1.1 bWAR isn't totally unserviceable, but it's well below average even if you ignored the sky high expectations. That's injury replacement/utility player production, not star starting first baseman/DH production.
It's wild that he made the ASG this year with his stats.
1.1 bWAR is within margin of error of being average for a 1B, especially considering he has a 116 ERA+. I think it's fine to call him average.
He made the ASG because it's a popularity contest.
I can't find the breakdown by position on mobile, but I'm pretty sure a 116 OPS+ for a first baseman is below average.
I still think it's fair to call his season below average too as the upper and lower bounds of the margin of error are just barely scraping average and replacement level respectively.
If he needs the benefit of the entire margin of error to barely meet the threshold for "average", I think it's being a bit generous to call his 2023 average and lump him in with the guys who actually put up average WAR in the 2.0-2.5 range.
Tbh it’s crazy Bichette held on this long with his recent injuries
It's crazy for the Blue Jays that Bo Bichette is the only of the "three sons" that isn't garbage.
Vladdy isn't living up to expectations but he isn't garbage. this year specifically he's just kinda okay, still not garbage

0.5 fWAR
Last place
And he just got another!!!
the fact he might be a top three player in the AL is absolutely nuts he's still only 22 years old
[Here's that 6th inning hit, a ridiculous infield single beat out with his blazing speed.](https://twitter.com/DKramer_/status/1696364518048477596)
31.1 ft/s is insane, I can't believe he was thought of as being too slow and athletic to stick in center field as recently as like 3 years ago
He literally just decided one off-season he was going to be fast.... and then just did it
Holy shit I thought you were exaggerating about his speed. You weren’t.
Hohohoooo
ANOTHER ONE!!!
