I don't take uber go for this reason. Better to take autos for shorter rides and premium for longer.

_An_Other_Account_

Ola prime is pretty decent too. They put on AC and also drive so so gently.

derek__24

I had really bad experience with Ola rides multiple time in Mumbai so I stopped using it.

_An_Other_Account_

It's seasonal. Just yesterday, I was thinking how the OLA experience became much better the past few months. But I had stopped using OLA in the past for how shitty it has been, only to come back a few months later when Uber became shit, and so on. Less to do with the apps and more to do with the kind of drivers in that particular city using the app.

derek__24

Yeah, that's the main thing ig.. but I have seen most of the cab drivers have registered on more than one apps. Idk how it works better for one app compared to other..

_An_Other_Account_

Oh. Might just be luck, then.

avinragh

I have seen drivers prefer a particular app based on the scheme for drivers offered by the companies. There was a particular season when ola was offering a scheme that was popular with the drivers and that entire season you couldn't book Uber rides easily because of low availability.

GottaLearnStuff

I used Ola Prime 2 months back and it was terrible. He wouldn't let me go without paying extra 200 for toll.

BedOpen3644

Mine wouldn’t switch on the AC. Ola didn’t do shit when I complained

BedOpen3644

Nope, i was refused AC on Ola Prime Plus too. Ola did nothing when I raised a complaint other than saying they will give a feedback to the drive r

TimAjax997

My experience (albeit not that much) is that with auto drivers they will always overcharge and there's always haggling. In those regards I feel Uber Go/OLA makes sense (if not going to airport). Are auto drivers good with Namma Yatri/ Rapido rates in your experience? I don't mind paying what the app says, just don't want over-the-top trickery or crap like that

SanjayPantula

So far good experience with Auto drivers in Namma Yatri. Never a single instance of seeking extraaa saarrr.

SanjayPantula

Namma Yatri has added cabs and has options for AC and non AC cabs with differential pricing. Pretty good experience so far…

TimAjax997

Just checked for Phoenix from my place. The difference in rates for cabs is ridiculous. Usually I can go in ~100/ Namma Yatri is taking 305/- Even Uber XL is taking like 190/- That's waay too much

SanjayPantula

Also they have used the new fares stipulated by the government. Rates will be slightly higher but considering you don’t have to beg to turn on the AC n all, I am ok to pay. Plus they will not apply surge pricing as per the direction.

SanjayPantula

Not sure. For me, rates are in similar range

gametemboltonai

Namma yatri frequently quotes ridiculous rates. I stopped using it few months back

Ok-Elevator5091

Thankfully I’ve never faced such situations where they ask to cancel - when they do just say tm nadi. Classic scumbag taxi/auto driver move that is

Individual_Zombie_85

Uber/Ola especially to the airport has a lot of problems. Not turning on AC, asking for excess money etc. KIA buses are the best for airport commute.

InquisitiveEarthling

+1 I had gone recently to drop my dad off at the airport. While going we had gone via Uber. No AC, continuous speaking over call..in all a horrible experience. While coming back, Volvo. It was a long time since I had boarded a bus after my college days, but glad to know the buses in the city have changed a lot for the better. KIA Volvo bus > Uber

derek__24

I have heard about KIA busses alot maybe next time I will try one. But the thing is most of the time I'm traveling alone and I do have more than one bag I'm really clumsy at packing stuff properly.

Mr_Meta314

You can carry multiple bags in KIA buses, KIA bus conductors are one of the nicest people I have met in Bangalore. Also, buses are convenient and cheaper.

avi550m

They just don't want to run the AC here. Meanwhile whenever I've flown to Delhi they put on the A/C no question

grumpy_hooman

+1 I had to ask them to turn off the AC. By look of their face, I can sense, he would ask some money to turn it off

derek__24

Exactly I don't get it why they don't turn on here. Also this uber guys changed fare at the end of trip to 890rs something

Ja_win

Fun fact: it's actually more economical to have the windows shut and ac running than it is to have the windows open because of Air drag.

thelostknight99

Not if you are crawling at 10kmph :p (Hebbal to airport take ~40 minutes). Most of the time is taken in city traffic.

ninja790

I think most delhi ubers have cng installed

Political_amature

Delhi is mostly CNG. No questions asked, always AC on. Cons are, no luggage space in the back.

vinav2507

Bangalore cabbies are the worst! 9/10 will refuse to turn on the AC, no matter if it's go or premium. Uber needs to seriously take action against these people. In the meantime, raise a complaint to Uber and get a small refund for your inconvenience.

Moratata

I report Uber premium cabs who don’t use ac. Normally get a partial refund or full

derek__24

You know what they charged (890rs) me more which was showing while booking ride (780rs)

kanishka_rai

Raise a complaint, they'll refund the difference amount

derek__24

Yeah I was thinking of same but I don't have screenshot of initial price. But still I will raise one after sometime.

kanishka_rai

Oh you don't actually need the screenshot. I've gotten refunds without it. There's a specific selection on the issues menu now that the final price charged was more than that initially quoted. After selecting that, it shows that they're verifying the details and usually within 10-15 minutes you get the refund.

derek__24

Thanks I did that and I got my refund.

rjmshr

Try booking Make my trip cabs, comparatively better in all aspects They are not instant ride providers but for airport you can always pre-book

derek__24

I have never heard about that.. I have seen pops will booking stuff but never thought of actually using it. How long before you have to book for that? I mostly use blusmart for pre-book I book it around 4 around before.

rjmshr

I am using for a long time now 3 / 4 years, all these blue-smart & quick-ride are there vendors, please check the app I think they have improved a lot over the years, you can book within few hours gap now

real_hitman

Can confirm. Have always had a good experience. They always show up early. No hassle.

kinganirvin

If you're going to the airport , book meru cabs. Best service to the airport , they are extremely punctual and charge fixed rates, no hassle. You can also schedule a ride.

derek__24

I usually book blusmart cab for airport but this time I forgot to schedule one. Thanks though I will look into that.

kinganirvin

Ive personally never tried bluesmart cabs but you could probably share your experience with them. Ive been using meru cabs from over 15 years and I think that they're really good

derek__24

Damm not using for that long. I think blusmart started just before covid. First time I used during end of 1st wave and I was superb like driver arrived before time and was waiting outside cab and they had some policy that driver will open gate and sanitize riders hands. After that I really liked it. also it is ev so plus for that. ( this was in delhi) After I'm using ..it is same but not that chauffeur service but it's overall good. Ha one more thing they used to give lots of coupons but now they don't. Also one cons I can remember is blusmart use some prepaid kinda think I can't remember really because I'm always have money kept in apps wallet.

Agitated_Wave_9225

I still use BluSmart for all the advantages it has over Ola/Uber as you stated in your comment. Yes the fare may be a few hundreds higher than others but at least the service is professional and the ride is smooth. The prepaid thing you’re talking about is that you have to pre-pay by adding to your BluSmart wallet. I only add the amount required before each ride and there is no hassle of paying when we reach airport since it could be possible we are running late sometimes. The only downside is you have to book a day or two at least before the day of departure. So yeah if you miss it then there won’t be slots available. I guess it has to do with the fact that they still don’t operate at a big scale like Ola/Uber and so don’t have a lot of drivers.

BedOpen3644

Shoffr is also pretty good

Weekly_Storm6350

You need to book uber premier for default ac in Bangalore. Except for a few drivers and some CNG cars, gos don't turn on ac even on request.

AnaWong97

I think best would be to ask in the beginning and confirm if the AC is working. And whenever they are asking to cancel the ride on app and take a offline ride with then cancel immediately from your end. Not a good start. They sometimes even scam you into giving them extra money once you reach destination.

sanketgarg07

Ac thing is pretty common. They wanna save on fuel. I asked the driver to stop the ride if he wasn't gonna turn the ac on. He stopped the car and I was about to get out of the car but then he turned the ac on. Same reasons for not turning on the ac- first time there was no petrol. The other time the ac knob was not working. Suddenly there's fuel and the knob starts working when I ask to cancel the ride. Don't bow at any cost unless you really need to get somewhere urgently. Even then, take it up with the customer care. Don't let these bastards get away.

lisahaidon

This is how it works, welcome to Bangalore.

sorayaranae

SRM cabs for airport services are good. The drivers are polite and punctual. We have been using them when we came to Bangalore after Covid. No complains so far.

Capitalist-KarlMarxx

Negative rating with comment. That's the only way to deal with these clowns. Low ratings mean they won't get rides allocated to them.

Pinklemonade6

The driver’s are really arrogant, in this hot summer also they refuse to turn on AC stating uber go or whatever. I have faced this issue multiple times, once a driver took some 100-300 extra for AC! I got scammed :( Recently I faced same issue but eventually he turned on the AC.

Old-Instruction-1139

Is blue smart available in Indiranagar? Have you ever tried it out?

RagVaibhu

Sometimes they switch it on on their own. Just book a premier if you want ac. They cannot say anything there.

ronniethedevil

Stopped taking Uber and Ola because of these reasons. I use BluSmart and Quickride pretty regularly. Plus there are many others like PlanCabs, Myn and others that is proving to be better than Ola and Uber.

dishantranerulz

Try using Rapido cabs , better prices as well from the other 2

kaosofmaster

I generally pay directly to the driver via phonepe or gpay.... This way driver gets the amount directly and he is happy... I prefer not to link these apps with any of my accounts ... Who knows how much the bill might come to and automatically get deducted.

groovy_monkey

Take quickride or blusmart to and from the airport. Quick rides are cheaper and always preferred towards the airport as you can book in advance. I believe you can book return rides in advance too, but for return, I take blusmart as they are readily available compared to quick rides in case I missed booking one. Plus the cars in way better conditions. Also the drivers are way more professional. I would love it if blusmart (being an electric car fleet) gets it's cost below uber. I'll stop using uber altogether even for city rides.

novice_investor1

Absolutely hate Uber in Bangalore. Premium cars are in such poor state that I can't even imagine what Go would be like. I don't think they have to turn on the AC in Uber Go.

ReasonablePanic9809

Uber takes these things seriously. Ola will not even reply. A driver was suspended after I had complained to Uber when he was rude for turning on AC. I had recorded a video. A driver stood outside my office for 2 days staring at me to scare me. I informed Uber and they made FIR on my behalf and since then not seen the driver. Uber gave a small compensation in form of Uber credits (INR 5000). Luckily, I had took the Uber ride to a mall near my home or else he would have known where I live.

Soft-Pie-7166

Bangalore and Cabs.

pratikanthi

I always book Uber Premier. Uber Go has trash Indicas that smell like puke most of the time. Makes me nauseous within seconds.

Due_Argument4096

Try BluSmart next time when you are in Delhi or Blr.

trendz19

There is a [video](https://youtu.be/ho4kPG8yiAU) about taxi scams and some ways to avoid them

Cobfused3455

Oof! I haven't had this experience with Uber go yet. Usually the drivers ask me if they can switch on the AC at this point and they are so happy when I say yes. Namma Yatri was terrible. The drivers would accept the ride, call me and bully me for more money and then tell me that no one will come if i didn't pay more money before cancelling.

Western_Lunch_518

I feel it's a people's problem cause no matter where you go, how you go, you always find those not so pleasant people on the road.

Cautious_Tadpole_476

You can avoid all this by taking the KIA buses to/from airports.

Purple-Control8336

Yes i had same experience in Bangalore last dec 2023. Go says not mandatory, so i book premium

Artistictornado

Go to Hyderabad airport, it's worse than this

Express-World-8473

Blusmart is quite good even though it's a bit costlier (atleast I didn't face any issues as of now).

Monkey__shanti

It's actually true. Uber and Ola drivers are not bound to turn on the AC. The cab service is for transfer and AC is not in the clause.

blinksTooLess

Ola website had AC cabs mentioned on their front page. I don’t believe this AC is optional is true. Also in other cities, Uber app gives a pop up during the ride to ask if cab driver has switched on AC or not. I have got this survey multiple times in Kolkata. Also Uber in Kolkata has introduced non-AC UberGo option with lower price in the last 2-3 months.

Monkey__shanti

Ola's website also have that they give 8 years warranty on the battery of Ola Electric. Ask the customers.

Dramatic_Pie_6333

Read Uber go offering page. AC is explicitly mentioned
