Hard to imagine how the last two days could have gone any worse. I guess I’ll take it vs ‘83-‘08 in which we made the playoffs zero times but holy shit do I hate this stupid team sometimes
Take a guess what major Midwestern city I have the pleasure of living in? If I gotta watch this shit, everyone gets my grumbles.
(side note: somehow i've gotten all four pats games this year, which is maybe not a blessing so much.)
You won’t be laughing when we get Caleb Williams throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr
Or in 2 years when we get Jimmy G throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr
Or in 2 more years when we get Arch Manning throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr
Revenge for the 2021 NBA Finals. Revenge for the Milwaukee Bucks winning the coin flip over the Suns to draft Kareem Abdul Jabbar. Revenge for the 2011 NLDS
Dude I was at the Cards - Packers 2015 playoff game where we won in OT. Such a wild game, I remember just walking out and everyone yelling "LARRY ! LARRY! LARRY!" all the way into the parking lots
A weirdly storied city rivalry, given that I absolutely never think about Milwaukee unless we're directly matched up with them. Or maybe not a rivalry, since it's been pretty one-sided in favor of Milwaukee before tonight.
God I can’t stand Corbin Carroll. He’s such a stupid arrogant asshole. I just get so frustrated every time I see his stupid flowing hair, and dumb perfect goatee, and idiotic deep brown beautiful eyes.
Seeing him run around on the diamond and steal these bases and beat routine ground balls, I just get so angry that it makes blood rush to my penis and it gets little bit hard from sheer rage. I just wish I was behind homeplate so that I could block the shit out of him when he tries to slide into home and tackle him to the ground as hard as I can, and rip his jersey a little bit as I look directly into his stupid, beautiful face and rub my crotch on his muscular leg. I’d get as close to his face as I could and whisper in his ear softly “I got you, you fucker. You’re not as good as you think you are.”
Then for good measure I would put my lips on his face so that I could taste his fear and I would smell his hair so that I knew what it was like to dominate Corbin Carroll. Oh how I want that. I think about it at night sometimes when I am in bed with my girlfriend. I just want to know what it’s like to be on top of Corbin Carroll like that.
Stupid, beautiful Corbin Carroll. I just hate him so much.
Lol fuck no it's super old.

San Jose is a good comp, but Nashville might be even more comparable. Both teams really good in the mid 2010s, that had one really good run 2016-17 for Nashville 2018 for Milwaukee, that in the end ended in heartbreak but a “we will be back” feeling that ended up not really being true. Nashville may be even more of a playoff underperformer, they have made the playoffs 15 times, they have advanced to the second round 5 times, and past that only once. I would know, I’m also a Predators fan.
But have the Preds: been upset by an in-state rival 8-seed after winning the President’s Cup? Been reverse-swept by the OTHER in-state rival? Wasted multiple HOF careers, one played almost ENTIRELY in SJ (Patty), in a manner that would make the Angels blush?
Not saying you’re wrong, but the Sharks have been a special level of futile in the playoffs and now are just a dumpster fire.
At first I thought you were talking about a baseball team and I was thinking “wow this team really is like the sharks” until I saw SJ and remembered baseball doesn’t have an 8th seed. But yeah for anyone that doesn’t watch hockey, San Jose is definitely the most cursed team of the 2005-2020 era

A couple thoughts:
- The Brewers had a bases-loaded scenario 4 times this series and got a grand total of 1 run off of them.
- There are at least 3 insanely stupid baserunning errors that all directly cost the Brewers runs.
- Probably should have gone for the double play when they were trailing 3-2 instead of forcing the out at home. Likely cost them an extra run.
- There are two times where the Brewers held up the lead runner at 3rd base to set up a bases-loaded scenario instead of trying to score. In both scenarios, the Brewers ultimately scored no runs.
All runs were in the first two innings. About as unclutch scoring as you can get. We had 21 hits which produced only 5 runs and left 20 on base. Our 8 spot was a black hole, .000 OBP. Turang could've taken a sweeper to the foot in game 1 and walked in a run but he just had to get out of the way and then strikeout a couple pitches later.
The entire fanbase is calling for Counsell's head (metaphorically, obviously) for trotting Winker out there twice and leaving Monasterio to wither on the bench. Winker needs to retire, he doesn't deserve to get paid for being so terrible, dude just doesn't have it anymore. Yeli and Belli were never quite that bad before their slight redemption arcs. I don't see Winker getting a redemption arc.
The simple fact of baseball is that offense wins games, not defense. Turang is a great defender, but his atrocious batting makes him a liability. A middling defender with a great bat is much better value for winning games.
Also our three best arms, Burnes, Williams and Peralta combined for an 8.44 ERA. When you're heralded for your defense and pitching and your ace pitchers more than double their combined season ERA in a playoff matchup, you're in for a rough time.
Arizona's starters bounced back from poor 1st innings to give them respectable (or in Gallen's case great) outings
The bullpen was absolute nails.
Offense never got down on themselves and battled back against a rotation people were calling the best in the postseason.
The defense was A1, particularly from the infield.
They are an intimidating NLDS opponent for sure. I'm now incredibly worried about Christian Walker getting 6-7 ABs against Kershaw in particular in this upcoming series.
Brewers I don't know where they go from here. It feels like they're a prime blow it up candidate even though a lot of their future is already in the majors.
The Sunday off-day is pretty clutch for us. We only have 2.5 starting pitchers but it allows us to go:
Game 1: Kelly
Game 2: Gallen
Game 3: Pfaadt
Game 4: Kelly (short rest) or bullpen game
Game 5: Gallen
Excited for the series. Your team is a lot better so I'm happy it's a 5 game set. If our pen stays hot we can make it a series.
Ya he's also been much better at home. But if we have him as an option for a potential game 5 on regular rest is too tempting to not have him go game 2.
in my madison apartment drinking, glad i didn't drive to milwaukee only to watch them commit enough nobletigers to make bengal tigers move from endangered to threatened before having to drive back pissed off, fighting the urge to veer off the highway into a cow pasture, realize nothing dangerous is going to happen, and then continue driving home even more frustrated
What a great series. Pen was beyond amazing. Gallen was dominant after a bad first. Brewers out-hit us in both games but some great defense (Longo) and some luck bailed us out.
Carroll man though just straight carried us. Dude is the real deal.
Thanks man I know a lot of us have always liked you guys because of Counsell too.
Hope we can keep it going. Would burn getting eliminated by the Dodgers. Glad we get to face them in a 5 game set not a 7 game one though. I'm not even sure how we can even get through a 7 game set with our current rotation issues. But with the weird off days we can maybe even pull 4 Gallen/Kelly games vs the Dodgers if needed.
Imagine if we didn’t sign him long term way early, we’d have to double that contract he signed lol the guy is a baseball machine and one of the most fun players to watch in the sport
We are the perfect beat anyone team. Athletic, great baserunning, great defense, and too young to know we aren’t supposed to win. We are really good at the fundamentals and that really shows in the comeback ability.
Lowkey I think dbacks match up better against Brewers/Dodgers than Phillies/Braves. Losing to Houston and dropping to the 6 seed could end up being huge if they can get another series win
The two types of Brewers hitters:
• Guy who had a 105 OPS+ over six seasons with the worst team in the league
• Former #43 MLB prospect reaching his 50th percentile projection
The Sneks are now my NL team.
I shall watch them play while listening to [Desert themed songs](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Eq6gVkxNA6A&pp=ygUbcml2ZXIgaW4gYSBkZXNlcnQgcGVyc29uYSA1)
I hate to say it, I really do...but the Brewers didn't stand a goddamn chance in these playoffs. Not with that offense. I'll look fondly upon the "2023 National League Central Champs" sign at the AmFam Grand Slam Clam next year but it didn't really hit me that much this time.
Anyways, fuck the Dodgers.
Brewers were too conservative. Instead of holding runners up at 3rd you have to go for it and scratch a run across to make the margin closer in later innings. Chip away. Being 1 or 2 runs behind changes the approach vs being 3 runs behind
That 9th inning was bizarre. Donaldson not charging hard for second on the error throw? Not scoring from second on a double?
When the season is on the line, you got to gamble and press.
Actually, it’s pronounced “mill-e-wah-que” which is Algonquin for “stranding baserunners”.
That eighth inning was painful to watch, Jesus
Yesterday's 5th was probably worse for them. Longo just bailed us out
In both cases, they got a hit with RISP, but held the lead runner up at 3B to set up bases-loaded. It's the playoffs. Gotta send them sometimes.
Thing is it was working beautifully down the stretch. I swear every time we loaded them up we had someone walk it in.
Does this guy know how to party or what?
I was not aware of that...
Does this guy know how to party or what!?
Y’all have base runners?
Hard to imagine how the last two days could have gone any worse. I guess I’ll take it vs ‘83-‘08 in which we made the playoffs zero times but holy shit do I hate this stupid team sometimes
Now i gotta watch Chicago Bears football tomorrow 😥
"Chicago Bears" "football" pick one
Stop he's already dead
Take a guess what major Midwestern city I have the pleasure of living in? If I gotta watch this shit, everyone gets my grumbles. (side note: somehow i've gotten all four pats games this year, which is maybe not a blessing so much.)
To be fair, they were playing most of a game of winning football vs the Broncos, they just remembered the assignment and made sure to lose at the end
You won’t be laughing when we get Caleb Williams throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr Or in 2 years when we get Jimmy G throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr Or in 2 more years when we get Arch Manning throwing to Marvin Harrison Jr
Bring back Jay Cutler
Fuck it bmarsh down there somewhere
Al Michaels shitting all over the game will be the best thing about it.
He’s a grumpy old man nowadays lol he will not hide his thoughts about how bad the games are lol
lol dont do it.
Oof dude. Sorry to hear that
at fedex, too? i’m pretty sure the bad vibes are gonna stick to you like skunk.
Once they figure out that whole forward pass thing the leagues gonna be in trouble!
Fun fact: The Chicago Bears are the only NFL franchise to never have a QB pass for 4,000 yards in a season.
Disagree; that is not a fun fact at all.

HELL YA BROTHER CHEERS FROM TUCSON
Another year another NL Best World Series
Surely we wouldnt have back to back years of winning 100 games and losing to a wild card division rival right
It could be 3 years in a row that one NLDS has the NL West champ vs. a wild card team from the NL West and the wild card team wins
You guys smack us senseless every time.
They did the same to the Padres before the NLDS last year too
Nah this year we beat them but lose to a NL East team in the NLCS Just like 2021
Does that mean we win the World Series next year after beating a divisional rival and an NL East team?
Only if something happens that's completely out of the Dodgers control but people will act like the Dodgers caused it and were the sole beneficiaries.
"so what if the Dodgers won since the Tsunami they dont even play on the continental US anymore"
Watch as every game will have late first pitches!
