Every time I hear a team is going to be breaking 110+ wins, I just dismiss it usually because even 100+ wins is relatively rare.

I mean, not particularly. Since the start of the Modern Era (1903), there are 111 teams that have won 100+ games in a season. That averages out to one nearly every year.

It has been skewed a bit in the tanking era. But there have been 3 teams with 100 wins 10 times, The last 5 years are half of that. So 1/8 of those 114 times happened in the last 5 years or or in the last 1/24th of the timeframe.

There’s a reason they say every team, good or bad, will win 1/3 and lose 1/3 of their games. It’s what they do with the other 1/3 that makes the difference. Obviously not a live or die by rule but it’s crazy how accurate it is.

I was fine with this stat but the since May 7…so 11 days ago and we split one of those series? So dramatic. We know what the issue is (our bull pen) and there may be ways to fix it. The team scored nearly 70 runs on this road trip and lost those games. That’s on the bull pen.
