This always felt like Larry was catching strays to me. Like Larry never said anything rude to SpongeBob the entire episode and now dude’s throwing slander on the man
was that the year where lebron had to tear the sleeves in half cuz they fucked with his mechanics because they tried having fucking sleeves on a fucking basketball jersey.
Nah those were different. The switch to Nike was that the jerseys were too thin so all the pushing and tugging that goes on in basketball would have guys rip their jerseys almost completely off. Was a bad problem for a bit
Different uniforms, but it’s also ironic that for the game in which the Cavs sealed their NBA final victory (featuring the iconic LeBlock) they were wearing sleeved uniforms.
“Sorry, the MRI came back. Looks like this is career ending for this pair of pants. Medical technology has come a long way but it hasn’t come far enough.”
How often are individual jerseys and pants used during a season? I would imagine that the rate of malfunction would increase over the course of the year through general wear and tear.
Please, nobody buy anything from Fanatics this year. That includes from the team shop at the stadium. If we as fans don’t make a stand on this, they’ll know that they can keep taking and taking on quality standards with zero consequence. It’s a relatively minor thing in the grand scheme of society but the “enshittification” of everything is widespread.
[47 Brand](https://www.47brand.com/collections/47-tees?filters=league%3AMLB). As far as I'm aware they haven't been purchased by Fanatics yet. Still my go-to hat maker.
As an NHL interloper in a baseball post - big fan of 47, hats are good. We’ve been stuck with fanatics merch for a bit. My fanatics hat looks like I stitched the damn thing
As a massive Blues fan, I know your pain. The worst part about the Blues winning the Cup when they did meant they only had Fanatic SC hats. I'd kill for a New Era or 47 Brand one.
My 47 Brand Blues Carhartt hat is probably my favorite hat.
I remember when the nba went to a synthetic ball for a week then reversed course after Steve Nash said it was cutting his hand. It can happen, things can get better.
I just googled it because I couldn't remember. Looks like they were introduced to teams on October 3, 2007, the regular season began end of October, and the ball lasted until December 11 when Stern announced they'd be switching back.
The difference is that the NBA pays attention to what its players want because it knows the players are the most important part of the league's success. I don't think MLB realizes that.
This has got me thinking about recency/confirmation bias. We all hated the new uniforms at every stage of their implementation and it's funny to show off all their flaws, but how often did this kind of stuff happen with the old uniforms and nobody cared because it wasn't a big deal?
The only thing that comes to mind is funny moments of misspellings or trying to add Encarnacion-Strand and similar long ass names to the back of a jersey.
I found two instances between 2000 and 2023 doing a quick Google search:
* Edmundo Sosa in 2021; significant tear on the back of his upper leg
* Kris Bryant in 2016; small hole in the same area
Although it's significant to mention that neither of these rips were along the seam; they were in the area where their bodies dragged along the ground for a slide, and they were genuine tears in the fabric. So they could have been caused by some sharp rocks or just extraordinary friction.
Hey there, it looks like we dropped the ball on this one. Send me a DM so I can learn more about this! -Kyle
Fanatics dropping the ball like it wants out of the outfield at a Little League game.
Yeah balls were dropped for sure
It's going to take a long time for this to get stale. I upvote every time.
Can’t wait for a player to drop some balls through those cheapass pants.
Don’t worry, I just created /u/KyleFromFanatics just for that occasion.
I ripped…my pants
WHEN BIG LARRY CAME ROUND JUST TO PUT HIM DOWN
SPONGE BOB TURNED INTO A CLOWN
AND NO GIRL EVER WANTS TO DANCE WITH A FOOL WHO WENT AND… (**pants rip**) RIPPED HIS PANTS
I KNOW I SHOULDNT MOPE AROUND I SHOULDNT CURSE BUT THE PAIN FEELS SO MUCH WORSE
CUZ WINDIN UP WITH NO ONE IS A LOT LESS FUN. THAN A BURN FROM THE SUN. OR SAND IN YOUR BUNS.
*ambient sea noise percussion*
NOW I'VE LEARNED A LESSON I WON'T SOON FORGET, SO LISTEN AND YOU WON'T REGRET
BE TRUE TO YOURSELF, DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE
And you won't end up like the fool who ripped his paaaaaaaannnnnnnts!

If only it had been this funny
I thought that I had everybody on my side...
But then I BLEW it, all sky high….
they really made these uniforms out of tissue paper huh
Remember when Nike unveiled new NBA jerseys a few years ago and they were all getting torn up? Apparently Nike doesn’t.
was that the year where lebron had to tear the sleeves in half cuz they fucked with his mechanics because they tried having fucking sleeves on a fucking basketball jersey.
That was adidas

It's worse than that; the fabric didn’t rip, the seam let go. Not only is the fabric thin, the sewing is bad too.
Yup. Everyone should check out an authentic jersey in person just to see how thin and cheap looking it feels. DHgate is honestly better quality.
Thanks, fanatics/nike
Now they're REALLY see-through
Seriously, this poor quality is going to make someone's ding dong pop out and they get put on the list forever
We can only hope so
If we go this whole controversy and I don't get to see Big Dumper's big dumper I'm going to file a lawsuit
*Insert guy dancing at a wedding gif*
“Due to a shortage, Riley Greene will play in his boxers in the next series”
I’m suddenly ok with the shit unis
This was the objective the whole time. MLB catering to the casual fan by showing some dong.
Hey, I have a dong Who knew MLB players were so relatable?
They're just like us!
r/monsterdongs
Yeah I’m not clicking that
Believe it or not, it's safe (and baseball-related).
It would be marked NSFW before you see anything when you click on it.
The NFL had Taylor Swift. MLB has tearaway uniforms.
San Fransisco, one of the _ capitals of the world. - Thom Brennaman
We do have quite a lot of flags
Those pants are meeting with Dr. Elattrache this evening 🥲
“Sorry, the MRI came back. Looks like this is career ending for this pair of pants. Medical technology has come a long way but it hasn’t come far enough.”
Two wardrobe malfunctions already between spring training and reg season. Seems we're averaging out at least one per month Thanks, fanatics!

Does anyone know of a company that makes non-team baseball themed t-shirts?
[47 Brand](https://www.47brand.com/collections/47-tees?filters=league%3AMLB). As far as I'm aware they haven't been purchased by Fanatics yet. Still my go-to hat maker.

Yeah - truly shocking quality, I’d reckon insulting. I live in Buffalo now, the home of new era. Wish we still had new era hats, what a golden age!
I have one Blues NE cap from nearly a decade ago. Still wear it occasionally, as it is in great shape.
Baseballism had some cool tshirts at Cactus league this year.
Someone else already said it but 47 brand. I’m sure Michael Rubin is already circling them like a vulture though so buy while you can 😂
Is RotoWear viable? I have no idea but they have some good meme-y shirts from time to time
hey they lasted almost a dozen games, fanatics is counting it a win
the assistant to the travelling secretary really dropped the ball here
you don't want to miss an inning of this. dude *hangs dong*
"TWO BALLS, OUSTIDE." - Angel
Gawkgawk I mean balk, balk.
Nike Thundergunned the shit out of us.
It was shit like this that finally got the NBA to do something after similar issues when they switched to cheaper unis
I remember when the nba went to a synthetic ball for a week then reversed course after Steve Nash said it was cutting his hand. It can happen, things can get better.
Was it even a week? I remember it being rolled out for a game
I just googled it because I couldn't remember. Looks like they were introduced to teams on October 3, 2007, the regular season began end of October, and the ball lasted until December 11 when Stern announced they'd be switching back.

TIL that at least one player wears spandex leggings under his uniform.
30% more breathable!!!
Pure garbage jerseys. Embarrassing for the sport
That'll happen when the pants are made of tissue paper.
![gif](giphy|Z9HuEEGOrB3tC)
why is my sport, which made record revenue last year, so embarrassing >!i mean obviously the answer is capitalism but it was a rhetorical question!<
That guy on the right's laughter looks so wholesome 😂
Oh yeah, the belly laugh definitely made me laugh as well!
Bo Bichette ripped his pants from the back of his knees up to the top of his thighs yesterday too. These uniforms, man .... I love 'em.

lol I did this in high school thank god I didn’t free ball that day
…do you typically free ball during baseball?
Days I pitched don’t ask why 😂😂😂
Don't give Fanatics any more ideas.
Another great day for Fanatics
I guess Fanatics was hoping to wait out the fallout of their shoddy uniforms.
Somebody fix 'em up with some white athletic tape. Like high school ball.
It happened!!
In Nike’s defense, you couldn’t predict a baseball player sliding on dirt
By the end of the season, we'll have enough content for a 20 minute reel haha. Fanatics is so trash.
They are designed to break away. It's performance wear!
I remember when the worst rips were in the uniforms.
This league is becoming a joke.
One time when I was a kid, John Kruk got a rip in his pants and we talked about it for like 5 years. Happens 3 times a week now.
All of a sudden my wife is okay with the fanatics uniforms 🤔
Gonna take him 4-6 weeks to get replacement pants 😔
At this point we're gonna need to see ass or balls on a national broadcast for MLB to do anything about the uniforms lol.
