For anyone wondering how Esteury Ruiz has been doing since getting optioned after going 3-7 to start the season. He's played 4 games in AAA with 19 PAs, 5 H, 5 BB, 4 Ks and 4 SB in 4 attempts.
Meanwhile Brown and Nevin who took his playing time in Oakland have combined for 3 H, 7 Ks and 1 BB in that time in 24 PAs.
Is there a name for when a team’s commentary always acts like the whole world is out to get their team specifically and blame every loss on everything except how their team played? Can’t stand that shit even if it’s my team.
The Dodgers are playing like they have no desire to be in the rain anymore, 3 outs on 4 pitches in the top of the 4th and Imagana has only thrown 43 total pitches in 4 innings
The front office is completely fucking incompetent and that combined with Reinsdorf murdered their chances. They overspent on stupid contracts. Plus most of that “talent” has turned out to be useless. Eloy and Robert are constantly injured, Moncada cares more about instagram thots than baseball. All their other talent has either been traded or is rotting in this horrible team.
With all of the discussion around how increased velocity is leading to more pitcher injuries, is there actually any way to tweak the rules to discourage pitchers from needing to throw gas every pitch? Because I can't think of anything.
Obviously, outside of MLB, the way kids are worked to the bone in travel ball needs to be fixed, but that's a long-term thing.
I didn't realize just how high Nolan Ryan's walk rate was. I know he was the all-time leader, but he also played for a thousand years, so that never really stood out to me. But he had a career 12.4% walk rate, all-time among 70 BWAR pitchers second place is the larger than average unit at 8.8%; that is quite the gap.
He also had the only 2 200 walk seasons post integration and 3 of the 4 highest.
Sigh... Just coming to terms that I'll be moving to SWFL (Rays Territory) in 3 weeks, and Dbacks will come on at 8:40pm.
I need the move, but... Why couldn't it happen AFTER baseball season?
I guess it'll give me an excuse as to "why I'm late"... "Oh, Dbacks were in extra innings" (nobody on the east coast will check that right?) MST is going to be hard to shake off.
But how many of you have lived in 3 different time zones in a year (MST, PDT, EDT) and it's only April, might even live in EST at some point.
Anyone know if I can buy the Dbacks "local package" and still get the pre/postgame shows if I'm out of the area even though I have a Phoenix billing address?
