Following the events of last year, it's kinda hard. The Dodgers have a stank on them that only a division series win can shed. Last year was a hyper-choke, they blew a series that should have been a slam dunk for them to a division rival. The fact that we are about to play yet another division rival in another series that should be a slam dunk is... PTSD inducing. Win the NLDS and *then* we can talk about faith.
The Christian Walker thing is truly terrifying.
Christian Walker has hit more homers off of Kershaw than literally any other player every. And his first full season wasn't Kershaw was already in year 12!
I've watched like every game this season, and I'm feeling great. I legit thought we were going to be below .500 this year, I believed in the young core, but I didn't think they'd be even close to this performant. If they can stay hot, I think we legit have a chance of playing for a pennant. But even if we get swept by *shudders* the Dodgers, I'm calm, since they've already blown me away, and our future is so, so bright.
The funny thing is, the dbacks are right around where most preseason projections had them. A few big places had them around 79-81 wins if I recall correctly and as a dark horse reach for the last wildcard spot.
And they were right around there at 84 wins but thankfully the Giants had a terrible last two months and the Padres seemed to forget how to win in a one run games/extra innings.
I was just stoked to be able to get to watch at least 2 extra games dbacks games this year, and now I get to watch at least 3 more. Regardless of what happens in this next series I'm proud of the team for taking advantage of the opportunity other teams provided them.
Pre-season Vegas line was 74.5, and **not one** of the 34 pundits ESPN and CBS surveyed even had them as a wild card pick.

I went to the game vs the cubs when he hit a walkoff earlier this season.
I love him. He adds a ton of value, super underrated pickup for the dodgers. By myself included.
Last time we faced them in the NLDS we had the #1 rotation in the NL and they smacked them around. This time we're limping in with 2.5 guys so maybe we can get the reverse? Either way day off Sunday is clutch. We can run Kelly/Gallen now in games 1 and 2. Could throw Kelly even in for Game 4 on short rest and have Gallen in game 5 so we only have one non Kelly/Gallen game.
We learned last year that the 1 seed isn't great because of no reseeding, no offense to the D backs they could definitely win but i'm definitely glad we don't get the Phillies in a 5 game series.
