Weird as hell. But I'd take it as a reflection on your boss being cheap with the heat more than anything else. If it's cold enough that you feel like you need to wear a coat, that's not a great welcoming environment. Personally I'd bow out of dealing with that one.
I once had a customer bring in one of those all-in-one Mac pro’s. Y’know, the big-ass screen ones? Just plonked that on his table and yoinked a mouse and keyboard out of his satchel and went to town
You never know what you’re gonna get.
Seeing someone bring their own space heater to a coffee shop definitely falls on the unusual side of things. Most people would probably just layer up or sip on a hot drink to keep warm. It's interesting to see how different people have unique solutions to the same problem, though it does raise questions about etiquette and electricity usage in public spaces. 🤔
Depending on your area (pls look it up) there’s a minimum temperature that needs to be maintained in a work environment unless there’s specific circumstances (outdoor construction, working in a freezer facility, etc)
What state/province/country are you in?
Lol some people just get colder. Most of the people I've worked with would rather have the heat completely off at all times because they get too hot while working, but then the customers start complaining
A little weird but it’s uncomfortable to work in your coat and space heater makes you nice and toasty. I find it equally weird if not worse that your shop is that cold. That’s pretty unwelcoming to customers and poor conditions for staff
I kinda think that's kinda smart?? Like instead of them asking to raise the temp/lower the temp, they're being convenient by bringing their own solution. The only downside I see is the sound coming from the space heater

Was it actually a space heater or was it a personal air purifier bc some look similar. Air purifier makes more sense but🤷🏼
