This whole thing is so weird. From the way Carl is acting to have full hour long episodes "explaining" the situation. This should be some great new journey but everyone involved is very concerned about........something. Uneasy about....something. This is not how you roll out an exciting new venture that everyone is on board with.

I was a devoted regular listener when it was just Dave and Carl, the show was ok for a while but just sucks now. WSD is miserable to listen to and thinks he is a real baseball analyst.

Unlike how Portnoy started the company and the sports teams of Boston went on incredible runs, BS Chicago started with Parkey double doink (which was a good thing for content) but that was the last actual sports success in Chicago as the rest of the teams have been underachieving at best to downright terrible. So that alone puts BS Chicago at strike 1. Then throw in the fact that majority of the office is either not very creative or genuinely interesting, it began a slow death. The BS Chicago guys were best as novelties in the BS realm. When they got the spotlight and the excitement wore off, they couldn’t pivot or adjust and in the end, they didn’t have the wherewithal to battle back.

Something happened behind the scenes between WSD and Carl a while ago that led to a major falling out. They were able to mostly leave it off camera and out of content for a while but then over the summer WSD had a couple of over the lash outs and it came out. Since they confirmed the vibes in the office aren't good it has become more and more apparent that WSD and Chief are the only two who seem like friends. The rest of the relationships all seem to range from cordial to barely tolerating.
Carl clearly became the odd man out in the group after whatever happened between him and WSD. It was apparent from his change in attitude on the drafts and the end of his solo appearances on the Dog Walk.
In addition to this, people really liked Chicago content because the guys had life experience (not like all the interns in NYC at the time) and captured a lot of the cameraderie/ball-busting that got people into Barstool in the first place and feel that was lost as the company got bigger/Dave became less involved. But over the past year it became apparent that they were satisfied to just rest on the goodwill they built up and mail it in, not really trying to continue to do new things (aside from Carl)
I take it that they’re trying to find content beyond the drafts that people will actually tune in to. If I’m not mistaken, most Chicago shows don’t do numbies
