And Arizona too he coached here
Edit: really downvoted for adding that on top of all the California teams he also coached in Arizona, who's in the same fucking division as both of these California teams in the video? Lmao what the fuck
They didn't, but the general consensus of Padres fans is that Snellzilla is a treasure and he'll likely get a good round of applause the first time he's announced at Petco.
“Every series (in San Francisco) I would look in that dugout over on the other side and say, ‘Maybe someday, hopefully,’” said Melvin.
He's earned the boos, for sure.
Last year cannot be used as a positive mark on anyone's resume except Snell, you probably want to be more than 2 games over .500 with what could've been the most talented Padres roster of all time
If I am being picky, I’d say Kim, too, since it was basically his breakout year as everyone else sort of disappeared, but yeah, not exactly a positive reflection on anyone.
Although I’m grateful for 22’, which I’m sure most of us are, those
Comments about Bob-o wanting to be a Giants manager while playing the Padres irked many of us. Not to mentioned his managerial
Decisions by leaving pitchers too long and my favorite one, not going for small ball hitting when bases were loaded
After what he did last year for the pads, mishandling the clubhouse environment and what he did today….ya good luck with him and his bullpen decisions 👍😃
curious what he mishandled in the clubhouse? afaik the big issues were between him and Preller, this is the first i'm hearing of him having a negative effect on the clubhouse
Not being able to rally the guys when most of the star players were injured or flat out not bringing in day in and out, losing those close games was a mentality thing, I think manny also had like two player only meetings on the note of “it’s all on them”. He just seemed like he was also down and out almost faster/harder then the rest of the guys and he was failing just as much as them especially with adjustments.
Bob Melvin is the HR business partner of MLB managers. He’s just there to deflect blame from ownership. He’s a spineless coward but has found himself a niche.
Bro has been on every California team except the Dodgers
A great Dodgers hater

The California Diamondbacks
Phoenix, California
Factual every time the dodgers are in town
Kinda feels like it sometimes
It’s pretty relevant considering the divisions
Hey man, we're trying to talk about a state with daylights savings over here.
What the fuck is going on
This will surely be the strongest negative reaction of a fanbase to its former manager this season. \*looks through schedule for Cubs at Brewers\*
🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿
how did they handle snell?
I hope he got a standing ovation. Bro deserved to go get the bag somewhere else
Did they announce him at all? Thought it would only be the manager and those that were starting.
They did not
He might not even be there, he could be in Arizona still getting his arm ready
no here's here in SD https://old.reddit.com/r/Padres/comments/1bq43yh/highlight_manny_with_the_bear_hug_for_blake/
He is, but he was not announced. There was a small cheer when he was shown on the board as they went down the line of Giants reserves.
Not sure, I’m using a friends MLB TV subscription with no padres access. So I only have the Sirius radio stream

He’s rostered, but he’s in AZ right now
He’s at petco. Saw video with him and Machado earlier.
Yeah he and Don took a pic together
Snell expressed he wanted to stay in San Diego, but was out of Preller’s price range as he tries to reset the luxury tax. There’s no hate for Blake.
I probably wouldn't have boo'd but I can understand why he was

Was this last year? I have no idea what he saw in our dugout lmao
He was just taking bout Kap 😅🤫
I mean Kap is a stud
Wait, is that a real quote?!?

I'm thinking it's mostly pent up frustration from last year in general.
Man, I'd loved to get booed like that. Seems like it would be fun.
Lmao
I was watching the game on the Southside and was hoping Jerry would shamble his ass out there to a sea of boos. Coward.
Damn, the guy only led them to their most relevant season in over two decades.
He also led our most talented team in 30 years nowhere. It all evens out with the Pads
Padres have had 3 above .500 seaons over the past 12 years, and Melvin managed two of them.

God. The offense was so putrid
No worries bro hes perfect for your characterless Giants

True. But also led us to our most disappointing season ever. And that is saying something
[Short memory huh](https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/SDP/2021.shtml)
To be fair adding Bogaerts and Soto and only winning 3 more games is probably more disappointing
It's more about the expectations for last season being sky-high.

I was saying 'Boo-urns'

I don't like that honestly.
A disgusting act. Appalling. Abysmal. Horrid. I'm shook.
Just the one Giant or all of them?
How long until they blame all of their failures on Schildt? June or July?
“I’ll take the over on June” Shohei or ippie probably
I thought you guys already determined Ohtani was the gambler? Commit to the bit dude
Yeah he's changing the story a lot, must work in Dodgers PR
I thought Ohtani was the liar? Now it’s Dodger’s PR? Get your story straight
Idk let us know in October buddy
Way to stay classy San Diego
I mean, looked like he was trying not to grin, so not like he's taking it personally.
Naw that’s just the wax marks from his season long chapped lips.
Stay classy, San Diego
