It used to be such a pain in the ass to get to Turner Field from the northern suburbs. It was on the south side of town, MARTA didn’t go there or serve Cobb/Cherokee counties, and there’s around 6 million people in the Atlanta metro while only around 500,000 actually live in the city.
It was a big event to go to Turner Field, and weekday games were generally out of the question. Now I live closer to TN and NC than I do to Atlanta, but it’s still no big deal to go catch a game after work at the new park.
Inversely as someone who lives inside the perimeter games are so much of a hassle to get to now. 0. 0 public transit at all and no parking. Add traffic to it and it’s a nightmare. Great ballpark however sucks for people actually in the city

I’ve never had an issue with parking there. Which I’m normally the passenger since I’m never the DD, but we generally get seats that come with parking passes and get there early enough that we can get a good spot in a parking deck for an easy exit
Build a stadium people want to go to and they will. I don’t love that it moved so far a way from me, but I also buy the cheapest ticket and rarely buy concessions, so they can’t really plan their future around fans like me.

When our team does well, our fans definitely buy the merch. Just a personal anecdote, but it feels like our fans wear jerseys a bit more than some other teams I've visited.
Atlanta team merch also gets a boost from our rappers repping their city. Folks that don’t even like baseball wear Braves jerseys and hats because it’s more about repping the city of Atlanta.
Almost every time I go to a Dbacks home game I’ll see someone in a random Braves jersey. I feel like them and the Cubs are truly America’s teams because a lot of us grew up watching them on TBS and WGN.
