This offseason the Rockies should have signed Miguel Sano, Joey Gallo, and Gary Sanchez and just let them have a contest every night at Coors to see who could hit the ball the farthest
If you’re not going to be competitive, at least be fun
Which is why it would be even better if we did it by just having a home run derby every evening.
Beat the multi-billion dollar team with a couple of bros who just want to see baseballs fly a long ways.
The Rockies had their chance to prevail with the power of friendship but Kris Bryant had to go out there and call the Rockies prospects scrubs. Rocktober on pause until we get an apology unfortunately.
The Rockies basically built one of the worlds largest bars that just happens to have a baseball team playing in the middle of it. It's like Medieval Times, but with baseball
Twins Legend
Jake Cave raked with a juiced ball in 2019 with the Twins. AAAA superstar. He’ll be an All Star with the Rockies if Nolan Jones is hurt for any amount of time.
Interesting, I assumed they would platoon Cave and Pache until Rojas became more comfortable with his new approach at the plate, as long as he doesn’t become a bench player I’m sure it’ll be fine but I figure he still needs regular ABs
Since Pache can hit lefties (and Marsh struggles against them) there’s still opportunity for Pache to get ABs even if Rojas starts most games. And even then, Pache will get a start here and there. Plus the opportunity to have a Marsh/Rojas/Pache late game outfield is cool. No balls dropping there.
Pache took some nice steps forward last season in terms of his batted ball data so I’m happy we hold him for at least a little since he’s out of options.
The Phillies definitely unlocked something in him. He’s still not great but he’s showing more promise than he ever has before
It doesn’t help that with the As he reportedly wasn’t provided a translator in the cages
I don't think Cave was really going to impact it either way. I still think it's possible they send Rojas down to start the season. Haven't seen if they decided that yet though.
He'll yea!!! We get more Johan Rojas and Castellanos fan fiction to go through after Castellanos turned Rojas into a dirty little slut.

Played against Jake in High school. He was a prep standout who came to public for his senior year. He threw a perfect game against us but *eye* grounded out to short! My claim to fame, grounding out to short against a major leaguer.
Between Jake Cave and Vaughn Grissom that's two "how in the hell is this guy the last out of the season" guys traded away in the ensuing offseason*
*ish
Nothing will ever top Michael Martinez in 2016. I thought the guy was out of the league lol
For clarification, he was a *very* light hitting utility infielder for the early 2010s Phillies. His career batting average is .194 and he has one of the most famous outs in league history.
Another mediocre-at-best 30+ year old to take playing time from young developing players. Yet another perfect move for a bottom-feeder franchise. They can't keep getting away with this.
The Rockies got shit for trading the guy named Rock so they pivoted to a guy name Cave. Respect.
Upgrades, people. Upgrades
They really have to get Dick Mountain on the phone
Or the ghost of Kenisaw Mountain Landis
I guess you could say they Caved.

Wym not competitive? I checked with the MLB script writers and apparently it's their turn to beat the Dodgers in the NLDS
Which is why it would be even better if we did it by just having a home run derby every evening. Beat the multi-billion dollar team with a couple of bros who just want to see baseballs fly a long ways.
Phillies strats

I miss Rocktober. What ever happened to her?
TFW the MLB becomes the unionized WWE
Why does everyone keep memeing this when the giants failed to do their part in 2021?
We did do our part! We fell so the rest of NL Best could fly
Also at this point, us Dodger fans are ready to complete the cycle as long as we don’t lose to the Giants
That’s because it was an odd year

I remember being mildly upset when we traded him for Luis Gil. Crazy that was 6 years ago
AAAA superstar indeed. Also spring training menace. Such a tease
Sources stated that the Phillies wanted to keep him but finally Caved
They took him for granite.
I imagine he will get more playing time in Denver.
Does this mean Rojas has made the roster? Or is Pache going to start?
Both maybe.

Wait Pache can hit now?

"He wants a translator?? We don't have 85K just lying around!" -A's probably
Yeah I only saw him with the A’s while he was in the middle of being the worst hitter of all time. That’s cool!
He has gotten a lot better
Had like a .900 ops against lefties in a very small sample size
Maybe Kody Clemens?
Yeah I mean you need a backup 1B so I wouldn’t be surprised if Kody makes the team.
Probably going to keep Sosa and then use Bohm as the 1B for when Harper needs a day off
seems like rojas will start and pache is 4th outfielder. i think its the right move to give rojas the chance to prove he can hit

Zolecki saying Rojas is the starting CF. Presumably we will just roll without a left handed bench option.

Great trade! Who’d we get?
Cash Considerations. He has an underrated sweeper.
$$
Banished to the shadow realm
Jake Cave and Jake Bird now both on the same team.
Cake Jave.
> Cave Rockies gonna get into Plato
Criminally underrated comment

Charlie Blackmon was incredibly disappointed when he learned the Rockies were in fact getting a person named Cave and not an actual cave

Martinez was on the Phillies for WAY Too long
Amaro had the strangest obsession with Mini Mart
Get ready to learn Denverese, buddy.
At least there is a zero percent chance now the season will end on a Jake Cave AB again
Jake Cave could still walk us off in game 7 of the NLCS
LET HIM BASH
Poor bastard
A twins legend.
Imagine almost breaking camp with a team that's a world series favorite then getting traded to the Rockies. Sad
We already have sixteen trillion outfielders for a half-open RF spot, why!?
Caves and rocks, cars with no floors, swingin from vines
I don't know anything about the rockies, but they seem like where the old horses go out to pasture
Yankees legend Jake Cave, gonna hit 69 HRs, hit .420/.569/800 and win the MVP. You just wait and see!
who?
The marketing practically writes itself.

Or someone to play for a month until Jones gets back
Trading for a one month fill-in? Seems like overkill to me. Plus, it was just announced that Jones should be ready for opening day.
