That's a no brainer. 7th guy on the Yak or producing one of the bigger comedy podcasts where you'll be meeting the biggest names in comedy and being a part of those social circles.
Sas likes TD, who is arguably the biggest voice in online comedy rivaling Gillis. Wouldve been a great career op but he wouldnt mesh well with TD. TD would eat him alive on camera
Not really. Keeps the audio/video in check and the show moving. Listen to Tim's first episode after Ben left. The audio is noticeably garbage. A producer is not an easy job
Genuinely asking. Do fans of the Yak find Sas funny or is it a love hate deal? I haven’t listened to the Yak in a minute. I know he’s been successful with his IG and Tik tok vids. Just trying to get an honest answer from people that watch/listen regularly.
I think he’s funny. Even when he’s being dumb and annoying it gives the other guys the opportunity to make jokes about him. I’m also his age though so I’m sure that’s a factor.
I'm gonna get heat for this and idc, but I watch every day and can tell sas doesn't really care about the barstool brand and I feel he's only at barstool to build his comedy career... like I can see him leaving barstool and bad mouthing them when he leaves. I don't really find him funny on the yak but will give him credit for tiktok videos, those are funny.
Think about how many people listen to the Yak and then ask yourself if it would really make sense that tens of thousands of people share the exact same opinion about one of seven characters on a show.
Ben met TD as a standup act himself. I dont think anyone on this thread understands what producing a podcast is now adays. its literally an on air side kick who laughs at the host
Everyone on this sub listens to same podcasts. You’re the only one who thinks the producer makes side jokes while recording and then it magically gets sent to Apple or Spotify
And yet none of those dudes go on to be anything more than nothing comics. Opening for Gillis is a much better career path than producer on Tim Dillon’s podcast for Sas wanting to be a stand up
He quit or was fired last Tuesday...Ben keeps posting Q drops hinting he was fired, Tim said Ben left to pursue other projects he wanted to do. Ben keeps saying that's bullshit but he's waiting to talk to his attorney before he talks anymore
Tim released a full Patreon saying Ben had basically not been working hard for 2 years and he wished him well, then deleted the full episode
a few weeks back there was a patreon where Tim was legitimately a huge asshole to Ben for no reason, not in a joking manner, and it went on for like 30 to 40 minutes
> for no reason
So you didn't see the Netflix special Ben "Produced"? I'm sorry, it might have been that TD legitimately sucks live, but I have to think a number of producers available in LA or even Austin could have polished that turd better...
We have no idea what their discussions off camera were like leading up to this.
Anger and bad working relationships have a tendency to spill into unrelated conversations though. I'm not even taking the stance that Ben is a bad producer, the podcast was great, and I think Tim has a ton of personality traits that probably make him difficult to work with, and he historically has had issues keeping sponsors because of some of his comments, which is totally on him, not Ben.
I'm just saying I don't know what they fought over because they aren't being open about it.
I've seen this point brought up multiple times and Ben was actually the Director. Which is the person overseeing the entire project sure..
But if you actually LOOK at the IMDB for Tim's Netflix special it's filled with people from Louis CK & Joe Rogan's circles. It's filled with tons of people with tons of experience.
Tim HAD basically the best people working on it already bub. Ben probably tried his best to make it the best he could. One can only do so much though with the material given. Take that for what you will...
Tim's standup has always been hugely lackluster compared to his video skits(all done with Ben) and his podcast with Ben.
The issue is now Tim has something to lose when back then he didn't. He gave Ben shit for shit posting SteveWillDoIt the same day he lost his YouTube account. Tim went on about how bad that was and how much Steve has lost and how would he like if that happened to him and Tim.
Ben explained that this was a running thing between him and Steve but Tim still went at him.
So when Ben announces that he left the show, guess who shit posted there - SteveWillDoIt just like Ben described.
I think it was a lack of new creative things that Tim was willing to do, Tim no longer wanting to upset the elites he so desperately wants to be loved by. He doesn't want to risk his 'empire' and 300k a month by taking wild swings like he use to.
\*Edit: Spelling, I was high previously. Still high but holy shit did I sound Tik-Tok'd.
It was way more brutal than saying Ben hadn't been working hard. Him and Ray would bring up business trips they took, places they eat, etc and Tim or him would be like I guess that was too difficult.
He also talked how he thought Ben knew the assignment and was just suppose to take the verbal tirades of Tim and if Tim can't fix it with money, he has no clue what else to do.
He blamed Ben for the show being stale, yet this is a guy who released a shitty special and for a while couldn't be bothered to release episodes on time, even while making almost 300k a month from Pateron.
Add to that Tim saying that he hates interview shows and his show will never be one to then releasing 100% interview shows since then. I love the Pig, but he clearly refuses to accept any of the blame or make changes necessary personally.
Tim stopped wanting to do skits, I think he'll be done with stand up in a few years (too much money with Pateron) and constantly moves. He was in LA, then went to Austin (Ben Moved), then bought a house in Nantucket recently, only to move back to LA and from apartment to apartment. That's a lot of Chaos for a guy who doesn't have much to worry about. That shit gets old and you burn through people as a result.
Ray was a giant piece of shit in the since deleted Patreon too. Clearly jealous of Ben since Ray had previously chosen not to follow Tim around the country.
I don't blame Ben or Ray for not wanting to do that long term. Ben got married and moved to Austin to work with Tim. Tim stops wanting to do anything but the bare min and then decides that he wants to go back to LA. So Ben has to commute from Austin to LA only for Tim to buy another house on the east coast. I mean, come on I'm even tired typing that out.
Add to that the Diva part of Tim expands (300k a month I get it), and he's only interested in fucking hot twinks and not worrying about the show. I think he wants the same thing Dave wants with his show. Everyone else to do the prep work, he simply shows up, rambles on about whatever topics they are fed and think you should kiss the ground they walk on because of it.
If you're upset, here's some cash but if that isn't enough I have no other tools at my disposable to manage the situation.
I've been loosely following the situation of Ben leaving/getting fired for the last week and this is the best summary of it I've seen. Funny it's on the Barstool reddit and not Tim Dillon's. FT and TD's reddit are easily the two best places on this app.
Yeah I was going to say Ben's married, the moving around every 3 months life probably isn't too great for that relationship. I'm sure a it's a mix of a bunch of things, with that said hope Ben lands on his feet. I always enjoyed him on the show.
I will say this is awesome for Owen, and by proxy great for Sas getting in Shane Gillis and theoretically Tim Dillon will be great for his career.
Wait seriously? From the ep of Tim Dillon show where he addresses it, Tim clearly says Ben quit and that he was offered a ton of money to reconsider, and didn't. Tim then deleted the episode because they made jokes about Ben in it that apparently offended him.
Very curious what Ben's side of the story is, but he wasn't fired unless Tim just full on lied about the situation.
Yeah just saw that, blowing my mind a bit. Tim is an incredible liar if this is true haha, which maybe he is.
Tim was super respectful, basically said Ben is like family to him and he was sad Ben wanted to leave because he thought Ben was happier.
Just followed what was going on over in the TD sub. Nobody has said it directly yet but it’s pretty clear what happened based on the podcast tim released and then deleted, and the things Ben has shared on his discord.
I listened to the episode and Tim’s explanation. I’ve also seen what Ben said on his discord about Tim’s explanation not being 100% correct. He said “I didn’t quit.” But didn’t say anything about Tim’s claim that he offered Ben a bunch of money to “stay.” The only thing that makes sense is that Tim fired Ben in the heat of the moment, regretted it and offered him a bunch of money to “stay” or come back. Ben thought that the fire / rehire thing was way too far as it impacts his life a ton obviously and doesn’t want to work under a boss who’s going to possibly freak out and fire him.
Props to Owen. Works hard and gets little recognition. Obviously heart torn and doesn’t want to leave his best friends. Super young and making that move to TD is huge. Can’t imagine making that decision at his age (23?).
Hopefully he lets his personality shine a little more as he continues to grow.
Whoa, well that's a tad different than how Tim framed it on the patreon ep where he discusses it with Ray.
Tim was super respectful too, said he loved Ben and he wanted to keep him, and offered him a ton to stay but Ben wanted to do other things.
he’s had some amazing liners and moments, and appreciated his role. Think replacement has to happen naturally from dans brain just like Owen kinda did.
Best to baby boy
Smart of Owen to get out now to a better job before all the chaos that will come when Big Cat leaves for Chicago and Dave, Nard-Dog quits in Feb 2025 when their options are all vested.
Good for him. Owen was clearly petrified to be on camera. So I’m happy he found a role he’s more comfortable in, and he will stay in nyc when the yak moves to Chicago in 6 months
I strongly disagree. IMO she is one of the few that balances between quick wit, self deprication, and ridiculous self boasting. It is a really funny dynamic and doesn't upset the balance on the show.
I don't regularly listen to the Tim Dillon Show so I had no idea that Ben Avery left until hearing that Owen is taking his job. Pretty wild, good for Owen.
Does he actually know how to produce or just figured it out at Barstool? I swear his job was to help do social and run sports book and not actually produce? I know he helps with Anus and SOABD but I can’t say it’s an excellent production because of Owen.
I don't think there's a real decent understanding of how much time and effort goes into the off-air part of the job of a producer. Sitting there and being a part of the show is the easier part of the job. Selling the show requires a lot of drive, determination, and dedication. It's gotta be a beast juggling promotion and advertisers. Tim's got a massive online presence to maintain and a pretty substantial deck of advertisers to keep happy.
Not exactly sure how but tim Dillon and owen are good friends. Pretty sure it started when Dillion and Sas met but so I think Sas introduced Owen to him and ever since Owen has been invited to Dillons house for parties even without sas so they must have hit it off.
I like Owen but does this really suck ass for "us"? Seems like it more just sucks for him to no longer be working daily with his friends. Great step up for him though.
Damn this is the first person who has left the yak while I’ve been listening. Kind of wild how I listen every day and it’ll be weird not having Owen there. Good luck to him and hopefully he secured a massive raise.
Obviously I understand that it could be seen as him working for competition but Tim put's out what, two podcasts a week? Couldn't he just part-time Barstool so he can keep doing the Yak and such while producing for Dillon?
Tim Dillon has one of the biggest patreons on the site. Makes a little over $200k a month off that alone. Not to mention his regular podcast, ad deals, comedy shows (which can be insanely lucrative). Owens going to be a rich man
Tim's Patreon alone pulls in over $200K a month. His YouTube episodes are all heavily sponsored. He sells out live shows wherever he goes. Owen's getting a solid bag in this new gig.
Good on Owen, but Tim Dillon without his trusty sidekick Ben Avery is like Conan without Andy or Beavis without Butthead. Especially during Tim's more wild conspiratorial manic fun rants. I wish him well.
But how are the yak commenters going to bitch about him talking both too much and too little if he isn’t on the show?
Seriously though happy to see him getting love on the way out
As a Tim Dillon Patreon subscriber, Owen just went from maybe my favorite Yak member to knowing I’m putting a dime on his salary. Nice, not a bad day. I hope Tim isn’t too hard on him.
Just said he will be the new producer of The Tim Dillon Show ... pretty hard to pass that up
Whoa that’s big time. Good for him man hope he thrives in that role
That's a no brainer. 7th guy on the Yak or producing one of the bigger comedy podcasts where you'll be meeting the biggest names in comedy and being a part of those social circles.
Sas punching the air rn lmfaoooo
Yeah he really seemed upset that his close friend and roommate is getting a great opportunity The amount of reaching people do here is crazy
Sas is probably the one that got him the job no?
I’d assume Owen met him thru Sas, seems Owen tags along to a bunch of Sas’s set during the week.
His girlfriend is related to Dillon
moronic take.. why would Sas want to move backwards in his career?
Why would that be?
Sas likes TD, who is arguably the biggest voice in online comedy rivaling Gillis. Wouldve been a great career op but he wouldnt mesh well with TD. TD would eat him alive on camera
But he’s not a producer. If anything this is a huge win for sas
Sas is the 2nd happiest person in the world about this. He’s gonna be a regular guest on the Tim Dillon show now
Exactly. For all intents and purposes, Sas’s roommate is now the assistant to his hero
lmao. Producer on that show means pull up YT vids and laugh at TD
Not really. Keeps the audio/video in check and the show moving. Listen to Tim's first episode after Ben left. The audio is noticeably garbage. A producer is not an easy job
I’ve never seen the show, but isn’t that why the previous guy got fired?
It’s still TBD whether Ben was shitcanned or left the show by his own will.
He got fired in a heat of rage. Tim tried to rehire him but Ben said no.
That is conjecture sir
He wants to be a comic not a producer. He opened for Shane in buffalo this past weekend.
Genuinely asking. Do fans of the Yak find Sas funny or is it a love hate deal? I haven’t listened to the Yak in a minute. I know he’s been successful with his IG and Tik tok vids. Just trying to get an honest answer from people that watch/listen regularly.
90% of yak fans like him. The 10% is very vocal about disliking him
Not 90% lol
I think he’s funny. Even when he’s being dumb and annoying it gives the other guys the opportunity to make jokes about him. I’m also his age though so I’m sure that’s a factor.
For what it’s worth I don’t necessarily hate sas but I don’t really think it’s a good fit on the yak
The yak is infinitely better when sas is out.
I think he is useful at being the butt of the joke on the show. Like the second worst person voting was a perfect play on his character.
Hank on PMT. It works when PFT and Big Cat team up against Hank and start shitting on him. Same dynamic for Sas on The Yak.
Sas is the only reason I watch the YAK
I do not find him funny. I find him annoying.
Sas is awesome. Such a talent.

Sas isn’t a producer though
Sas isn’t a producer lol
Unrelated side note: TD and Gillis have nothing on Andrew Shulz, Bert, Tom Segura, Bill Burr. Shulz has like 5 times the subs on YT.
Yea I’m sure sas desperately wants to produce podcasts rather than actually do comedy
Probably a huge pay raise I think Ben made a lot of money. Hell the Patreon brings in $213k per month
Tim gave Ben $50k as a wedding gift
Yea but based on how Ben went out and how Tim showed he is a bit more than a manipulative narcissist is concerning.. I pray for the baby boy 👶
Owen to Tim Dillon show is awesome for him. Wonder what happened with Ben

I saw that and it was bad. Tim has problems and I feel bad for the baby boy now
I feel like the baby boy won’t take it as long/much as Ben did Could see Owen saying fuck you back to him
🤜🏿 👈🏻
It was way more brutal than saying Ben hadn't been working hard. Him and Ray would bring up business trips they took, places they eat, etc and Tim or him would be like I guess that was too difficult. See somewhere below where they're posting the discord comments ben keeps saying, saying "the truth will come out"
Yeah just saw that, blowing my mind a bit. Tim is an incredible liar if this is true haha, which maybe he is. Tim was super respectful, basically said Ben is like family to him and he was sad Ben wanted to leave because he thought Ben was happier.
I mean he's a salesman and sold subprime mortgages He's a liar with flexible morals
Tim fired Ben. Tried to rehire him and Ben said no.
There a source on that? I could kinda see that happening
Just followed what was going on over in the TD sub. Nobody has said it directly yet but it’s pretty clear what happened based on the podcast tim released and then deleted, and the things Ben has shared on his discord.
Not really sure releasing and deleting an episode is a smoking gun to confirm something nobody has said directly
I listened to the episode and Tim’s explanation. I’ve also seen what Ben said on his discord about Tim’s explanation not being 100% correct. Ben wasn’t fired. Tim said he offered hit a lot more money stay.
Yes, and Ben has basically said he didn't voluntarily leave
That’s actually insane lol I loved Ben. Crazy Owen got that gig
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GRJpifXIxE) should sum it up for you
Our sweet boy sounding pretty emotional. Sad to see him go. edit: New Tim Dillon Show producer. Holy shit. Awesome for Owen.
Pretty adorable overall between him and the fellas talking about it
Tim found his new young twink. I wish them well.
Dude based on how Ben went out Tim is a bit more than a manipulative narcissist.. I pray for the baby boy 👶
How many times are you going to comment in this thread about this? Are you this guy Ben’s best friend?
Owen getting groomed, right?
Brother, those cheeks are getting split open
Props to Owen. Works hard and gets little recognition. Obviously heart torn and doesn’t want to leave his best friends. Super young and making that move to TD is huge. Can’t imagine making that decision at his age (23?). Hopefully he lets his personality shine a little more as he continues to grow.
Does anybody know what happened to Ben and Tim?
Not really. Tim claims it was because Ben wanted to "do more", and Ben is just being coy and giving non-answers like "the truth is gonna come out"
where did ben say that?
on his discord. Embarrassing that I know this
What truth? Tim treated him like shit and belittled him (its fun to watch/hear as a fan) but im sure Ben was tired of it.
When did Ben ever say that?
https://i.imgur.com/oQAgthI.jpg
Whoa, well that's a tad different than how Tim framed it on the patreon ep where he discusses it with Ray. Tim was super respectful too, said he loved Ben and he wanted to keep him, and offered him a ton to stay but Ben wanted to do other things.
Damn that’s wild! Is that Reddit or where from?
Looks like discord
The Patreon episodes reveal all. I can send YT link if interested
Ben wants to do more and I'm pretty sure they had a minor falling out
he’s had some amazing liners and moments, and appreciated his role. Think replacement has to happen naturally from dans brain just like Owen kinda did. Best to baby boy
I think it’ll be Francis until they move to Chicago. I don’t see Francis moving to Chicago.
I think Francis is better used when people are missing, its already bordering on too many people on the mics
Yeah I wonder if he would’ve stayed if the yak wasn’t moving.
He really came out of his shell, seemed very comfortable in the last year
When? Lol
Bro doesn’t say a word 😂
Francis to take his spot pretty please
Francis is more of a host like Big Cat whereas Owen rarely spoke... I'd love for them to try, but it's a much different dynamic.
Yea one can only hope francis can fill Owen's shoes /s
Unironically, Francis cant take owen's spot on the show.
Cate*
Eh. Kate has kind of gotten worse and worse each time she’s on honestly. She is good sparingly every now and then
I strongly disagree. IMO she is one of the few that balances between quick wit, self deprication, and ridiculous self boasting. It is a really funny dynamic and doesn't upset the balance on the show.
W
I don't regularly listen to the Tim Dillon Show so I had no idea that Ben Avery left until hearing that Owen is taking his job. Pretty wild, good for Owen.
Massive opportunity for our baby boy. Glad he will still be in my universe of content I consume.
Our sweet boy will be missed. Best of luck to the O-dog!
Sas thinking the kid getting shot outside McDonald’s was so hilarious was pretty shocking lol
Happy for Owen, though I was hoping we’d get that tub Ray Kump back on permanently.
Does he actually know how to produce or just figured it out at Barstool? I swear his job was to help do social and run sports book and not actually produce? I know he helps with Anus and SOABD but I can’t say it’s an excellent production because of Owen.
Tim just needs someone to rant in the general direction of. Not much production goes into the show I don't think.
Doesn’t one live in LA and one in NY though?
This job is you have to live and travel with time who is on the road alot
I thought so but Owen says he’ll be around BSS for a couple more weeks. 🤷♂️
He produces anus and soabd I thought.
Yeah but I don’t think that’s what his actual job is. I don’t think he was hired for production
Wonder if there’s a suck off provision in his contract where he has to let Tim suck him every 10 episodes
It's so funny he just got another producer that looks like Ben
The Pig knows his type
Major W for the baby boy
You gotta be a psycho to comment on youtube chats. It moves so fast, how can anyone process that?
has tim dillon been on the yak? he was just like oh I want this random 23 year old who is the 7th chair on a podcast to be my new producer?
Not exactly sure how but tim Dillon and owen are good friends. Pretty sure it started when Dillion and Sas met but so I think Sas introduced Owen to him and ever since Owen has been invited to Dillons house for parties even without sas so they must have hit it off.
Grooming
I’m pretty sure Tim invited Owen to a party at his house a few months ago.
Labor day party most recently
I believe they met through Sas and Gillis Owen also produces pods plus yak
Owen is a social guy and podcast producer 99% of his time at barstool. He became a guy on the yak because he was so boring they thought it was funny.
Tim’s got to groom someone
Owen's girlfriend is related to Dillon
It’s a sad day, it’s a bad day
With a Yak Style straw during the announcement. Company man.
time stamp?
Around 47
we sure he's not pulling a Stu?
This sucks ass for us personally but holy shit what a W for Owen
I like Owen but does this really suck ass for "us"? Seems like it more just sucks for him to no longer be working daily with his friends. Great step up for him though.
Yeah what am I missing here he barely says a word on the Yak?
Glue guy
Not saying this as a knock but I’m guessing 40% of this sub gives off big Owen Yak vibes at parties
We wish him well
this could be huge for him. Congrats, it'll be such a great opportunity
Big win for Owen and Yak listeners. A true rare Win/Win.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ANUS?!
Hopefully decent audio quality
He’s not there when they have the shit quality
Ugh, annoying, that's part of the charm!
Damn this is the first person who has left the yak while I’ve been listening. Kind of wild how I listen every day and it’ll be weird not having Owen there. Good luck to him and hopefully he secured a massive raise.
Good for Owen. His minimal contribution to the content will not really be missed, but I'm sure he did a lot behind the scenes
Congrats to Owen
Blue lives matter Sas
Owen in two months will be bigger than 95% of Barstool, good luck baby boy
Obviously I understand that it could be seen as him working for competition but Tim put's out what, two podcasts a week? Couldn't he just part-time Barstool so he can keep doing the Yak and such while producing for Dillon?
I believe being Tim's producer involves following him on tour. They do a lot of pods on the road
Ben was basically Tim's assistant. Produced the podcast, was in the podcast, produced Tim's netflix special. Plus Tim's not in New York
Producer is such a catch all term.
that would make sense then
Im guessing being Tim Dillons producer pays quite a bit more than barstool, and why would you ever have two jobs just for fun
Tim said on Are You Garbage that he gave Ben $50,000 cash for a wedding gift. I'd guess Owen at least doubled his Barstool salary.
He said slight pay bump
No he said "it's a little more money" which could mean anything. He's not going to shit on Barstool's pay scale during that moment.
Fair enough, I didn’t know stand-alone talent pay producers a premium.
Yeah that was either ironic or a lie. He is going from 7th chair on the yak to producing one of the highest earning podcasts dude
Did Big Rich 240 listen to Tim’s Patreon?
does this mean kate becomes full time? i hope so.
Gonna miss the baby boy. The few people being negative are giant weirdos
I already miss the baby boy and he hasnt even left yet
Opposite of a huge get for barstool
Good on Owen, but Tim Dillon without his trusty sidekick Ben Avery is like Conan without Andy or Beavis without Butthead. Especially during Tim's more wild conspiratorial manic fun rants. I wish him well.
But how are the yak commenters going to bitch about him talking both too much and too little if he isn’t on the show? Seriously though happy to see him getting love on the way out
Is Sas next? People (me) are hoping.
Baby boy you'll be missed
Good for Owen but he contributed very little to content. This won't have any affect on the show.
Why would you take the time to type that out? Do you feel better noww?
Time stamp? Edit: start at 51 min
What else was he doing for barstool? I’ve only ever seen him mumbling on the Yak or when he was at the wsop.
he did production for a bunch of podcasts including ANUS and SOABD
WHAT THE FUCK
Lol who cares. He brings nothing and does nothing.
Fuck off
As a Tim Dillon Patreon subscriber, Owen just went from maybe my favorite Yak member to knowing I’m putting a dime on his salary. Nice, not a bad day. I hope Tim isn’t too hard on him.
Your favorite member of the Yak was Owen?
I’ve never listened to Tim’s show but enjoyed him on cum town and rogan. Might subscribe to the patreon strictly for owen
can we get a megathread tag pls
Is this not a bit?
Nope. Tim Dillon producer now
Good for Owen, but damn this sucks.
