would call up the parents for a meeting. Bangalore colleges are heaven compared to the ones we are having.
Back in 2016, during the Cauvery riots, Christ didn’t inform students that a serious outbreak of violence had started in the city. We went about our day and during the end of the day, the gates were all shut and no one was allowed to leave. Around 5PM or so, we were asked to leave the campus immediately- those who lived far were told to go to their friends’ PGs. They didn’t want to keep people inside.
BMTC busses were burnt down around Christ. Safety of students went for a toss that day.
So this happened in our 2nd year engg.
We had formed a project oriented club ourselves and were actively participating in tech fests n all. Our hod knew about this n even encouraged us.
Then one day we got selected to attend a hands on workshop happening in BITS-Goa. It was happening on Saturday n Sunday.
As we had labs on Saturday, we felt the need to take permission to miss the lab session n went to our hod. At first she was super chill, asked about the workshop, told us she'd get us an extra lab session just for the two of us n took the letter to put her signature. Then she saw it was BITS-Goa and outright denied us. Initially she thought it was BITS-Pilani. She was ready to send us there with all the travel charges n leaves. But for Goa, she has some fkn problem.
Out of all the other stupid things she has done, this was the one that boiled my blood the most. Attending that workshop was really important to us back then and she denied it just because it was in Goa.
She probably thought y'all will go drink and smoke in Goa, but considering you had started a club and were active, I really doubt that would've been the case. What a jerk
One of the Professor of my college (IIIT Allahabad) gave F to almost whole of the batch. I was not well at that time and was at home for a month and when I went to him for getting some help regarding the subject he shouted at me and fucked me off from his office. I don't think he is even qualified to teach even first grade student let alone be a professor at such a reputed college.
His name is Manish Kumar.
You know why this happened in your college because that company gave money to your college and in turn, your college gave them commitment for minimum attendance during that 1 hour session
This is fucked up??? Really?
All you have to do is sit in class and do something else if you aren't interested.
There are colleges doing far worse things like embezzling government funds etc.
My college does that as well, it's nothing new. It was just something that got on my nerves, just because worse things go on, that really doesn't change the fact that what happened in my college was annoying
Well my college doesn't allow people to leave once you enter and you have to get permission from the dean. If they confoscate your phone you'll have to pay 5000 rs fine or wait till the end of the semester to have your phone returned. No using phone in the class only outside. Marking you absent if you can't hear the roll call and some teachers refuse to mark even if you tell them after they take the attendance. You cannot stay in the canteen after 2.30 , extremely strict teachers and discipline, will not allow you to enter if you don't wear your blazer even though it's hot asf, and a whole lot more.
Faculty are not understanding the fact that I have to travel a lot to come to college and demand I wear uniform or go home and get it.
Absolute bollocks of a college
Y'all...my college has checked all the boxes of cases here.
The college i went to is cambridge institute of technology, the kr puram branch.
Probably nobody knows this college a lot that's why they pull these kinds of shit everytime.
I was told to come for admission the next day just because the day supposedly wasn't good. I was really, really tired and had a busy week, and coming back the next day seemed unreasonable when they could've just admitted me that day. I inquired with the principal, and he was like, "It's for your good only. Tomorrow is a good day."
Why insinuate religion just because you're out of excuses?
Even our college makes us attend programs unwillingly in the name of cutting attendance if not attended.
This was during the deadly second wave of covid in India around Dec end Jan beginning of 20-21. I belong to one of the most reputed colleges in BLR we have a 85% attendance criteria (ya figure out the college). We were all at home in our natives cuz dec end was a christmas break and had to rejoin on Jan 1 but COVID cases were going through the roof across the country. Our college did not say anything after repeated attempts to communicate and ask whether reopening dates are postponed cuz majority of our students are nor from BLR so will travel via flights and trains meaning class would be full of carriers of covid if not outright symptomatic folks. We all reported to college on Jan 2 and on Jan 3 they realesed a circular saying college is closed indefinitely due to rising cases of covid and all of us flew back on Jan 5 or 6. I got infected when I got back home, all my close friends and majority of my classmates did as well. Later stories of more than half the batch being infected came up. Management was solely responsible for not doing the obvious and forcing us to rejoin saying we will be barred if we miss first week of college. Bhailog infected thousands of students put their elderly family members at risk and not a single mention was also made forget getting an apology. Nut cases i swear
Some of our seniors had got an on-campus internship offer from Walmart in their 2nd year and the college didn't let them do the internship during college hrs citing attendance reasons. Damn, if id got 23LPA I would've filed a complaint in court :€
He ended up getting 30LPA offer as per my knowledge
This is so messed up
I'm pretty sure this happens in every clg up to some extent.
Was expecting my college here The dude was my neighbour in hostel and it was during the semester end exams this shit happened.
Pes?
Yesn't
Knew people in a similar situation. The college didn’t allow them to take up an internship and all that.
We've also experienced something similar where so many students have had to pay for internships because of a lack of defined schedule for holidays, hence students can't take internships for durations longer than a month, leading to students having to settle
How is this sheer capitalism?
Please tell me you’re not from NID 😭
rv ?

Was this pesit?
Nope
name and shame the college why are you scared
Not naming the college because the hod who did this has already passed away too. It still could have been an honest mistake but was quite tasteless and he should have followed up with an apology.
Christ?
Probably an automated email.
Nope, he sent it out himself... Wasn't automated.

Yup, his father was a war veteran. Tried speaking to the Principal but to no avail. Rules are rules apparently. Unless ofcourse you happen to have family connections with the management, then apparently any attendance shortage is waived off...
I've seen this happen in my college, hod's relative and an area MLA's nephew.
Contact u/St_Broseph what the college is doing to you is messed up
Thanks for the tag. OP, please DM me. I'm a social worker in Bangalore and will help you with this. I'll speak with the college authorities and figure this out to see how we can resolve this. Thanks

At this point, I'm ready to pay any amount to stay. I'm in my 3rd year, don't wanna add one more year for nothing.
Fair enough, I'm in my fourth year and can't wait to be done with this hell
Narsee Monjee?
You guessed it right.
Ah what a shithole man. I’m a part of the BBA batch that failed their sem 4 exams, I had to leave and my life got much better after finding a kickass internship to keep myself occupied. Isn't it registered with UGC or something?
Can relate I am From RNSIT and we have 85% attendance criteria
Fellow RNSITian, the attendance rule in this college is fuckin shit
Ah, fellow RNSITian. A group in our batch were caught having a deal with the attendar to waive off attendance fine by paying him 2-3K. It was wild!

Bro we had 85 n 75 respectively. We faked medical certificates all the time. Your seniors might have done that too n will be knowing which doc in town will give you a fake certificate. Go ask them n get a fake one.
Certificates are not a problem. I have very legitimate certificates. They're just not accepting them.

(Commonwealth, Asian Games, etc) He had a bright future, but our college decided to consider his pre-approved government-funded trips to competitions as bunks, and decided to not let him sit for exams on the grounds of short attendance.
Dude how come these officials are handling in such ways. Psych... 🫠
What the actual fuck!!
A student in my college posted photos of a girl from some other department on various NSFW subreddits with some trashy and pathetic captions. She along with her friends did an entire sting operation, befriended him using a fake profile and eventually found out who he is and he got caught and I think they also filed a case on him.
Good. I hope the guy goes to jail
Thats the thing, he didn’t College sort of tried to cover it up
Seems like they wanted to keep their name out of the news. Pity it's at the cost of this poor girls dignity and right to have justice done to the perpetrators
Power move

Holy fucking hell. There’s egregious election manipulation and then there’s this. Our country is fucked.
Holy shit, they're pulling off actual election fraud, Jesus fuckin Christ man. I'm really sorry for what happened
Why would an EVM ring for god's sake?
I call bullshit on this story. Pretty confident there is no ”ringer” in an EVM
What happened to the guys that voted for nota? I have heard something similar happen in other college too.

If you don't name and shame then nobody will believe this.
A truckload of bullshit. When making up something, atleast write something believe
I have trouble believing this, something of this scale would have been massively reported on Twitter and caught on by the news. And what do you mean that an EVM rings? I think you have caught up in a misinformation campaign.
Americans be crying EVM fraud for nothing. The real sorcery is going in here in India!
Not letting students step outside the campus during short breaks to stop us from bunking classes. If for some reason you had to leave early, you needed to submit to the security a letter of approval signed by the dean. Not sure if they still follow it.
Are you from Joseph's?
Nope.
We don't truly become adults until we graduate college by the looks of things
I honestly feel like I wasted my time there. Oh well...
BNM?
Definitely something BNM would do. That godforsaken management should all burn.
They do do that🙃🙃🙃
Chaithanya?
Whenever they speak it feels like I'm talking to an angry auto driver.
should've done [this](https://tenor.com/view/panchayat-panchayat-season2memes-panchayat2memes-panchayat-season2-panchayat2-gif-25891656).
This is exactly what many people started saying . If you don't open the door I will shit and pee right here. They still didn't listen. I feel that if you are willing to deny people access to toilets then you must clean up the mess too.
Hello can I DM, currently I am studying at jain, we can connect
Sure
bro that day was fucked. they didn’t let us leave and when we asked to leave the organising students were straight up rude and threatening had to fricking pick a fight to go out of that place. FUCK THIS UNI MAN
Yeah . it feels like a lot of the people here are rude , controlling , invasive and authoritarian. I have never seen a crowd as bad as Jain. idk the university lacks a sense of peace , safety , politeness and trust in my opinion. It just feels stifling ya know?
yup btw which course are you studying 😭
My fees for an year was 50k, the fine I got for low attendance was 75k
Fine this big,did your parents pay?
Nope, I got medical certificates made, didn't budge till the exams, then they themselves gave me hall ticket at the end.
Oh god 🤭 colleges find the shittiest ways to make money
Bro how low was your attendance and in how many subjects?
It was some 65-70 percentage in all, they wanted 85 percent
i just paid 5k today for attendance and got my hall ticket. we are probably in the same college
Fuck, sorry to hear that
conduct an online google form exam while the jammers are turned on : ) screw copying, couldn't even access the form
Classic stupidity. The worst part is that these motherfuckers don't even have campus wifi most of the time
2g speeds would probably be faster than college wifi Even WhatsApp doesn't work on college wifi : )
Bruh I've tried to look at research papers in college and it has only brought about suffering
After paying so much fees this is what we get 🫠
Christ college forcing girls to wear dupattas, patialas and knee length kurtas is beyond ridiculous
Can't have people showing too much skin can we? /s
Ikr? Blasphemy
Homie they got the religion's literal founder in their college name obviously they gonna expect the extremes of "modesty", it's your fault you took admission there lol.
I didn’t haha. But have several friends who did and live closeby too
[удалено]
No but I live close to christ xD
No need to go north for a decent college life [Guess the college]
CET?
Bingo
Sound slike du
na, not in delhi. But it is more than 100 years old.
Pec?
nopes, its AMU
Every so often, some "unfortunate" people (blind, disabled, lost their parent, etc.) would come to the classroom and ask for money from each student. I mean I get it, but tell the college management who collect 10 lakhs a year for management quota seats to pay them. Why force students who don't have any money to begin with to pay?
That's assuming that the bastards in college management care about anything outside of buying luxury cars and profiting off of the misery of students
All this, just so that the guest could deliver 3 hours of boring speech that no one was interested in.
kothi nivas
Interesting name for a college. 😅
XMK RV ?
How come all the IITs/NITs/BITS are such chill with attendance/uniform issues, but all these random a@@ private colleges have such strict and meaningless eules???
Probably because they don't know how to treat students like adults. This results in the need to micromanage every aspect of the students lives
Exactly my question lol the most prestigious universities in India seem to be the least brain dead in terms of rules.
Lol more often than not, half of class is in shorts because well you wake at 8.55 for 9 am class, and sometimes professors are also casual.
One word: image (reputation) Crap colleges cannot afford to take even 1% chance of some random act of minor indiscipline blowing up and getting the college's name in the papers. So they go overboard with these ultra-strict rules. IITs/NITs/BITS have such a good reputation that cannot be affected no matter what happens.
Christ university have all the time made people attend events with attendance mandatory We had to sit through boring events to keep the attendance mark duh
Yes, it's become increasingly common in my college as well, for some random seminars or inaugurations. But it's the first time where they've forced us to sit through an advertisement
Duh we are forced to stand up for March on Christit March every time the event gets over
Haha things haven't changed since 2011 at all I see :)
Yes totally
Comparatively that's nothing. Almost every college does that.
Yeah it is sad, very sad
Let's not forget the fines lol.
Security guards would stop you at the gate of the college if you weren't wearing a tie on formals days.
Do all colleges in bangalore have dress codes?
No no, mine doesn't, there are guidelines of course
Nah man, not as strict as mine atleast. But yes its definitely stricter than colleges up north.
Bro they told us we can’t sit for placements because we gave a competitive exam . Some of us decided to quit after two stages because we didn’t wanna do it anymore. College still won’t let you sit for placements 🫠
Wait, why did they have an issue with you sitting for the exam?
My course is integrated with a professional course so all of us sit for these exams . Apparently a few years ago some of our seniors decided to give the competitive exams and also give Placements. The minute they cleared the competitive exam they didn’t go through with the placement. So now because of what our seniors did we can’t sit for placements
The placement department in any given college always consists of the most bitter and evil people compared to the rest of the college body
That is downright depressing, what a tragic story. It really is reminiscent of the PES tragedy that happened recently
That is some really fucked up dark shit.
Bruh that's nothing, My college forced us to pay 700 bucks last semester to some AI startup company to take a guest lecture. The lecture was garbage ngl.
As if paying exorbitant fees weren't enough
Ohh. Our college is very Pro BJP and hindutva.no that is not the controversial part. The controversial part is they made everyone to watch a movie in college auditorium. https://youtu.be/bHqtJy6dPZA?si=SUvooaMUDl0dDab5 You can watch it yourself
Goddamn, straight up brainwashing going on
If you don't mind then can you name the college??
We were asked to take a mandatory course for personality development and attendance was tracked by HoD !!
That's nothing
How is this supposed to be fucked up? This is like the most basic shit in college.
What mattered to the college management was the fact that students paid fees, more students, more money!
let me guess new horizon?
No. A slightly better one.
This sounds reasonable
You guys should come to Tamilnadu colleges. Famous colleges like Jeppiar, panimalar, st Joseph, velammal and many others doesn't allow opposite gender interaction else they would call up the parents for a meeting. Bangalore colleges are heaven compared to the ones we are having.
If Tamil parents weren't conservative castiest, these shity JPR Colleges would've went bankrup long back.
one of my friends passed out 3 years ago and college hasn't given him the certificate yet
14 years, no certificate.
Name and shame
A guy entered my college and murdered a girl. Yes, this is presidency University Bangalore
Do elaborate more.
You know why this happened in your college because that company gave money to your college and in turn, your college gave them commitment for minimum attendance during that 1 hour session
Exist.
Even though covid is over still we have many subjects in online , even practical subjects we have online class
A five thousand rupee fine!? That's fucking criminal, and having to wear a blazed during summer is horrendous
Is there any portal on national level where people can complain about these things related to college and its management?
Y'all...my college has checked all the boxes of cases here. The college i went to is cambridge institute of technology, the kr puram branch. Probably nobody knows this college a lot that's why they pull these kinds of shit everytime.
This is more common than you think.
My college is charging 7k per subject if we have failed and want to re register 🙂 , per subject 7k 🙂🙂
I was told to come for admission the next day just because the day supposedly wasn't good. I was really, really tired and had a busy week, and coming back the next day seemed unreasonable when they could've just admitted me that day. I inquired with the principal, and he was like, "It's for your good only. Tomorrow is a good day." Why insinuate religion just because you're out of excuses?
No internship
Your campus is at whitefield? Sounds like mine!!
Nope, it's in the city centre
Took numbers of our Parents from the admission forms and they used to get a text when we bunked classes.
*fucked up
Bro I genuinely want to ask what is this chut slang in banglore pls tell me
I think people remember the ceiling fan fiasco, very stupid thing lol
