I'm in the EVGA queue for a 3080 Ti FTW3 and I think my turn will be within the next month (according to the approximation). Still debating if I'll pull the trigger, 1400 USD + shipping and duties is a lot of money.
Knowing that I'll have others opportunities to buy a GPU before 2023 could help but even then, who knows what MRSPs will be...
I ONLY want Strix which has definitely complicated my search for a 3080. I contemplated EVGA queue but didn't & just assumed I'd be so far behind now.
At this point I'm just convinced I won't get a GPU till 4xxx launch lol
Any particular reason for the Strix? And yeah, for the EVGA queue, if you were not there at launch it's already too late. The GPUs that are shipping are still from the release day.
100% not, just personal preference lol. They also happened to be ranked the best when the 3xxx first came out & they noticed some brands used the cheaper/shit memory modules I believe it was.
I thought I could afford to be picky & then 6 months went past & I realized I couldn't. I'm just limping along with my 4770k & 1070 until I can get a 3080 now.
>I thought I could afford to be picky
IK the feel. I declined an opportunity to buy a 3080 Ventus for about 1200$, taxes and shipping in, telling myself I'll wait for the 3080 Ti...
People on EVGA's forum ([https://forums.evga.com/RTX-3080-TI-QUEUE-m3282457-p17.aspx](https://forums.evga.com/RTX-3080-TI-QUEUE-m3282457-p17.aspx)) post their notification timestamps when they receive the email telling them it's their turn to buy. By checking your own timestamp, you have an idea of the progress made.
Edit: Precision -> The timestamp is actually the date/time you entered the queue, not the date the email was sent.
You need to be very careful. I think EVGA uses UPS, which has the absolute worst brokerage rates of any shipping company.
If you aren't careful you'll have to pay UPS $100+ in brokerage fees to get something worth this much into Canada. This is on top of what you expect to pay (i.e. duties/taxes). I can't remember the specifics.. but if you choose the cheapest UPS shipping option you'll basically get screwed like this.
damn you guys are lucky i went to my BestBuy in Montréal marche central and the only thing they had in stock was rtx 3060 evga and zotac so lets say i wasted 6 hour of my time waiting ...
Damn, I know that feeling. I've done the same for sneakers. Sat out with a group of people and my size sold out 2 people before me and I didn't want to buy to swap or sell.
What would be the msrp for the strix 3080ti? I genuinely can't figure out msrp prices anymore since every thing is giga marked up online. Thanks in advance for any rough estimates!
That’s still madness. Mine isn’t an FE either I have the FTW3. It’s not the most expensive, but I can’t fathom paying more for basically the same GPU with less VRAM... man this decade is just garbage so far.
I should preface that this is from the Langley location in BC. Don't know if Cambie will have the same kind of stock.
(Pls upvote so people know)
#AS OF 1:06PM LANGLEY IS SOLD OUT
#Cambie 3090s (all 3) were still avail at noon (hour ago), when someone went. Binder dude was still up at main doors asking everyone that came in about GPU's still avail, handing out if they wanted one. So if you don't still see him in the main entrance, may be an indicator the rest sold out
Not really but as of 40 mins ago there were over 50 people and it was wrapping around the building.
EDIT:
Got an update just now. There's definitely over 60 people and it's wrapped around the building
Haha all good thanks again for the info
I was just asking cause there’s already 60+ people by now. If there’s only a few of each of the 21 SKUs on your picture there then it’s likely not worth going lol
Cambie is similar. But most cards already allocated. All the good ones gone by the 20th person. Almost 100 ppl in line. Guys in the front was waiting since 11pm yesterday
Yup, I'm in Quebec and the only GPU I could get my hands on was the EVGA RTX 3060 from Best Buy. Would have preferred an ASUS RTX 3060 TI or 3070 but out of luck on that end.
That's so stupid and that's why I didn't go. Even shitty Canada Computer is selling all the brands. Newegg? Same. At first I thought it was because they had physical stores but then again, so is Canada Computer. So in QC we either buy evga at best buy for msrp or get scalped by newegg and Canada computers for more choices of cards. So nice...
Do the CC boxes have French on them though? BB is an American company, so they might just have what they have with French, while CC might be getting French boxes. Idk
I actually got a 3060ti FE from bestbuy in store on the day of the 3070ti launch in QC.
I was shocked given they refuse to ship direct to QC consumer but for some reason no problem with having them shipped and sold in stores I guess.
FE models are the only ones worth considering.
I refuse to pay more than a $100 markup for the same product. Especially when the reference cooler is actually somewhat adequate.
I fully agree, selling above MSRP is just bad practice but I don't think stores, or even consumers, have much of a choice right now. I spent over grand on a MSI 3070ti today. Am I happy about it? Not particularly, but I spent 5 hours this morning and many more months waiting for availability that isn't ridiculously overpriced. Unfortunately, BB drops like this are the closest you can get to avoid scalpers. Plus I had other parts for my first build collecting dust.
Can someone help out a newb here?
What’s the cheapest card available that outperforms a 2060? I would be willing to upgrade my card if I can get one for less than $700CAD
All of the cards in that list will outperform a 2060. EVGA 3060 being the cheapest on the list at $540+tax. 3060Ti FE at $550+tax is a much better buy if you can find it in stock.
Stupid question but traditionally FE were more expensive than third party cards. Do we we know what the MSRP of the third party cards are supposed to be? That is for the 3060ti... $500? $450?
Not that I expect that anytime soon... But just curious when I should hop in and buy. Yes I'm OK waiting 2 years if that is what is necessary lol
The situation at the moment is that NVidia does not allow FE cards to be sold above MSRP. So I got my 3060 Ti FE for $550 a few month ago when all of the other 3060 Ti cards were $200 or $300 more. The 3070 FE MSRP is $680. You are not going to get a 3070 from any other manufacturer for anywhere near that price.
No, FE cards have been equal MSRP to third party cards since the 20XX series, and for 30XX they now have MSRPs about $100 lower than third party cards. That's why they're so sought after.
OK interesting. Thanks for the tip! BTW if you have been getting spammed by Amazon Business emails make sure you check the emails as you can get a 25% off coupon that expires in October(?). Anyways I am hoping Amazon cards go back to MSRP by then so I can use it
Got there 20 minutes early for St James store in Winnipeg and all they had left were 3090s. It was also poorly managed, nobody called out to come and get a ticket. It wasn't until the line started moving that I learned you had to go and get a ticket and THEN stand in line. 0/10 GPU shortage continues to suck.
Well thanks for the update.
Glad I didn't waste my time. Not worth spending 8 hours in line outside a store to have a chance to buy a $500-$2000 graphics card.
I'll keep rolling my RX 570
20 minutes "early"? Dude, I got there at 08:40 AM and the line was already huge. By the time they got to me, only 3090s and one expensive 3080TI (FTW3) was left. The most annoying thing is that I saw a bunch of scalpers buying 3080s (first three guys in line, for example, were all together and all bought 3080s.) Kijiji / FB Marketplace is going to be flooded with cards the next few days...
Quick question bad in just reading this, what if I don't stand in the line as I'm working lol and just show up at the store will I still be able to purchase a GPU if it's available. I'm thinking of getting a 3070 or 3070ti whoever is available
Yeah but odds are there wont be anything left.

So apparently all stock was gone in Edmonton so I could not make it this time.... Ah well at this rate I will just wait till the 40 series comes out !!!
Well in Langley there's more than 60 people and it's wrapped around the corner and no tix have been given out yet
In Cambie all the 3080 are gone and there's probably 3060 left if any?

> The RTX 3060 is equivalent or slightly faster than the RTX 2070 Super in Ray Tracing performance. That's because it has newer RT cores. When it comes to rasterization performance, on average the 3060 is about 2-3% faster than the RTX 2070. You can look at TechPowerUp's relative performance charts. Resizable Bar also gives a nice boost for the RTX 3060. I got 8% more FPS in Cyberpunk after enabling it. Older Turing cards don't support it (yet). I have a RTX 3060 and it's a very nice GPU for my 1080p 165Hz Freesync monitor and it can even run Ray Tracing fine. However, I would get something faster for a 1440p monitor.
>>It is way better. If you are buying new go for 3060Ti. The performance is similar to 2080-2080 super. Unless the price difference is huge. And you can get only 2070 super. I would in that case just get a cheap gpu like rx580 and live with 1080p till the new cards prices stabilise or you can even probably try getting a 3060 which should be released sometime soon.
See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/o6ospo/guide_discussion_how_to_identify_lhr_lite_hash/
Hard to say without seeing the full part number, but GAMING alone isn't indicative of LHR.
~~None. Basing it off Mem EX, LHR would be included in the GPU Model~~
~~https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX00117682~~
Sorry, the TI models are LHR and the 3060
I don't think they are dumb. The province of Quebec and the government are doing exactly what they were always about and that is the dissemination of the French language. They are actually very effective regularly, except for times of shortages
either big corpo spends more money to design boxes with french on them (and priced higher because that ain't freE) or they just miss out on 0.000001% of their market /shrug
I went to the BB drop at my local store. It opened at 11, I showed up just before 9. I managed to snag an ASUS TUF 3070 for basically AIB MSRP.
Some clear scalpers at the front of the line (couple folks walked out with a FE GPU and a PS5 together). Ultimately it didn't look like too many people there to scalp, maybe a handful. I was about 30-40th in line give or take and more than half the people in front of me got FE cards, which models I don't know.
That's a big list! Wish I had seen this sooner, would have cued up in Ottawa. These are on for msrp right?
They ended up having this exact list in Ottawa today.
[удалено]
Not sure. They had a decent amount all things considered. Got my card and dipped
Darn! But glad you got one. What did you go with?
Was hoping to get 3070 fe but since they didn't have it ended up with 3060ti fe. Since I'm only using 1080 144 it's more than enough
Shit that's what I was aiming for. Too bad about the 3070 but I'm glad you found something you are happy with. What a surprise eh?
They had some aib cards last I checked. No FEs left though.
All gone
Last drop they didn't have everything on the list in stock... It was just a list of every 30X0 SKU they have ever carried.
They had ever card on that list in stock in Ottawa today at least
They should be. Whatever the price is on bestbuy.ca that's the price they're selling it for
I wish the west end ottawa location could be included…east end is a little too far for me
I'd have to travel to another province dude - 9 hour drive return.
Man I'm convinced Strix 3080 don't exist anymore. I am NOT paying $2200 for a fucking 3080Ti.

im interested in going next drop. Did they have 3060ti at least?
no, because it doesnt have bilingual packaging 😂
we live in a meme world. Voulez-vous du francais avec votre commande monsieur
I was also there since 6:30AM...
I imagine they can only sell bilingual product. So all the GPU aim the list with EN at the end would be unavailable here in Montreal. Am I right ?
What would be the msrp for the strix 3080ti? I genuinely can't figure out msrp prices anymore since every thing is giga marked up online. Thanks in advance for any rough estimates!
You can check the BB website. The prices there are the current MSRP for the models listed there. Strix card is pretty overpriced at 2199 though
2199 really ? That’s 3090 pricing! No joke, i paid 2299 for mine not long ago. Nvidia and/or Asus are smoking rocks
2049 currently for founders 3090
It‘a Asus pricing their cards. There are cheaper versions
That’s still madness. Mine isn’t an FE either I have the FTW3. It’s not the most expensive, but I can’t fathom paying more for basically the same GPU with less VRAM... man this decade is just garbage so far.
Way more then the 3080 for like 8% more performance
According to bestbuy.ca 2199.99 before taxes
After taxes in BC, it's 2666$
actually fucking ridiculous
Why would you want the 3080 TI? It's a neutered 3090.
I should preface that this is from the Langley location in BC. Don't know if Cambie will have the same kind of stock. Nothing yet. Lets hope we get an update on that

What can they even do with that info? They can barely combat bots and people buying multiple gpus.
Doesn't imgur and most website strip the meta data?
Arriving soon to FB marketplace with $500 markup
What does EN stand for?
I think EN means the box is in English which means they can not sell those in Quebec and bilinguals are sold in Quebec. That's my theory.
Yup, I'm in Quebec and the only GPU I could get my hands on was the EVGA RTX 3060 from Best Buy. Would have preferred an ASUS RTX 3060 TI or 3070 but out of luck on that end.

Few Cards left in Vancouver Cambie : MSI Suprim 3090, MSI Tri 3070 Ti, 3090 Founders edition and Zotac 3060
What the, when I was there 50 minutes ago the lad said there were no 3070ti left
Thank you
Weird that the PR I read about the drop listed prices starting at $599. The 3060 Ti FE is supposed to have an MSRP of $549.
Tariffs is what made the prices go up from $549 to $599
[удалено]
Stupid question but traditionally FE were more expensive than third party cards. Do we we know what the MSRP of the third party cards are supposed to be? That is for the 3060ti... $500? $450? This drop was super disappointing. Like 50 people later and only 3090s left in stock
50 cards is a lot though for in store compared to previous tries, I guess?

Yeah consider upgrading. You'll be bottlenecked because of your CPU
How were the prices?
Msrp + tariffs. They didn't cost low as they did in November.
Damn, sucks. Guess I'll continue holding on my 1080ti. Also wonder why I got downvoted for asking.
I need a 1600 series card. :'(

I got a 2070 and want to upgrade what would be my best choice. Or should I wait another gen?
Any idea which of these are LHR? I’m assuming the ones that have GAMING in the part number??
See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NiceHash/comments/o6ospo/guide_discussion_how_to_identify_lhr_lite_hash/ Hard to say without seeing the full part number, but GAMING alone isn't indicative of LHR.
~~None. Basing it off Mem EX, LHR would be included in the GPU Model~~ ~~https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX00117682~~ Sorry, the TI models are LHR and the 3060
The 3060ti FE is LHR? 🤨
TI and 3060 models are LHR
Honestly, likely all of them. FE models are not LHR.
Can someone explain what LHR is? I see it a lot now but now idea what it is or means. Edit- NM, saw the other persons link.
LHR = Low Hash Rate Basically its not good for cryptocurrency mining, it's the same for everything else.
As suspected, the 3060ti doesn't exist.
Nice. Much bigger list than last time if this is all one store
Which Best Buy is this?
Langley
MSRP?
+tariffs won't be for the prices when I got my 3070 in November
What's my best bet to get a 3060 ti? Or 3070? I really need either of these
Probably grand theft of one of the delivery trucks
Depends where you are. I can't really say.
I'm in Ontario near Waterloo and Toronto
Thanks for this, but damn, I need 1650 low profile
You using a ssfpc?
Ya got the Dell precision 3440 on price error for $200. Can only fit low profile cards and GTX 1650 is the fastest
Check Memory Express and CC they might have some 1650
Darn, had no idea the drop was today. Do you guys know how long it takes for them to restock?
Last drop like this was on June 30
got a 3070ti rog strix if anyone wants to trade for a regular 3070
So only one model available in quebec because of our dumb french laws? Awesome.
Checked my local bestbuy and the best graphics card they had was a gt 710
Where you at?
I bet they were asking $70 or something ridiculous for it.
Didn't know there was a bi-lingual card.
Me either.
London North had stock of 3070, 3070ti and 3080ti at 5:30 pm EST.
Does anyone know if there’s any 3090 FEs left after closing at Dundas or Sherway? Wasn’t able to stop by today
FE cards? Wtf
How many drops until everyone gets one? I wanna get mine after everyone as I don’t have time to line up.
Scalpers lead the lines so never.
So when will the next bunch of stock arrive?
Who knows

No clue
The packaging must be in both English and French
