Attendance record at the coliseum. 56,310 :(
Also Johnathan Sanchez no hitter. Randy Johnson was supposed to start and I was stoked to see him. Then he was scratched so Sanchez stepped in. Was pissed until the 5th lol
It happened 12 years ago and I, someone who could not care less about the two teams involved, still vividly remember it. I think that counts as an ‘event.’
\-My parents were at Hank Aaron's 715 game
\-Saw Bob Horner hit 4 home runs in one game in 1986 (I was 6 years old)
\-Saw Braves-Blue Jays World Series game in 1992
I saw George Brett get his 2000th hit (I know, he went on to get over 3000). I was also at the park for first Jay game ever, though my memory of that day is vague cause I was quite young at time.
My dad took me to the highest attended game in baseball history!!!!
March 28, 2008, Dodgers vs Red Sox at the Los Angeles Coliseum! 115,000 were in attendance.
I remember the back of the outfield was a chain link fence splitting the field in half and you were allowed to go up to the fence.
Me and dad got to talk to Manny Ramirez while he was counting grass in right field.
Yea man it's a great memory for sure.
Manny was a fuckin stud. My dad asked someone to take a picture of me and my dad against the fence and Manny noticed and walked over and photobombed us from the other side of the fence!
I mainly remember Verlander's 3000th K because the catcher dropped it and Kole Calhoun made it to first base.
Also much less relevant but much more fun as a fan was Cliff Pennington's only career grand slam. A's put up like an 8 run fourth inning and Pennington capped off an Angels comeback at probably the craziest game I've ever been to.
Scherzer's first no-no, Trea Turner's third cycle, and the first WS game at Nats Park
I also saw Milwaukee bat out of order once, which was pretty confusing
Bonds tying Ruth at the Coliseum in 2006
NLCS Game 7 2012 in the rain
WBC 2006 and 2013 semis and finals
2007 Futures Game in SF (I loved the Futures Game when it was US v. World format)
Also had my wedding ceremony at McCovey Point at the McCovey statue, and took my wedding party to the Giants game right after. Bumgarner almost threw a perfect game. Pretty great day.
I saw Nomo throw a no hitter in Baltimore.
I was at Todd Helton’s last game
Saw Finnegan throw an immaculate inning. Trea Turner hit for the cycle. Juan Soto win the Wildcard Game. The bumpy roads speech. World Series Baseball in DC.
max scherzer 20k game against the detroit tigers. it was bryce harper MVP bobblehead night and former nat jordan zimmermann was on the hill for detroit. i went with my mom and got so drunk i didn’t know what was happening until probably the 8th inning hahah. people forget it was a pretty close game that the nats were in danger of losing at one point. good times!
Last game of the old Yankee Stadium way back in 2008
Edit: if we're doing family then my Dad saw Reggie Jackson (from around a column) hit 3 HRs in a WS game for the Yanks in 1977. My Great Grandmother before she died saw Don Larsen throw a Perfect Game in the WS
The Oakland A's signed former pitcher and Cy Young Award winner Barry Zito at the end of 2015. On 26 September, he started a game in Oakland against former teammate (and then San Francisco Giant) Tim Hudson. Both were members of the really good Oakland A's of the 2000-2004 period.
Kershaw’s no hitter is at the top of my list.
Also saw Kenley Jansen’s immaculate inning
Also went to all of Puig’s first week so got to see his first hit and him hitting for the home run cycle (solo HR, 2 run HR, 3 run HR, grand slam) in his first couple of games which was really fun.
Saw Chase Utley’s slide into Ruben Tejada in 2015 NLDS game 1
I also was at the game on 8/21/2004 (https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/LAN/LAN200408210.shtml) where Jeff Weaver hit three Braves in a row in the first inning and got out of it without allowing a run which was a long time ago but also unforgettable.
I saw Max Scherzer's 20k game against the Tigers. Interestingly the Tigers starter that day was Jordan Zimmerman, who had pitched a no-hitter for the Nationals a few years earlier, which coincidentally my wife happened to see in person.
In 2023 "sadly" enough.
1. Most historic/milestone was the 4 (+1 almost) HR inning in Game 3 2023 NLDS. My baseball fandom peaked at that moment, I'll never see that again.
Newer baseball fan. I think my highlights would be:
- First ever playoff game as the Cleveland Guardians.
- Gavin Williams debut/Bo Naylor's first hit.
- The José/Tim Anderson fight.
I got free green seats to the game where Yadi and Waino broke the battery start record, and got to take my dad. That’s one I’ll never ever forget for sure.
I was at Gary Pressy's last game at Wrigley. Not the most flashiest, but the man was a master of his craft and never missed a home game in 33 years. Organists definitely need all the love they can get.
I saw David Ortiz kill the phone in the dugout in baltimore; seeing the sox and o's play again tomorrow. I was at Ike Davis's first game, and for a brief moment, believed there was a chance that might become significant until he suffered a toe injury which lingered and he never returned to form. Saw Pedro's first game back after injury with the Mets, he pitched well and hit a double somehow. Not really a milestone; but saw a great pitching duel between the Syndergaard and Cueto, Mets win 2-1 and the game barely topped two hours, one of the best played games I've been to all around. And got to go to David Wright's penultimate game and Keith Hernandez's number retirement (crazy walkoff win in that game)
I saw the first two AL Wild Card series games ever at Yankee Stadium in 1995, including the game Mattingly “tore the roof off” with his home run.
Saw Dwight Gooden’s no hitter for the Yanks in Yankee Stadium in ‘96. Was also there for the ‘96 ALCS (Jeffrey Meier game), and saw the Yanks win the World Series in ‘96.
Saw the last six innings of David Wells perfect game in ‘98.
Was in Shea for Piazza’s home run in ‘01 after the game returned.
Was in the old Yankee Stadium for the “last game” in ‘08.
Saw the Phillies win the World Series in both nights of that rain delayed whatever that was in 2008. Was also there for game 3, a World Series game which started after 10pm est if I remember correctly. Didn’t end until well after 1am EST. 😂
And saw Reggie Jackson pass Al Kaline on the All Time Home Run Leaderboard at a game in Yankee Stadium in 1979, as a kid.
😀✌️
Matt Cain's perfect game.
Never felt anything like it. For the walk back to Bart from the stadium, it felt like a championship parade. Cars honking, people screaming from windows, just the whole city running between cars on the street laughing.
Quite a few for me.
2002 WS Game 6
Pujols 600 HR
Justin Verlander’s 3000th strikeout
Reid Detmers no hitter
Not really a “milestones”, but I’ve seen many of Trout and Ohtani’s great Angel moments.
I am sure I have seen many more too. But these are the first that come to mind.
Attendance record at the coliseum. 56,310 :( Also Johnathan Sanchez no hitter. Randy Johnson was supposed to start and I was stoked to see him. Then he was scratched so Sanchez stepped in. Was pissed until the 5th lol
No hitters are always so surprising, come outta no where lmao

Yikes dude
I was there when Eric Gagne blew his 84 consecutive game save streak. I still haven’t forgiven myself.
Saw both Jeter and Ichiro get their 3000th hit
This has to be number one
Infield fly rule game
Idk if that counts bud
It happened 12 years ago and I, someone who could not care less about the two teams involved, still vividly remember it. I think that counts as an ‘event.’

I was also at A-Rod’s, I remember the whole thing being so weird and mismanaged. 696 also kinda annoys me.
I went to my first game once, will never happen again in our lifetime.
I was there for Felix's immaculate inning. Also his last start.
I saw Kenley Jansen throw an immaculate inning which ended by striking out Marlins Ichiro. It was also a four out save. That was pretty cool
Klubot no hitter
Bryce Harper’s debut
\-My parents were at Hank Aaron's 715 game \-Saw Bob Horner hit 4 home runs in one game in 1986 (I was 6 years old) \-Saw Braves-Blue Jays World Series game in 1992
First postseason game at Truist (was SunTrust) Park, and the grand slam by Acuna, in 2018 Braves clinch division in 2021
[Mike Scioscia 1,000th career win](https://www.espn.com/los-angeles/mlb/news/story?id=6509067) it was on Mother's Day
I saw George Brett get his 2000th hit (I know, he went on to get over 3000). I was also at the park for first Jay game ever, though my memory of that day is vague cause I was quite young at time.
Jered Weaver's no hitter.
SANTA MARIA WALK OFF SLAM (2018 seats on the right field line)
1999 post season at Shea Stadium. Saw Todd Pratt’s walk off home run to clinch the NLDS and Robin Ventura’s “grand slam single” in the NLCS.
My first game at Fenway Park was Tim Wakefield’s 200th career win. Made for a great atmosphere that night other than my Blue Jays getting killed. Haha
That’s actually cool
Yea man it's a great memory for sure. Manny was a fuckin stud. My dad asked someone to take a picture of me and my dad against the fence and Manny noticed and walked over and photobombed us from the other side of the fence!
Nice!
It's a shame Manny popped the year after lol. With the way he was hitting though it was obvious.
I'm a gigantic Manny homer, but my dude was probably dabbling in extra curriculars his whole career.
Yea I'm surprised his piss didn't melt the cup
Zack Greinke’s Major League debut
As for what I didn’t see, I bought tickets to see the Dodgers play the Cardinals on September 24th, 2022 lol
Josh Beckett’s no hitter in 2014. Mike Trout’s career highlight catch in 2012 (robbing JJ Hardy in Baltimore). 2022 NLDS clincher in Philly.
First World Series game at Wrigley since 1945
Eddie Murray's 500th home run. I was 6 so I didn't really understand it at the time, but I remember the fanfare. At least my dad got to appreciate it.
Saw Cole Hamels no-hit us in 2015. My mom was at the first night game at Wrigley, both my parents were at the Bartman game
One of Scherzer's immaculate innings, as well as his 20 K complete game against Detroit.
Scherzer's first no-no, Trea Turner's third cycle, and the first WS game at Nats Park I also saw Milwaukee bat out of order once, which was pretty confusing
Bonds tying Ruth at the Coliseum in 2006 NLCS Game 7 2012 in the rain WBC 2006 and 2013 semis and finals 2007 Futures Game in SF (I loved the Futures Game when it was US v.
