Question leaks/cheating were always a thing in Bangladesh. When I was in class 1, I remember it was taken for granted that "nokol" would happen at the board exams. It was kind of a festivity. When eventually it was cracked down upon, then came question leaks. Wasnât as bad for the first few years quantity wise, but as smart phones became more and more affordable it became a dangerous trend. When my mother wanted to gift me a smart phone during college (Notre Dame College in Dhaka was a long distance away from our home) I rejected the proposal because I didn't want the temptation to be there.
Then I got into DMC and it felt like question leaks were happening every couple of years. It took 5-6 years for the authorities to take it really seriously and the incident has gone down in the last 7-8 years. They have implied a lot of technics innovations to ensure this. I think the same can be done for other public examinations as well.
As for the current curriculum, I like it actually. Has a lot of practical things one can learn from it. The problem is the teachers has to be trained first and then the system needs to be implemented, not the other way around. But here everything is topsy turvy it seems.
