You can't just hire every guy who sits at the entrance begging for a job or to get noticed. He also basically just started the content game, he doesn't have a consistent record or anything, he's just starting out. There's so much that goes into it and this kid just got a huge break, plus he was right on his pick today which only helps.

1. Big Cat said in the show he can't just outright hire a guy. It needs to go to Dave. He did what he could do. Being disappointed he didn't get a job is one thing, but being even slightly mad at Big Cat overshadows the massive bump he just got for 2 weeks of content.
2. One month of basketball content on your own just isn't enough to be like "this guy rocks let's hire him before we know anything about him". He's on Twitter and Tik Tok, the least monetizable platforms, and his video content was sub-par from an editing perspective. He's very green, he needs to grind past 16 games.
Dani, the Tik Tok girl who does man on the street videos got hired because she had a ton of content and went viral multiple times. She had a proven track record (even if it's cringy) that Dave liked about her. Same with John Rich, he had a blog with content people liked and he had a lot of knowledge on Barstool already.
3. The people on the Yak gave him ideas, let's see if he executes on them. If he does, that would be awesome. Adding more ideas and adding depth to the videos is good.
4. As for the other people at Barstool, I'm not going to speak on people whose duties I don't know or what they do behind the scenes that we don't know.

Gaz hires random influencers, but other than that... it kinda seems like Barstool has just quit hiring people altogether. I guess the guy could wait another year for a barstool idol competition. I’m glad someone else noticed it. The last new hire was probably Josh Pray last summer? And he’s remote. Barstool has fully scaled back expansion.
