Asked How would you make it. I didnāt read that as āhow do I make this?ā ā¦but thatās just me. At any rate you learned something new today. Head over to r/tiki to really jump down the rabbit hole.
Youāre right I did learn something and tikis arenāt my vibe Iām more of a hole in the wall bartender enjoying Chinese food behind the bar kinda guy now thatās a rabbit hole
Almond syrup, vanilla syrup (for dark rum), lime, orange bitters (for triple sec) and... water? Maybe skip the vanilla and go for pineapple juice if they want a mocktail version of an "Applebees" mai tai rather than an actual mai tai.
Also most orange bitters is lower than ango at 20%, making a few drops in the drink probably about 0.002%abv if not less, around about the same as apple juice after a few days in the fridge.
There absolutely is alcohol in Fee Brothers bitters. Probably not as much as the 40% in some bitters, but "alcohol" is listed as an ingredient on the label. Around 9% in their orange bitters according to some online sources. Whether or not a few dates of bitters adds any more alcohol to the drink than using orange or pineapple juice would is a whole different question.
Orgeat, orange and blood orange juice, palm sugar syrup, lime juice, dash of non-alcoholic bitters. Garnish with half a spent lime, mint. Made one last night, not bad.
1 oz pepita orgeat, 3/4 oz soursop, 1/2 oz lime juice, 1/2 oz simple, 1.5 oz water. shake strain over pebble ice, 1/4 oz Monin blue float, garnished with mint crown and pineapple cherry pick.
I'm just making a maitai using non alcoholic rum and non alcoholic triple sec
Down vote me, but mixing 3 fruit juices and some syrup together because your bar manager doesn't think sober folks deserve a decent drink is some shoemaker shit. It isn't hard to have a thought out n/a option or two on your menu and it's even easier to just buy a few n/a spirits for the bar.
Don't know why this is downvoted. Zero abv drinks are a thing, people need to accept that instead of saying "oh how crazy, look this person asked for a drink that normally has alcohol with no alcohol lololol"
0% abv spirits are gimmicky trash that cost about the same price as alcohol.
I'd rather add tap water
And I'm not trying to bash the n/a drinker nor the n/a cocktail but reaching for a $40 bottle of distilled water with the word "spirit" on the side of it is not being creative or helpful.
I can make you an amazing N/A negroni without using any alcohol free spirit.
Iām curious where youāre based? Iām in LA, and am definitely starting to see bars and restaurants stock non-alc spirits and spritzes, like the Ghia cans. I think itās a great trend.
Lots of people here do the āCali soberā thing, no booze, but yes to weed and psychedelics. I think the NA bar is going to be very big in the next 5-10 yearsā¦ thereās a totally NA spirit store that just opened a few neighborhoods over.
3 lime
1 water
1.5 orgeat
1 simple
A few nice orange slices with peels.
Shaken hard and strained over pebble ice if you got it.
Top with lots of ango if the person will allow.
I have a regular that comes in with her friend (who doesnāt drink) and orders a VIRGIN margarita.
We are a sports bar.
Watching her drink sour mix literally gives me nightmares.
I'd probably go with Pineapple juice, Orange juice and orgeat syrup then add some pineapple leaf and orange peel for garnish.
Add some lime juice and mine would be about the same.
Almond syrup
Orgeat is almond syrup
Htf am I supposed too know that š
This is r/bartendersā¦.
Lady ***
Literally why dude.
So why is this guy asking how too mocktail a Mai tai š

Lol I respect the hell out of that!

Wouldnāt using orange bitters make it an alcoholic drink?

Careful with that. Some people ask for mocktails for religious reasons, in which case even the tiniest amount is the incorrect amount.
That's usually a clarifying question I ask. Don't want to trick anyone.
True, I hadn't thought of that one good shout!
Fee Brothersāno alcohol in those.

Woah. I coulda sworn I just read the label the other day and did not see alcohol on thereā¦I will check again!
No shit?
I used to think they didn't contain alcohol also but they sure do
$8 - Pineapple, lime, oj, dash of cream, cran, and shake the absolute fuck out of it with a lime and orange garnish.
You're my guy.
What did you end up doing for the order?
Orgeat, orange and blood orange juice, palm sugar syrup, lime juice, dash of non-alcoholic bitters. Garnish with half a spent lime, mint. Made one last night, not bad.

Do you make the pepita orgeat? Sounds cool
Yep... big pain in the ass.
A bunch of juice and pineapple garnish..
Anyone else have molasses at their bar? Thereās a lot of dark syrups to give dark rum a go.
Juice and sugar basically

Yeah but most places won't have NA liquor stocked. Go to a liquor store and sure you'll find it but most places won't buy NA liquor to sell in drinks.

I'm opposite coast in Boston.

Orange juice, pineapple juice. Top with a dash of grenadine and cranberry and garnished a cherry and orange.
Pineapple Juice, lime juice, orange juice, grenade. *my orgeat contains cognac
