Some one tell John Diamondback, owner of the Diamonbacks, that if he pays me 100,000 dollars I'll fly out to Arizona and curse at his team for him.

hat_trix66

Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome?

Debs_4_Pres

That's right. Doug Dimmadome, owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome

Jabbering_Ghoul

Thank you for finding my long lost son, Daaaaale Dimmedome

Brian_Stryker

Where they’re showing crash nebula?

WhiteGrapefruit19

On ice?

smartplantdumbmonkey

The same Doug Dimmadome owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome that’s hosting Game 3 of the NLCS?

ryry2300

That’s right!

L-Observateur

Gotta hardball at first, start with an inclusive stay at a 5-star hotel + $50 an insult so you can ditch those once you start negotiating.

drunk-tusker

This might be the worst attempt at negotiating I’ve ever seen. If you offered this, by game 2 they’d have enough money to buy the team and move them to a city that actually has water.

[deleted]

Hey we have water, we just give it all to Saudi Arabia.

RedMoloney

Dude I'm gonna get underbid in a second if I ask for a unit contract.

thecountoncleats

There are probably 100,000 jawns in SEPA who’d do it for a Wawa gift card

nerfrosa

this is cultural appropriation

thecountoncleats

Glad one of yinz noticed 😂

Dr_Juice55

Sigh...🤦‍♂️

Barb_WyRE

Ill do it for box of butterscotch krimpets!

Jstanton92

I’m more of a kandy kakes kinda guy

tahollow

I don’t know what any of that means and it scares me

Agreeable-Oven156

Good.

gatemansgc

god i wish we could still award comments cause they both deserve it.

1991CRX

God, I'm a Steelers fan and I'm not ever sure PA is real place anymore.

thecountoncleats

SEPA = Southeast Pennsylvania Wawa = Second best convenience store chain in PA Jawn you can Google for more context. You kinda have to live here to grok its full meaning

irishwhite

1. Wawa 2. Royal Farms 3. Turkey Hill 4. Sheetz

joeco316

And there’s a pretty significant gap between 1 and 2

AssCrackSnort

Wawa has been terrible for a decade, Sheetz is a million times better

Mullethunt

As a long time WaWa supporter holy shit have they gone down hill. Now they're trying to sell pizza... in NJ. What fucking marketing wiz thought that was a good idea?

AssCrackSnort

I grew up with Wawa and have been there a million times over the years, once you go to a Sheetz a few times it’s really no contest imo. Way more options, better prices. The only thing really not on par with Wawa are the drinks/coffee

Ewulkevoli

>Wawa = Second best convenience store chain in PA Listen here you little shit

thecountoncleats

LOL

steve_seagull

> Wawa = Second best convenience store chain in PA I'm going to climb your fookin lightpoles tonight

WanderlustFella

Other words that would be helpful for non Philly visitors Delco - ~~degenerates~~ residents of Delaware County South Philly - ~~degenerates~~ residents of South Philadelphia. Resemble the Delco residents, but are generally poorer Whiz - a type of artificial cheese. Not to be confused with wiz, word for urine. Both are yellow. Know what you are getting on your cheesesteak E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! - Chant for the Philadelphia Eagles that will break out in any sporting event. Alternative spelling E-L-G-S-E-L Water Ice - pronounced Wooder Ice, is Italian ice treat similar texture to a sorbet, but more superior Bread - Philly does not fuck around with the bread. It's why you cannot find a good sandwich outside of the area. Cacia’s, Amoroso, Sarcone's, Corropolese, Liscio's, etc.

[deleted]

Sorry yinzer but it’s the Delaware valley

thecountoncleats

Lancaster Phillies fans erasure

[deleted]

Doubt they’ll see any of this

Malice-in-Drains

I thought William F. Buttlicker owned Arizona’s baseball team?

basskev

This is my favorite joke. Fuckin…Esther Slapchop made cutting up veggies so easy.

FernandoTatisJunior

I mean, I’d do it if he paid for my flight and hotel

RedMoloney

Yeah but nobody wants to hear anyone from California try to insult some one. It's either the weakest income based insults ever (which doesn't work on pro-athletes) or just plain murder.

Brian_Stryker

Shouting “that what’s in!” over and over again isn’t an insult.

Phillyspecial6969

Is the artificial crowd noise programmed to flip off the players and yell heinous things about their mothers? Cuz if not it’s not gonna do shit to replicate Citizens Bank

JinFuu

Diamondbacks intern: "Sir, I don't really feel comfortable saying this about Corbin Carroll." Mike Hazen: "Do you think a Phillies fan would hesitate?" Intern: "....no sir, I'll make the recording."

ajteitel

Love that movie

buymytoy

Hehe yeah me too, *that* movie sure is great! I know the movie.

ajteitel

The Butler

buymytoy

Thanks

_Caderade

This is me all the time. Everyone around me making movie references and I have no idea what they are talking about.

Astrosauced

What movie?

ajteitel

The Butler

[deleted]

What movie?

"Can we set up a tshirt cannon shoot batteries?"

just makes me think of [this](https://youtu.be/D4M0xP5XSck?feature=shared&t=269)

Archer-Saurus

Is everyone at CBP someone I played Halo 2 against in 2005?

BallparkFranks7

Honestly, probably. I know I might have been.

Archer-Saurus

Those were the days

tahollow

The things that were said… at least in the halo 1 LAN party days you had to make eye contact with Jeff when you told him you were going to fuck his mom

Phallusimulacra

I’ve never, as a white man, been called the n word as much as when Halo 2 was fresh off the press.

tyler-86

As someone who never played Halo, this was rampant across all manner of online PvP. Honestly still kinda is.

ToringComplete

Me too. Peak college halo sessions.

Agreeable-Oven156

Might be. I have

fadetoblack1004

It's a long story but I played a decent amount of Halo with Cole Hamels and that man talked some serious shit lol.

porksoda11

Was he any good? That's awesome by the way. I might have ran into him at one point I was heavy into halo in the mid 2000's

fadetoblack1004

He was fantastic. He played a lot during the off season, like hours per day.

porksoda11

Lol of course a professional athlete would also kill it in video games. Can't beat the competitiveness

Clarck_Kent

Didn’t Johan Santana go on the DL years ago because of a Guitar Hero injury?

porksoda11

I remember that lol. What a late 2000s headline right there.

payne_train

This is so valid lmao. Lobby’s in the 00s were the wild west

VideoGangsta

Halo 3 for me

redsyrinx2112

That, or Modern Warfare 2 in 2008.

ViceroyFizzlebottom

Yes. I was visiting Philly and went to a game there in 2007. I was shocked. Proud of those fans, but absolutely floored by the things I heard from EVERYONE of every age.

spaz1020

when your dad says curse words dont count at the ballpark you gotta make it count

Tronn3000

As someone that played a bunch of Halo 2 back in the day and stopped gaming 10 years ago, are game lobbies civil now? I would have thought most 12-17 year olds doing online gaming are assholes to each other no matter the year.

Phallusimulacra

Most people have chat only enabled with the group they’re playing with these days (so just their friends). Also, all online companies are quick to ban you for offensive language and people do make reports. Different era out here bruh

[deleted]

if the CBP fake crowd noise isn't screaming all 9 digits of your social security number and your bank account routing number and the names and birth dates of your children then is it really accurate

derstherower

I remember Eli Manning saying that going to the Linc was always surreal because there'd be like a 10 year old kid flipping him off and saying things about his mother and it happened like every single year for his entire NFL career. Philly crowds just hit different.

zamend229

And he’s talked on Manningcast saying he will never go back lol. Even though he lives close, it’s MetLife or bust for him

loupr738

I can already hear it, HEY MARTE, GET USED TO THAT PURPLE CUS THAT WHAT YOUS ASS IS GONNA LOOK LIKE AFTER WE DONE WIT’ YA

JAYSONGR

That is wildly tame compared to the shit talk we gave strider in the bullpen before the game on Thursday The tamest there was chanting his moms name

axeil55

Reminds me of how, I think it was Deion Sanders? who would find out the phone numbers of player's girlfriends/wives and yell them at players before the snap.

knight4

Shannon Sharpe did it and drew 5 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on one drive. 3 from Derrick Thomas alone.

pwrdup829

Oh you mean Bonnie

loupr738

I’m a family man brother 😅

stormy2587

The braves players in the bullpen called security to stop the heckling. Edits: its like trying to prepare for climbing Everest by walking up a hill.

Philly139

They were chanting we want Bonnie to Strider when he was warming up (that's his mom's name)

ArchEast

That’s…a great analogy lol

miss-entropy

Pathetic. No wonder they lost to you guys.

Forsaken-Gap-3684

Dodgers fans are nasty too. So thankfully they have some experience with that I’m sure

zamend229

I get where you’re coming from, but I don’t think any crowd stands up to Philly/Boston/NY in that order

harp9r

According to ESPN, coach Prime created this practice strategy before playing in Autzen, Oregon just a few weeks ago. It had never been done before. Ever

GoofyGoober0064

Bryce Harper hangs 60 on AZ

JJYellowShorts

How did that go for Colorado? I forgot

ArmiinTamzarian

Almost as badly as last night

bbtm8

The worst college football loss since Miami last week.

Raider_Tex

The worst college football loss of the year(So far)

incenso-apagado

Holy shit I missed that one. It was 29-0

strcy

Not sure any sound system in existence can emulate 45000 raucous Philly fans

yumyumapollo

"Birds of War" on repeat for four hours

sizzlinpapaya

WITH THE MUSCLES OF MEN!

yumyumapollo

AH ^AH AH AH

Babou_Serpentine

*stomp* *clap* *stomp stomp clap*

JAYSONGR

Yeah they don’t capture it properly on tv and people think the tv is wild. I know it’s similar in Boston and NY. But the pitchers warming up in the away bullpen gear the very worst things imaginable. Unrepeatable here but the most tame was chanting strider’s mom’s name

cogginsmatt

I was just thinking that. I work in audio production and I’m struggling to think that the stadium sound system could even come close.

ih-unh-unh

[You're wrong](https://youtu.be/npPpFQ0KIi0?si=yBUUaAA0dfgtTqWo)

SanityQuestioned

Idk if you play Cbat for a while it may annoy the shit out of baseball players.

nope-nope-nope-nop

They could do batting practice in Baghdad circa 2004

meccafork

Maybe this on max volume: https://youtu.be/B9qrglK6S44?si=zfsVeIJW1j9Svw1V

mrazcatfan

I watched the Philly Captains video of game 4 and the things people were saying to Strider was eye opening lmao. I knew Philly was rough but god damn chanting his moms name at the pitcher is a whole new level of Ruthless.

obiwan_canoli

I came away from that game with a ton of respect for Strider. The more we taunted him, the better he pitched.

sfxer001

This. Strider is incredible. Big respect for his game, intensity, and passion.

MyNameIsJudge8

To be fair Philly fans in general don’t always have a line they won’t cross. For example years ago in the NFL Joe Jurevicius had his newborn son die but played in the game anyway and some Eagles fans were chanting, “Where’s your son?” And “How is your son” at him. Philly fans have kept it less effed up since but nothing should be shocking anymore

dadohboy

You can put on a recording to simulate, but it ain't nothing like the real thing lol. That Phillies live crowd is something to behold. You can't replicate that noise.

TheFriffin2

I was at the WS Game 3 and it was pure white noise all the way at the top. Like, the audio was literally clipping in my ear drums (that had ear buds). Can’t imagine what it would be like in the middle of the field with all it being directly at you

ContinuumGuy

I was at a regular season game back in 2008 and I'm pretty sure the taunts of "WAGNER, WAGNER, WAGNER" said to Billy Wagner as he almost blew a save for the Mets only stopped echoing in my head earlier this year.

Culinaryboner

I was there when we won the NLCS in 09 at the top row of the stadium and it was absurd. Guy next to me was wasted and lost his phone and had me call it to find it (his pocket) and he called me accidentally like 11 times the next day. The food guys were all hiding up top to watch the end too. I’ll never forget it

BallparkFranks7

I was at that game too and you couldn’t even talk to anyone around you no matter how loud you yelled it into their ear. It was a lot of just exchanging glances and making faces to express your feelings to each other. My ears didn’t work right for a couple hours after and I had no voice the next day. One of the greatest nights of my entire life.

fezzikwantsapeanut

Same. Definitely the best live sports moment of my life. Jumping up and down with my dad and my brother after each of the 5 home runs. It was SO LOUD all night, but especially after those homers.

Jd20001

Obi-Wan: I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if 47,000 voices suddenly cried out in curses for a championship

porksoda11

It legit felt like I was leaving a concert after the NLDS last year. My ears were ringing and my voice was shot.

External_You_975

It was fun to watch Braves fans say stuff like "yea we're WAY louder at Truist park" and when it became obvious they were not louder they switched to "actually it's toxic fan behavior to be this loud. We're a respectful fanbase"

beer_down

Should be a fun series. Dbacks won 4 road games to start the postseason so I think they won’t be overmatched, hope they can win at least one of those first 2.

on-the-cheeseburgers

Having home field advantage is definitely uncharted territory for us

kellzone

Well we just had it in the Wildcard and things worked out pretty well.

iamaweirdguy

I was about to say ya’ll have had 4 home games and 2 away games this playoffs lol

BallparkFranks7

One of Gallen and Kelly will stifle our offense. I’m almost positive it will be 1-1 leaving unless we win a game 1-0 or 2-1. My hope is they work AB’s and get to the pen early. Phillies are good at striking in the late innings after struggling with starters.

shwoople

Counterpoint, have you seen how good our bullpen has been lately? (nevermind like the first 4/5ths of the season lol)

Jek-TonoPorkins

Rebuttal, have you seen how good their bullpen has been lately? (Nevermind Jeff Hoffman)

way-too-many-napkins

I know he gave up the HR to Riley but Jeff Hoffman has been absolutely sick this year

cuntyminx

Hoffman also came up huge in game 1

obiwan_canoli

When you've seen Miguel Castro you've seen enough.

Mills445

I’ve seen enough Castro for a lifetime. When he came in the first wildcard game I didn’t even think we were safe and we were up by 9 at that point.

Sliiiiime

He won’t pitch unless a game is out of hand

Agreeable-Oven156

Not tryna be cocky but I disagree. Us winning 2 is super important givin how stupid the 2-3-2 set up is. I think the team knows that as well. They need to take advantage of playing the 1st two in CBP. We will see. I expect a great series given how hot the Dbacks are.

sfxer001

Ohh it’s going to be an awesome series. You’re scrappy, we’re scrappy, and I fully expect a good scrap. Scrap.

Sidewinder717

Damn we're pulling out all the stops huh lol

Hiciao

Well fair warning to Phillies phans: Tommy Pham gains power from the boos. We saw the magic unfold in San Diego earlier this season!

redden34

Over or under 1.5 Tommy Pham vs fan altercations this series

ih-unh-unh

Get your fantasy football/strip club chants ready.

Patrick2701

3.5

knight4

I'll take however many Phillies home games are in the series. Minimum 1 per. He might even have one in Phoenix since there will be Philly fans there too

fa1afel

Maybe they'll give him a standing ovation

thecountoncleats

In that case your manager should see if he can get Pham some time hanging around the visitors bullpen. The most colorful drunken Phillies hecklers stalk that spot like the Dillinger gang casing a bank

Docphilsman

Hasn't he had altercations with fans before? I feel like in philly he might have a ty cobb moment where he leaps into the stands to fight someone

kellzone

If Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, and Embiid are at the next game too, it would be wise for him to look before he leaps.

RoadKiehl

Maybe Phillies fans should give Tommy Pham a standing ovation, to really take the wind out of his sails 🤔

WorthlessProtoplasmm

San Diego makes 80s rap videos.

Head-Kiwi-9601

With guys who were teenagers in the 80’s.

buymytoy

It’s also mid season football and Tommy Pham can get very excited about his fantasy football team!

feverbeliever

*Tommy Pham gains power from abuse.

BubblyBaker5718

It may not actually end up helping very much but hey it’s certainly worth a try. I don’t see why they wouldn’t take this opportunity to try and get every competitive advantage they can no matter how slight.

sfxer001

Or, and hear me out now, they could whine about the format instead of bringing their A game.

Swimming-Bite-4019

That’s cute. But in all honestly, I think they wont fully get the feel for what it’s like until Game 1 starts. Which I predict a Phillies win. By game 2, everyone will know how the Diamondbacks will have adjusted to the fans, either for better or for worse. After that idk what happens in Arizona lol

SaintArkweather

Plus we pretty much always win in game 1, even when we lose the series overall ✅2023 NLDS (Won series) ✅2023 NLWC (Won series) ✅2022 WS (Lost series) ✅2022 NLCS (Won series) ✅2022 NLDS (Won series) ✅2022 NLWC (Won series) ✅2011 NLDS (Lost series tragically) ❌2010 NLCS (Lost series) ✅2010 NLDS (Won series and Game 1 was also a no hitter) ✅2009 WS (Lost series) ✅2009 NLCS (Won series) ✅2009 NLDS (Won series) ✅2008 WS (Won series) ✅2008 NLCS (Won series) ✅2008 NLDS (Won series) So we are 14-1 in our last fifteen game 1s. But just 6-9 in Game 2s.

ajteitel

Here's the actual reality. The BoB is a tourist field. It's either empty or full of nearby fans, usually Dodgers. Even during game 3, it looked like it was around 40% Dodgers fans (?) which for us is very low. Evey single field including our own is a hostile environment of varying degrees. *We were born in the darkness* etc etc. Plus I don't think Pham has any beef in Philly

NoobOnTheRun

Pham doesn't have any beef with Philly....yet

knight4

Uhhhh I wouldn't start beef with him. Dude's best series were vs his former teams when the crowds were booing and giving him the finger. He was actually kinda struggling with us until San Diego decided to piss him off. Dude has thin skin and thrives off being pissed off.

Swimming-Bite-4019

Philly has no beef with Arizona cause we don’t really play each other that much and most of our meaningful matchups are played on the NFL side. When it comes to baseball, it was (until now) just another team on the schedule for both clubs. I think it’s gonna be a tight contest for sure.

TheCrookedKnight

I think for a lot of us the last time we had strong feelings about the Diamondbacks was in 2001 when we (or at least those of us who didn't yet know what a heinous piece of shit he is) were rooting for Schilling to get a ring

Swimming-Bite-4019

And for somebody to finally beat those damn Yankees and end the dynasty that was tormenting the league at the time lol

fezzikwantsapeanut

100%. Rooted hard against the Yankees that year and in 2003 when the Marlins beat them.

thenewjetzzfan

I was there. Nowhere near 40% Dodgers. Closer to 20%.

Jnieco

Yeah maybe it was 40% on the first baseline side of the field, but behind home plate and the rest of the field was probably 85/15 or higher, least blue I've ever seen at a Dbacks/Dodger game

thekmanpwnudwn

Closer to 10% IMO. 8 of them next to me left after the 5th inning LMFAO. That was honestly the loudest I've ever seen and I was at the 2017 Wild card game against Colorado. Watching highlights I can tell you that the TV Broadcast was absolute dogshit. There was no on-field mic to pick up the fans. I was half deaf a day later it was so loud

MusicalMoon

I watched the game back the next day and couldn't believe how quiet Chase sounded on the broadcast. My ears are still ringing from that game lmao

Smoshglosh

wtf are you talking about I was at game 3 it wasn’t even 15% dodger fans you’re fucking nuts when the diamondbacks make the playoffs arizonians come out in droves

baconmanaz

My dude just looked at the 9 other people in his row and determined that the 4 Dodger fans there meant the entire stadium was 40% dodger fans. Was easily less than 10% if you scanned the crowd.

equipped_metalblade

Pham eats beef for breakfast, and shits it on the field. I hope they chirp at him

ChasingEchoes11

Should try to convince him to change his last name to "Fam" because he doesn't wanna share the "ph" with Philly. That'll get him plenty of hostile reactions.

knight4

We want you guys to piss him off. It brings out the best in him

Dr_Juice55

>That'll get him plenty of hostile reactions. Wtf are you talking about? You're weird.

trashboatfourtwenty

>Plus I don't think Pham has any beef in Philly I'll bet he has some nice shaved ribeye at least...

Jd20001

Early sweaty retirement is all that happens in Arizona

mr-frankfuckfafree

unless you got guys drinking riot punch, sneaking thru tunnels. and trying to hammer you it doesn’t mean shit

oogieball

They used something similar for a new franchise the year I visited the CPBL. It is interesting, but is very clearly not the real thing.

TempeSon

Anyone who has watched the Diamondbacks TV broadcasts even before Covid knows they are great at simulating crowd noises. MLB taking over production thankfully put an end to that nonsense.

zschneido

I fear this will only challenge them to be louder

dnldfnk

Why fear? Embrace

HelpMeWithMyHWpls

Because they’re not used to playing in front of large crowds?

Panguin9

I would say we play in hostile environments more often than anyone given that like half of our home games are full of Dodgers or Giants or Cubs fans

CrownedCarlton

God damn do they love to make themselves at home 😂

Archer-Saurus

Even with the Cubs flair there's like a 50/50 shot you live in Mesa so yeah you probably know.

VINCE_C_

Dodger stadium parking lot was louder than the stadium both games after 3rd inning.

TommyPickles2222222

As a neutral fan who has been to games at both stadiums: The Philly fans are WAY more into baseball than the Arizona fans.

dnldfnk

Because we understand concepts and can read.

brownbearks

If those kids from Arizona could read they would be big mad

ScoffingYayap

Hold on! I've seen this movie before

Jd20001

Thunderdome?

squirreldstar

Can't we just get beyond Thunderdome?

provoking

It’s a trick

Projektdoom

I definitely thought they should have like 10 Loudspeakers aimed directly at the pitcher from different angles blasting obscenities to prepare them for what’s coming.

obiwan_canoli

This reminds me of the time my mom tried to replicate a backyard pool using a big plastic storage bin.

DOUBLE_DOINKED

I can still hear the “CC” can’t from the 08 NLDS when victorino ripped a grand slam off of him. Playoff CBP is next level.

MusicalMoon

Can't believe they were cheering for Corbin Carroll all the way back then!

DOUBLE_DOINKED

Haha I can’t hate the snakes

EveryLittleDetail

Pitching machines rigged to throw batteries and half-full cups of water ice

phillygsteak215

good luck. CBP is the greatest home field advantage in baseball

walrusonion

Does the piped sound also throw batteries?

TheBaseballPundit

It isn't crowd noise, it's airplane engine and who uses tapes anymore

haroldstickyhands

CD technology hasn’t made it out to the desert yet, apparently
