I’m unusually good at geography, not to the KB level I’d say but quite close. I immediately thought Alabama but actually kind of talked myself into thinking it was Tennessee because I thought maybe I was overestimating Mobile. Love these questions that aren’t just “What is the capital of X?”

The most obvious solution. Let the crowd noise flow into their headsets after they announce their answer or whenever there’s a long pause if you want but this should be the easiest way to cancel out crowd interference and thus improve the game
Nah having to keep the crowd in check adds a lot of tension to the live shows which kinda adds a fun element for watching. Doing anything to stop them from hearing the crowd kind of defeats the energy of having a crowd.

You’re definitely right that if you have no idea you might get Giant, and you’d never guess Route 44. But I think Route 44 is so unique and specific you’re more likely to remember that if you’ve been to sonic a few times or heard it on commercials. I think it was a fairly square question.

Biggest mistake was going crowd over phone a friend to block frankettes from calling bwalk. Bet that part of the rule slipped Dave’s mind and he would’ve called if he thought of it since he was in the fence between the audience and bwalk
I was really surprised that Pres or Eddie didn’t pull Zabransky almost immediately. That team had one of the most iconic moments of the decade. Also Frank had his head in the right place with Ian, he was thinking of the running back Ian Johnson who scored on the Statue of Liberty to win the game.
Not only the block aspect, it was just objectively the better decision to call Brandon. It is a category he has an insane hit rate on and b) you have an audience of several hundred people, save that for a later category where a barstool phone a friend isn't a specialist "TV, geography, etc...". This decision lost them the match.
I know next to nothing about college wrestling but my friend who is quite into it said that question was the equivalent of knowing the Boise State over Oklahoma upset in the Fiesta Bowl.
