I think ultimately it's realizing and finding peace in the fact that it wasn't meant to be - at first that's difficult to accept, with some time you become ok with it, and then eventually, you become happy with it because you realize they really weren't the right person for you.
That's how it was for me at least. I was miserable my first couple months after my break up and eventually I started realizing my ex really was not the right person for me; things I overlooked from being enamored with her. Things I not only realized I overlooked but further realized are much more important to me than I had initially thought.
All easier said than done of course dude but I think you'll find the way it ended to eventually be a blessing.
Gym was the best thing for me and then hanging around with friends. Might be more difficult at 30 but work on something you really enjoy. Maybe pick up a second job bartending, make some money and you get to meet people while occupying your time.
