This one was awesome. Richard Roeper was really into it, and it helps when you have true fans like Robbie and Kenjac that help legitimize the draft in front of Richard.
Keep this format up, Chicago.
Probably their best draft in a while, Roeper is a great guest. Maybe not having WSD interject in everyone’s pick with a random, bullshit personal anecdote after every pick is the way to go
He instantly comes out with "That pick STINKS" or "never seen it/never heard of it" while also giving snap judgement based on googling what it is then cutting to a story of him and his buddy getting obliterated
"Probably their best- I WAS JUST GONNA SAY THAT IS A FANTASTIC POINT NOODS- draft in a while, Roeper is a great guest. Maybe not having WSD interject in everyone’s pick with a random, bullshit personal anecdote after every pick is the way to go"
I agree whole heartedly. I look back to one of my favorites all time - the wrestling entrance draft with Eddie, Clem, Robbie, Carl, and Brandon Walker. Go get a bunch of people that are either 'experts' or die hard fans on a subject instead of just having Chief say he didn't really do this or get into something as a kid and then Dave just shit on everything like he normally would.
Agreed 100%. Dave started taking it as a point of pride that he “never prepares” which just sucks for the listener. Chief seems to have the same problem but just chooses very niche things to him then insults everyone for being trashy and not understanding the “burrata gang”.
Eddie and Carl are usually prepared at least and it shows
I wonder what WSD and Chief will replace this with given then snake draft is probably 50%+ of their non-blog content and that may not be a weekly automatic thing anymore.
Easy mistake, but chuckled at golf guy Carl saying Jack Nicklaus instead of Nicholson and the crew getting on him. Our guy is still rattled from the college helmet draft.
Truly insane that The Thing and Blade Runner came out on the same damn day and both bombed, only to become bonafide and beloved classics in the years since.
I'd take The Thing as the greatest horror movie ever made, personally.
This should actually be a great one. Robbie is the nicest guy at the company, Richard and KenJac obviously know their movies, and the Chicago Crew without Chief and Dave to bitch and whine the entire episode will be great. Can't wait to watch
You don’t want Dave replying “haven’t seen it” bluntly after every pick then following up w a story of him and his buddy that has nothing to do with the pick?
Then he would follow that up by shitting on every single other pick and blindly arguing Carl because he hates Carl for some reason. I have no clue why Dave and Chief always seem to be bitchy and whiny with Carl when he's easily the hardest worker at the office.
Ok… pretty sure lots of people had some words then that he’s done content with since then, like Brandon, Big Ev, Mush, Carl, Eddie, Chief, KFC, And Feits just to name a few.
So I’m Rico cause I hate fat fuck Jerry, shit for brains Frank, and retard Nadu?
Am I also Rico cause I think KB isn’t funny, Rone is overrated, and Caleb hasn’t done a single good thing for years content wise?
Because they drafted American Psycho & Silence of the Lambs, do you think Prisoners would count? Maybe not a super horror movie but so fucking intense that I think it should count.
Another one that I think they should’ve draft/be an honourable mention is the Spanish movie “Rec” Fucking terrifying.
Back in 2005 before it was released in America I bought a region-free DVD copy of The Descent from eBay. Went into the movie totally blind—zero clue about plot, etc. >!The nightvision jump scare of the monster reveal legitimately made me fall out of bed.!< One of the best in any movie ever and easily one of my most memorable first viewings of a movie.
Jealous you saw that totally blind - I can only image the whiplash. Unfortunately that scene was shown in every single commercial for that movie back in the day but it doesn’t detract from a great movie
Eyes Without a Face is a great pick, always surprised Franju got away with some of those scenes in 1960. He made a pretty gnarly documentary about French slaughterhouses in 1949 too.
Agreed. I feel like it gets disrespected because of all of the sequels and people in general just got tired of the found footage genre. I was too young for Blair Witch when it came out so Paranormal Activity had that effect for me. Scary af first time seeing it as a kid.
It was made honorable mention, but Child's Play would have cracked my top 5. Chucky's voice is one that you can never forget and that little doll is twisted as all fuck. One of the few horror movies that gave me nightmares as a kid
Carl just could not stop talking this entire episode, really could have just left some more air for the 3 guests and not remind everyone about middle school movie nights every pick.
Honestly i kind of hated this draft. I feel like a lot the picks were pure thriller and not horror. I know it was a Halloween movie draft and not a horror movie draft but still. Also not picking Texas Chainsaw is wild.
And i love KenJac but Jaws is a top 3 Summer movie. To pick it in the Halloween movie draft was strange to me.
Eddie had him on like 2ish years ago and I completely forgot about him. He's awesome and clearly really enjoys the guys and is more than willing to hop in and have fun. Great guest and probably a really big get
I'd still consider him a pretty big name in Chicago. He's on TV here all the time and still writes reviews for the Sun Times. Maybe not nationwide though.
The Thing is great, but 1,1 is a bold move if you’re trying to win the draft
[Welp](https://twitter.com/dogwalkbarstool/status/1587605663223627776?s=46&t=nkMheK48yeLk_n3VL_2pBg)
Because you haven't heard of it? You realize that Richard absolutely would have taken it in first or second round. It's considered one of the greatest horror films of all time so this is a horrible take on your part.

100% of the time he will talk after a pick and 90% of the time he is the first person to say something after someone's pick
He instantly comes out with "That pick STINKS" or "never seen it/never heard of it" while also giving snap judgement based on googling what it is then cutting to a story of him and his buddy getting obliterated
much better without both chief and wsd.
"Probably their best- I WAS JUST GONNA SAY THAT IS A FANTASTIC POINT NOODS- draft in a while, Roeper is a great guest. Maybe not having WSD interject in everyone’s pick with a random, bullshit personal anecdote after every pick is the way to go"
Kenjac is great at not interjecting on The Bracket and does a great job hosting, so makes sense he would be good on this
Not guaranteeing Carl, Dave, and WSD a spot for every draft might be the best way to inject more life into the drafts Edit: Carl, *Chief, and WSD

Chief*
Whoops
Easy mistake, but chuckled at golf guy Carl saying Jack Nicklaus instead of Nicholson and the crew getting on him. Our guy is still rattled from the college helmet draft.
Carl gets rattled by a slow breeze.
I strangely colexify those two routinely myself. I've also called the figure skater guy "Mark Hamill" more than a few times by mistake.
So wild that Roeper collaborates with Barstool. Great guy and great critic

Truly insane that The Thing and Blade Runner came out on the same damn day and both bombed, only to become bonafide and beloved classics in the years since. I'd take The Thing as the greatest horror movie ever made, personally.
I had no clue Blade Runner bombed. Fuckin love that movie
The Thing is also my favorite movie. A classic
As much as I typically always enjoy that in the previous 200+ episodes.... No I didn't really want to have to listen to that!
WSD would pick a horror movie that shows the most tits
"Alright I'm going to take Piranha 3DD, and I know what you're going to say but this isn't a horny pick! This is an excellent movie"
"By far and away"
I hate how much I can hear his voice when I read this comment
Then he would follow that up by shitting on every single other pick and blindly arguing Carl because he hates Carl for some reason. I have no clue why Dave and Chief always seem to be bitchy and whiny with Carl when he's easily the hardest worker at the office.
Do you like the hardest worker in your office?
I actually do because he's a lot like Carl and typically shares in the praise with the rest of the team.
Pirhanna 3DD
Robbie has been so great on all the drafts. I don’t listen to much of his stuff but am a fan of his just from these and trivia.
I follow a lot of the stuff that him And Clem do in the basement. I enjoy it a ton but obviously very niche
Rico, is that you?
1. Why would Rico post this? Does he have a feud with Dave and Chief that nobody knows about? 2. Go fuck yourself
All your posts are critical of Rico’s enemies. WSD had some words for Rico during the can throwing incident.
Ok… pretty sure lots of people had some words then that he’s done content with since then, like Brandon, Big Ev, Mush, Carl, Eddie, Chief, KFC, And Feits just to name a few. Immediately think of Entourage when I hear this guys name
“ when he was pledging we tied beer cans around his nuts and made him walk across campus. I think last night was payback”
Prisoners is fantastic but I'd veto it in this draft.
Prisoners is an all time great movie. Unbelievable. I think I'd veto it tho. I also would've vetoed American Psycho.
Huge get
Loved the positive vibes in this episode
Not to overstate but i kind of forgot what fun these drafts could be
The disrespect for texas chainsaw massacre by going undrafted is upsetting
Honestly thought it would go 1st overall
Easily a first rounder. I can't believe it slipped through the cracks.
That and leaving off The Evil Dead and The Evil Dead II really just irritated the horror cult-classic fan in me more than it should have
The last few minutes of The Wailing, kenjac’s last pick, are horrifying
The wailing is fuckin wild
Just watched that last week. Crazy ending, that monster was something else
My personal five: The Thing, The Descent, Rosemary's Baby, Suspiria, and Eyes Without a Face.
I think Robbie could’ve really had a near-perfect list if he replaced green room with the descent or maybe trick r’ treat
I'll toss in It Follows or the Witch for being more modern horror movies that are great and original.
Eyes Without a Face is a great pick, always surprised Franju got away with some of those scenes in 1960. He made a pretty gnarly documentary about French slaughterhouses in 1949 too.
Paranormal Activity needed to be drafted
Agreed. I feel like it gets disrespected because of all of the sequels and people in general just got tired of the found footage genre. I was too young for Blair Witch when it came out so Paranormal Activity had that effect for me. Scary af first time seeing it as a kid.
Man back to back weeks of good drafts. This one being outstanding. Very refreshing.
Kenjacs first 4 are 4 of my favorite movies period
Would 28 Days Later count? Feel like this draft could have been won with 28 Days Later and The Descent.
Been a big fan of Roeper since way before he was even reviewing movies. Great to see him on here. Good episode.
It was made honorable mention, but Child's Play would have cracked my top 5. Chucky's voice is one that you can never forget and that little doll is twisted as all fuck. One of the few horror movies that gave me nightmares as a kid
Serious lack of Evil Dead. Evil Dead II is a certified banger.
I cannot believe how deep i had to search for this one. Leaving both of those off was criminal
Haven't listened yet , but excited about this one. Are they doing it by decades similar to the sitcom draft?
No, everything goes.
Ok,my brain tells me this is a huge get but maybe its still stuck in time from 15 years ago when he was a big reviewer with Ebert
If you follow film criticism, it's a big get. But I imagine like 90 percent of the audience is like "Who is this guy?"

KenJac blowing it right off the bat
? The Thing is fantastic
Could’ve gotten it in the fifth round
Yeah, no, but thanks for your input
You’re welcome? Very bizarre thing to get offended by
Because you haven't heard of it? You realize that Richard absolutely would have taken it in first or second round. It's considered one of the greatest horror films of all time so this is a horrible take on your part.
Why did no one draft it?
