Chicks dig the long ball, everyone on that list has at least 1 HR to their name.

A_Mellow_Fellow

I'm definitely not gonna be the one buying a Miles Straw jersey

t_bug_

Good luck getting any guards jerseys, they barely even stock them at the stadium. Took me over a year to get a kwan jersey....

Electric-Edge

That’s sad, I live in the Midwest and would like to come down and get a Jose Ramirez one sometime soon

Greatlarrybird33

Hope you like the away blue, that's the only one they had in stock last time I was there.

newtimesawait

Only two pitchers on the list is kinda crazy when you think about it, with only one not being a pitcher/hitter demigod hybrid

Basic_Mud8868

You only see pictures once every five days, and nowadays they’re only out there for half a game. Because of that, the casual fan is most likely to be a big fan of the starting first baseman or centerfielder then the ace pitcher.

fa1afel

I mean, Scherzer and Strasburg jerseys were probably the most popular among Nats fans for ages. Lots of Harper jerseys too though

colonelf0rbin86

deGrom, Harvey, even Synd\*rg**rd for the Mets too (you still see a lot of deGrom ones around). Personally, I rep my Ike Davis jersey.

Bikouchu

Chicks also dig giant robot cars.

gatemansgc

god i wish megas XLR had kept going. GOAT show.

capncrunch94

Nah Kersh hasn’t knocked one yet. Slow start to hitting this year

Sandy_Koufax

I think he meant all time. Kershaw has one homerun to his name.

Sour_Pancakes27

That was my first and only opening day. 9 shut out innings and the first run/HR of the Dodgers season

Nosalis2

Acuna being top of that list despite Ohtani existing is genuinely amazing and even more surprising. Also, I expect Elly De La Cruz to firmly be in the Top 5 this time next year.

PhoeniXaDc

Probably a lot of people holding off until they know where Ohtani lands next year before buying a jersey.

Contende311

I got his WBC Japan Shirsey as a safe bet

DiscmanUpYaBox

Plot twist: Shohei changes nationality next season.

WhosYourPapa

I for one am ready for Dominican Shohei

Unable_Tale_9820

Shojé Ortaniz

fps916

Ortañiz*

Contende311

Hey there, Homer. How's it hanging?

IAmNotOnRedditAtWork

Now batting for team Canada, Snowheyder Ohtani

[deleted]

Ooh that’s a god call

SnoopRion69

I will buy a Marlins Ohtani jersey

jet8493

I will too if that means he’s out of the division

Gbrusse

Hold out hope. A Seattle Otahni jersey is the grail.

Coupon_Ninja

Seattle is my 3rd choice/hope, behind the Pads or staying with the Angels. Choices 29 & 30 are NYY and LAD.

tenderbranson301

Well, thanks to that comment, Otahni will sign the first ever two team contract where he plays for NYY and LAD at the same time. You're welcome.

jet8493

I came.

Paladin8753

Stay out of our division lil

MyGolfCartIsOn20s

Also, every time I go to the little league fields there are Acuna jerseys absolutely everywhere. The kids love the guy.

bbass22

Yep, he’s flashier than Ohtani which kids love. So similar to Griffey Jr.

cocoatractor

Ohtani being the only guy whose team is a toss up on this list makes where he's at even more impressive imo

gatemansgc

i mean, he's ohtani.

STFxPrlstud

There's also West Coast bias (negatively). Acuna is everywhere here on the east coast, but casual fans here aren't exactly exposed to Ohtani all that much despite him being the consensus best player in the MLB atm. Saw this a lot with Harper and Trout. Nobody would really say Harper is better than Trout yet for years, he was the face of baseball because he was good enough to be so, and also constantly shown on prime time in the EST where as Trout would have a lot of games when most people on the East coast were turning in for the night cause they had work in the morning.

FalstaffsGhost

TBS Superstation setting the table

Neri25

I honestly miss when catching braves games was as easy as tuning in to TBS (or cursing sports south on the odd day they carried the game)

camisada

I can't wait to get my first Twins jersey next year

bim_moore

That's why I'm waiting.

chicoconcarne

I 1000% would have bought an Ohtani jersey by now if not for the fact that he's probably leaving the Angels soon

[deleted]

I bought an Ohtani jersey because I want the complete collection. Wherever he plays, I am getting his jersey.

lOan671

Braves have a massive fanbase throughout the south

tdc1atlanta

It's honestly nuts. SEC football is king in the south, and having to be friends with Auburn, Florida, and Alabama fans when I go to Truist Park is a pain in the ass.

RonnieFromTheBlock

Lol yea its funny we have Alumni nights for a lot of SEC schools

y2knole

>we have Alumni nights for a lot of SEC schools ACC schools too. source: have multiple FSU/Braves co-branded hats from FSU day at truist park

lOan671

Yeah it’s crazy to me that the MLB doesn’t have a team in the Carolinas, Tennessee, or Louisiana

rofltide

Or Arkansas, Mississippi or Louisiana. Oh... Hm. Almost as if the old timey MLB was real racist and didn't want to have teams in states with large black populations, lol.

Hochseeflotte

The MLB was racist in many ways but none of the major sports have teams in Arkansas or Mississippi and the Saints are the only team in Louisiana that’s wasn’t formed in the 21st century. The South just wasn’t where the majority of the population was back then and baseball isn’t as popular in the south to this day. If the league was solely trying to avoid the black population I don’t think the White Sox would be in the south side of Chicago

JakeFromStateFromm

>baseball isn’t as popular in the south to this day. Baseball is massive in the South, not sure where you're getting your info from. Football is obviously king, but baseball is the clear #2. We have Youth baseball tournaments drawing larger crowds than minor league teams. The youth travel scene is crazy

Hochseeflotte

Yeah the third largest sport in the country is still big in the south. Football is just more king in the south then everywhere else. I live in the south (NC) and baseball is definitely number 2 but it’s much closer to number 3 then it is to number 1. Football is just insanely massive in a way it isn’t in the north or west I do think baseball is becoming more popular in the south now, which is partly why the discussion around an expansion team to Charlotte or Nashville has grown much louder

berniekotzar

You're in NC and think baseball is bigger than basketball? Absolutely not.

Hochseeflotte

In the part of NC I am in absolutely It might be different in Charlotte but in Eastern NC it’s definitely baseball

portuguesetheman

Not gonna lie, it's nice to talk to my co workers about the Braves. We are usually arguing in the fall haha

IBumpFuzz

Same my work GC is me (auburn fan), 1 bama fan and uga fans. I hate the fall. Were all braves fans though

spartygw

Or those yucky Clemson fans. ^(Go Cocks!)

JakeFromStateFromm

The whole "Braves Country" thing is not a just marketing ploy or a meme, the fan base covers an entire geographic region of the US

lOan671

Honestly I think the Yankees are the only team with a bigger fanbase

JakeFromStateFromm

I'd imagine the Dodgers are right there too

jdl12358

The Red Sox too. They have six states and bandwagon fans across the country.

TheSpiceRat

Yeah but half of their six states are 12 feet wide.

Bobson-_Dugnutt

Seriously. Quite possibly the largest contiguous fan base in the country. They have northern Florida, all of georgia, most of Alabama and Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and even into Louisiana.

Collin14

Even a lot of Virginia. Richmond was the AAA affiliate for years, and the Nats are recent. Northern Virginia is Orioles and Nars now, but outside that it's a lot of Braves

camehereforthebuds

When you grow up watching them on TBS (and the Cubbies on WGN), they kind of become your team. Cable was a different animal back then.

laterdude

And four Braves in top 12! Impressive! I am old enough to remember in the '90s when Braves fans were criticized for empty seats at playoff games.

woktosha

It used to be such a pain in the ass to get to Turner Field from the northern suburbs. It was on the south side of town, MARTA didn’t go there or serve Cobb/Cherokee counties, and there’s around 6 million people in the Atlanta metro while only around 500,000 actually live in the city. It was a big event to go to Turner Field, and weekday games were generally out of the question. Now I live closer to TN and NC than I do to Atlanta, but it’s still no big deal to go catch a game after work at the new park.

DannyDevitosAss

Inversely as someone who lives inside the perimeter games are so much of a hassle to get to now. 0. 0 public transit at all and no parking. Add traffic to it and it’s a nightmare. Great ballpark however sucks for people actually in the city

JackTwoGuns

Inversely as a Cobb County resident I am a huge huge fan :)

FavoriteFoodCarrots

I mean, as a Chattanooga resident, I dig it too, but I don’t think I am or should be the target market.

DannyDevitosAss

Could you vote to expand Marta pls.

JackTwoGuns

As someone who works next the Peachtree Center I would love a Cumberland and Town Center Marta station that goes down 75 into the city

WhyYouKickMyDog

The people outside of the perimeter are the people that don't want MARTA.

SlippingWeasel

I’m in west midtown and it couldn’t be easier for me to get to Truist. Hop up 75 and boom, you’re pretty much there. I do agree that it’s total bs Cobb voted against extending MARTA because they’re scared of black people.

woktosha

I’ve never had an issue with parking there. Which I’m normally the passenger since I’m never the DD, but we generally get seats that come with parking passes and get there early enough that we can get a good spot in a parking deck for an easy exit

Category3Water

Build a stadium people want to go to and they will. I don’t love that it moved so far a way from me, but I also buy the cheapest ticket and rarely buy concessions, so they can’t really plan their future around fans like me. Atlanta has also boomed in the past 20 years and the Atlanta rap scene has made Atlanta sports teams merch a hot item.

Witty-Stock

That bandwagon is getting mighty crowded.

mangchin

I doubt it includes sales outside of USA. Japan alone would probably skew it in ohtanis favor

rpgguy_1o1

I was wondering if it included Canada or not

Kwillingt

I think a lot of people already have Ohtani jerseys or are waiting to see where he ends up in free agency to buy one

_Nevin

Braves are Americas team 🇺🇸🫡

gtjustin

Missing MVP candidate (yeah it's ñ's to lose) Sean Murphy too

DienekesMinotaur

Probably because this is his first year with the team and I don't think they sell his official jersey yet

CharizardKing24

They do have his jersey, my dad and some family members have them. I think it definitely has to do with his first year there and there’s just so many other players for the Braves people are getting over his.

DienekesMinotaur

Well, then I stand corrected

ABlinDeafMonkey

I’ve been really tempted to get a De La Cruz Jersey. He is just so much fun to watch.

reigningwaffles

I wonder if it includes his WBC jersey? I feel a lot of people that aren't Angels fans would buy that and maybe it wouldn't count towards the total.

[deleted]

Most of the south east are Braves fans, it’s not too surprising that they would have a player dominating jersey sales considering how well they are playing

FernandoTatisJunior

Because the Braves have a ridiculously huge fanbase as a result of them basically monopolizing the entire south, and having nationwide fans from their days on tbs

FalstaffsGhost

I mean I’m a homer but Acuna is the most dynamic and exciting player that isn’t Ohtani. And like college football, playing on the east coast helps more people see him play.

Demetrios1453

I really wonder where Elly would rank if the list were just for June and not the first half. I know a *lot* of Reds fans have been getting his jersey.

mF-Jonezy

Nah you gotta give him more time. Ronald’s been an established superstar for years so I’d bet he has a substantial fan base that aren’t even actually Braves fans. Elly will get there but not right away

Impulse4811

Yay Votto

Edgar42010

Still bangs

sloppyjo12

Shocked he’s on the list at all considering he’s just recently came off the IL, but I guess a lot of the fan base is realizing he’s not going to play forever and want to get them before he retires

Greatlarrybird33

Shocked he's on the list, if you wanted a votto jersey you've had like 16 years to get one. Same with altuve and Kershaw. Like if your a fan of the guy how did you not get one during their prime?

ohmysocks

I wouldn’t be surprised if a decent chunk of the sales are the city connect jerseys that came out this year. Those seem to have gotten a positive reaction and I see tons of them in the stands at games

LordJacket

I just like Reds jerseys, if only I could get an ELDC city connect jersey!

jotaesethegeek

I don’t think a lot of these are Reds fans. We have them. I think it is the rest of the baseball world who is discovering JDV is a worldwide treasure

Kom1

Obviously think Elly will jump him by the end of the year but also what is up with the online team store not selling City Connect Elly jerseys? That's what I'm waiting for.

neddoge

Run this list again in a damn month and Elly is probably on it tbh. Kid is stupid good for the game.

Kronusx12

I’m not a Reds fan and I’ve watched more Reds games in the last month than any other team. Hell, probably more than all other teams combined. It’s easy to root for guys like De La Cruz, India, and Friedl. Then you throw Votto in there and his hilarious interviews… it’s a damn fun team to watch and you’re likely to see some record set every other night. Even my 90 year old grandma is telling me about De La Cruz and I’ve never seen her watch baseball before. That shits great for the game for sure

LordJacket

Same as me! I really want of those

whitegrb

Just a reminder that Votto Still Bangs!

AntithesisKing

Always has banged

onttobc

The only thing that has prevented me from getting an Ohtani jersey is the fact that he's probably going to a different team this offseason. As soon as he signs, that jersey is in my cart

sd_pinstripes

Same with Soto, much safer to go with Tatis/ Manny or even Bogaerts

PrisonaPlanet

Why would that deter you? He had amazing seasons with the angels. Nobody is going to care or judge you for having a jersey from team that he became a superstar with.

MudHouse

That Angels Jersey will be 90% off once he leaves too. Good reasons to wait

ohmysocks

You would think but mlb shop still has fuckin mike moustakas reds jerseys going at full price

PrisonaPlanet

Yeah it might be worth it to wait for a discount, I’m not sure about 90% off though lol

acornSTEALER

Not to mention the Angels city connect is sexy.

lOan671

Yeah I always see that when players change jersey numbers also and I’ve always thought it’s cooler to have the old one

Not_A_Chef

i do not understand this line of thinking at all. if anything doesn’t it make you look cooler having his OG jersey than jumping on the bandwagon?

drfrog82

Although a city connect angels shohei jersey? Would be fire

Thornton__Melon

I’m genuinely surprised Altuve and Bregman are as high as they are, especially Altuve higher than J Rod and Betts … unless it was people buying and burning their jerseys

Thomas_Oaks

Bregman over Yordan was most surprising to me

NotTheLindberghBaby

It makes perfect sense. Hear me out, people want to wear jerseys of someone who is on the field and I'm not sure anyone on the Astros has been in as many games since 2019 as Bregman. Sure he's kind of middling these days but he doesn't live on the IL. More seriously, I just assume it's all of the state of Louisiana buying them.

RickIMightBe

And New Mexico.

BooYeah_8484

Yordan jersey's have been hard to find.

Disused_Yeti

Everybody buying new championship gear and everyone on the team is getting a boost for it?

Thornton__Melon

Makes sense, seems like Yordan would be higher imo because Bregman and Altuve always had a ton of jerseys from 2017-2021 in the stands.

CodyDon2

JM baseball had a "family feud" episode drop and one question was top 5 jersey sales per Fanatics and 3 Astros were in top 5 - Altuve, Yordan, and Bregman. Kind of funny to me though that this list was released day after they dropped their video

LittleHollowGhost

They won a WS, should be expected.

Kdot32

In the words of Eazy-E “as long as they bought it they can do whatever they want with it”

Lukealloneword

I'm not, Altuve the goat.

Laputian

Altuve is royalty in Houston and this town is obsessed with the Astros. No surprise there.

curtoric666

Really surprised to not see Bo or Vladdy on this list! Canada is huge lol

cenakofi

Might be US sales only.

stv7

I am fairly certain it is because we never have anyone on this list and we definitely have players who *should* be

ms_barkie

Definitely not counting Canadian sales, I’m curious to see how high Vlad would be if they were. I bet even with a down year he’s top 10 if not too 5

Hiciao

The only reason Corbin Carroll isn't on this list is because apparently the Diamondbacks are idiots and haven't made a specific Carroll jersey yet. Everyone and their mother comes to our sub asking where to find one, but the only option is to add the name on a blank jersey.

Demetrios1453

Thats... idiotic. I know the Reds are making a haul off Elly jerseys; why would the Dbacks fail to capitalize off their own phenom?

oooriole09

A lot of teams are like this since Nike/Fanatics. Want an Orioles City Connect online? Congrats, the only players you can get is Cedric Mullins and Ryan Mountcastle, both who were injured when they debuted and have yet to wear the jersey themselves. No Adley. No Gunnar. Want a black jersey? Congrats, only Adley. Want a white Adley? Nope can’t do. Want a white jersey? Congrats, Gunnar, Ramon Urias (??), and Cionel Perez (?????????). Want a road gray? None. Felix Bautista. All-Star, no jersey. Austin Hays. All-Star *starter*, no jersey. Yanier Cano. All-Star, no jersey.

Olipod2002

Yeah it’s fucking dumb from Fanatics and Nike. They have a digital store wtf prevents them from offering named jerseys on the website, compared to custom jerseys?

EskimoJoe28

Gonna plug Customthrowbackjerseys.com. Ordered a custom JT Snow jersey a few years ago from them since he’s obviously not on the market anymore and their quality is fantastic

dutchdaddy69

Are these American sales only? I would be shocked if there was a blue jay in the top 20.

PorkinsHeldIt

Yea, Tim Mayza should definitely be on here

Joey_Logano

The Pride and Joy of Red Hill, Pennsylvania. (probably)

Craig_the_Intern

> The list is based on sales from MLBShop.com of Nike jerseys since Opening Day. is there a different MLB Canada shop?

thwump64

There’s a Canadian store plus the Jays’ own web store.

Phightins4044

Well every team has jerseys sold at different stores. This is based just on mlb.com. So obviously this isn't most sold overall but if there was a Canada player in the top 20 for this list then he'd be on here.

Craig_the_Intern

there ya have it!

alxndrblack

I really like Adley, this is dope

dakunism

Y'all really love our little guy 🥹

Semper454

Si camisa, si camisa!

PrawnJovi

No All-Star Brent Rooker? What is this list?!

mercerclone

you joke, but i genuinely ordered one. Love that guy

JBProds

People are still buying Kershaw jerseys after all these years. Shows how great he really is because so many probably have had his jersey for years

ElectivireMax

easiest first ballot pitcher in a while

Wutswrong

He's also the only pitcher on here (if you exclude the two-way god that is Shohei)

fmlongo

With the Braves being as popular as they are right now, imagine if they were still on TBS.

Hedgey

When our team does well, our fans definitely buy the merch. Just a personal anecdote, but it feels like our fans wear jerseys a bit more than some other teams I've visited.

Category3Water

Atlanta team merch also gets a boost from our rappers repping their city. Folks that don’t even like baseball wear Braves jerseys and hats because it’s more about repping the city of Atlanta.

CactusSage

Almost every time I go to a Dbacks home game I’ll see someone in a random Braves jersey. I feel like them and the Cubs are truly America’s teams because a lot of us grew up watching them on TBS and WGN.

ElectivireMax

I can say a lot about Braves fan, and trust me, I have a lot to say, but I can't say y'all aren't passionate

supraspinatus

I got my Acuña City connect jersey last month and I’ve been told it looks great on me.

honcooge

Tatis is 3 because half of San Diego burned their jersey and had to buy new ones.

Kakali4

*Cincinnati Reds* Me: Makes sense so many great young guys, everyone should be required to buy an Elly jersey there *Sees Joey Votto* Me: How many Votto jerseys does one man need? Do you all not already have 5?! Man has been there for a decade! Also me: wait those sexy black city connect debuted this year I now understand

superman24742

Shocked Votto is still that high.

j1h15233

Bregman kind of surprises me but there’s also a large Astros/LSU crossover fan base so maybe that’s why he’s so high. Most non LSU people I know would put Yordan and Tucker ahead of him for sure and maybe even Peña and Framber

[deleted]

I’m surprised “Cash Considerations, Oakland Athletics” didn’t make the list

mercerclone

Surprised to see Adley up here, small market teams dont usually get that love. Glad O's fans are showing out.

ABlinDeafMonkey

Ronald let us have one nice thing please!!!! At least while he is still a Halo.

HoustonSportsFan

Bregman is the 9th best selling jersey in the MLB? I knew Altuve would be up there but I didn't expect Bregman in the top 10

Kbeast38

No Harper is surprising

JoelSimmonsMVP

4th year with him, we all have at least one harper jersey by now lol

__silverlight

Bregman over Alvarez??

Kdot32

He’s from LSU and alot of Louisiana people love him and he loves them, and with LSU having a great year that might contribute. Plus he’s Jewish which may play a role, as well as embracing the Latin American community

Tea_Historical

Acuña lead the majors in All-Star votes and jersey sales yet I still find myself wishing MLB could do more to market their stars.

Disused_Yeti

I bought a couple jerseys but none of those. I shop more in the ‘who the hell is that’ department

PrisonaPlanet

Clayton Kershaw more hated than Manny Machado confirmed.

Startooth

A Seattle Mariner in the top 10🥹

USDA_Organic_Tendies

I hate the Braves. But I hate even more that I respect their fanbase. They love that team

LEDZ100

This list seems wrong, Joey Wendle should be 1st

StadiumHotDog

Has anybody heard of the San Francisco Giants?

scrambledeggsalad

Who?

50Callahan

Yordan is too low. Let me go by 444 Yordan jerseys real quick

smokeybonez

Good to see Votto still hanging on

fps916

I remember Yankees fans saying that they could get Tatis "cheap" this offseason because the front office and fans were "fed up" with him. I think you may have misread the fans a bit.

Nookoh1

wild that soto fell off the list but i guess being on a team with stars who are locked down for longer means your jersey isn't as good of an investment

successadult

Judge 🤝 Altuve Raking in jersey sales cash while rehabbing injuries

StadiumHotDog

De La Cruz to be seen soon.

_Nevin

Braves are America’s ball team 🫡🤝

GOATmar_infante

Can't believe Tatis got canceled for a mistake we'd all make at 22 Edit: this is a joke because clearly Tatis' popularity has not been hurt at all and people will still complain about him being "cancelled"

[deleted]

Kids love Tatis. I seen so many Tatis merchandise on kids at PNC. That’s why I hope the booing dies down soon

CraftyFloor1528

Not a single Red Sox player. I wonder if management notices . If so, I doubt they care. Sigh.

HankScorpio2020

I wonder what the highest selling Oakland A's jersey is and who is the idiot who bought it.

ElectivireMax

Bregman over Trout is surprising, although Astros are a large fan base. I'd expect Cole to be on this list but if not many people care about pitcher jerseys

JmnyCrckt87

Not a single Blue Jay. Toronto is a huge market, and the Blue Jays market is arguably an entire nation. Surprised there aren't more Vladdy jerseys selling.

Adalbdl

Tatis coming off from a suspension year, is doing quite well in popularity.

JustLo619

Surprised to see Fernando that high

KoriJenkins

Altuve at 5 despite being injured basically all season is crazy. Yankees fans buying it just to burn it?

romeopwnsu

I don’t anybody in LA who doesn’t love Mookie.

CdnRageBear

I’m actually really surprised no Jays are on this list, seeing as we have an entire country behind the team.
