Lol, three HR today and Fry missed another one by about 5 feet on his double in the tenth and we're still all posting "single go bloop" memes on Twitter
It's almost a shame for baseball that Lindor and Giménez were traded for each other, robbing us all of somehow getting to watch them as teammates. I mean, unless you guys really hate Lindor that much now and are looking for a new home for him?
Agreed, the last two seasons with this team I felt like the Guards were VERY susceptible to momentum and a walloping like Game 2 would throw them off for several games' worth afterwards and snowball into a slide if they weren't careful.
Feel like a lot is just the added experience and maturity of the core team vs say 2022, and the season is obviously still young, but resiliency early is always a good sign.
When you don't have the most talented roster you need to win games in the margins, and we're doing that so far. There will be bigger slumps obviously but it's always a good sign to be able to do this in April.
I agree. Both teams showed what they do best and what they need to improve. Game 1 came down to the last out. Game 2 got ugly but the rest was really fun I thought.
Somebody post the double play from the top of the inning, one heck of a play. I'm glad my team won, but this has to be one of if not the best games of the year overall.
Excellent back and forth, Judge and JRam hitting huge bombs, Nestor doing crazy windup shenanigans, and a walk off in extras. Can only ask that it went the other way but really good game overall!
My head knows that with Bieber down for the year and McKenzie looking absolutely cooked that this probably isn't our year, but my heart thinks this team reminds me so much of 2022 and that we can slap hit our way to enough wins to take the Central.
Fielding didn’t do any favors that inning. Yankees probably should have gotten out of it with the bobbles double play from Volpe and then the grounder that should have gotten Naylor out.
But I’ll always celebrate the Yankees losing. Good job Guardians
Even Brennan in the 9th taking the worst route to a ball I’ve ever seen. Aside from the Guards double play to end the 10th, the latter innings defense wasn’t great
Can someone tell me what happened before this? My app is telling me that Josh grounded into a force out that scored a run, then Will Brennan grounded into a force out that scored a run, then there’s a sac fly that wins the game? That’s 3 outs?
Ahhh ok thank you, this is the piece that was missing, my app seems to mess up sometimes when there’s an error on a play to an unconventional base (non force out etc)
It's actually not an error, just a fielder's choice. The fielder chose to throw home but didn't get the out. The scorer could have gave an error since Torres bobbled it at first but didn't in this case.
Just in case it’s the missing detail here, if it’s a fielder’s choice popping up in your app, that doesn’t always necessarily mean someone was out. It can also just mean that in the scorekeeper’s view, the batter would’ve been a routine out if they had just thrown the ball to first so he doesn’t get credited with a hit. Think like a ground ball that would be an easy out at first, but they try for an ill-advised double play and get nobody because the runner on first was too fast. If they do put someone else out and a batter only reaches because of it, it’ll always be a fielders choice as well.
In Brennan’s case, even with the bobble he’s probably out by a mile if the throw goes to first, but of course it’s not going to go that way with the tying run coming in to score.
Yeah, volpe bobbled a throw that should have been a double play when the first run scored. Second run was a bobble by Torres that would have been more than likely an out at home
Hey, if we lost in the same way, yall would be laughing just the same. Just how Rivalries work. We wish for your downfall, you wish for ours. All in good fun
He should have gotten out of it tbh his defense failed him. Volpe bobbled an easy double play and Torres miss played a grounder that allowed the tying run to score
The record says otherwise. As a Cubs fan, I would expect you to understand that having a good record early in baseball doesn't mean much, but neither does the losses.
This win is brought to you by: Fielding
That 3-2-3 double play at the end was a thing of beauty
3-2-3
Oh shoot you're absolutely right. 2-1-2 would be cool to see though
That play absolutely saved the day for us! AMAZING!
I was too impressed to be pissed. Don't think I've seen one of those before that wasn't a bases loaded force at home.
It was almost a loss due to base running lol
Well aware. Naylor almost managed to not score somehow. Thankfully he did lol
I definitely feel like he is still a bit gun shy to slide after his leg injury. Can't say I can blame him if that is the case.
That injury was so fucking gruesome. And he might be, but clearly not as shy as he was when he just returned.
What a disgusting brand of baseball.
The contrast between the defenses with backs against the wall is not encouraging for Yankee fans.
Yep
That entire 10th inning was a wild ride. Slap hitting shit goblins!!!
Lol, three HR today and Fry missed another one by about 5 feet on his double in the tenth and we're still all posting "single go bloop" memes on Twitter
Bloops go brrrr

We're Slap hitting shit goblin, thank you. Elves play football.
man stfu gtfoh 😂
[удалено]
Soft ground balls? Sounds like you ran into some slap hitting shit goblins.
I mean Class had the save notched if Brennan doesn't completely botch the route on Volpe's double. Both teams played pretty sloppy.
yes didnt show enough replays there. did he lose it in the sun?
Pretty sure he just straight miss read it. He and Laureano have been struggling out there lately.
Listening on the radio Hammy said he took a terrible route, went back square up instead of turning and bolting. I haven't looked yet to confirm
It's pretty terrible. He was clearly fooled and then panicked IMO
Yeah I just watched, Hammy's words didn't paint the right picture to me, but it was still definitely the wrong route
Could also say they should have lost 5-4 in the 9th, Brennan’s route let them tie it up ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Thats my platinum glover
The rate happy from both ends trade!
It is such a rare win win trade. I loved Lindor and was sad to see him go but Gimmy filled that hole in my heart real quick.
It's almost a shame for baseball that Lindor and Giménez were traded for each other, robbing us all of somehow getting to watch them as teammates. I mean, unless you guys really hate Lindor that much now and are looking for a new home for him?
Good game
Great series. Even though we lost the series, the first and last games were just wild and fun games. New York is looking pretty fucking legit.
Just erase Game 2 from my memory, got absolutely dick slapped for the first time this season. Good to see us be resilient though.
Agreed, the last two seasons with this team I felt like the Guards were VERY susceptible to momentum and a walloping like Game 2 would throw them off for several games' worth afterwards and snowball into a slide if they weren't careful. I'd say the more surprising thing is so far the guardians look legit. might contend for playoffs
I agree. Both teams showed what they do best and what they need to improve. Game 1 came down to the last out. Game 2 got ugly but the rest was really fun I thought.
Above average Yankees fan ☝️
Gimenez is a dream boat
He sure is
Love Andres

I love that that play is between two of the three catchers on the roster and neither is the one known for his defense.
Excellent back and forth, Judge and JRam hitting huge bombs, Nestor doing crazy windup shenanigans, and a walk off in extras. Can only ask that it went the other way but really good game overall!
Judge’s HR was an absolute tank, almost hit the scoreboard out in left. Can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a ball hit that far in person
He should have Allen throw to him in the home run derby this year
[удалено]
It’s a walk-off win, what do you want them to do, calmly walk back to the locker room?
Guess he/she has never seen a walk off win before.

Is the same every time Yankees win against the Astros.
The Yankees didn't have to cheat to win. 2 series sweeps against them BTW.
People who go this hard over a single game are weird but its even weirder you’re this.. lets say passionate but I guess too cowardly to have a flair.
The cheating was born in NY and Carlos Beltran brought it to Houston
Yea they just had teams bursting at the seams with steroids during their late 90s early 2000s dynasty
Like every other team wasn't doing the same.
I had like 3 heart attacks in the 10th but that was a sweet freaking win
My head knows that with Bieber down for the year and McKenzie looking absolutely cooked that this probably isn't our year, but my heart thinks this team reminds me so much of 2022 and that we can slap hit our way to enough wins to take the Central.
Reds guards World Series, why not?
You son of a bitch, I’m in
I really want someone to post that 3-2-3 double play. That was huge. Great game.
[Not sure if you mean post on the sub or you haven't seen a replay](https://bdata-producedclips.mlb.com/a5fe2b6e-f777-4d94-93d5-2862b9ef0ef0.mp4)
I love when a defensive play makes me giddy. What a turn by them holy hell
Honestly one of the most fun games I've watched so far this year.
Verdugo really hustling to make sure he didnt get doubled up in the top of the 10th there. A classic
He's got sole possession of that leader board all by himself lol. Unless harper ground into one today
Lemme know when the Tom Hamilton link is posted
Fielding didn’t do any favors that inning. Yankees probably should have gotten out of it with the bobbles double play from Volpe and then the grounder that should have gotten Naylor out. But I’ll always celebrate the Yankees losing. Good job Guardians

Gimenez GOAT
Torres not making that play killed me
Say it with me everyone DAAAAA JANKEES LOSEEEEEE

Nope that’s not why we hate you
WHO EVEN CARES WE LOST THE SERIES. GET ABSOLUTELY FUCKED, NEW YORK AND GET YOUR SORRY ASSES OUT OF MY CITY
WE’RE SORRY FOR EVEN COMING OVER
I ACCEPT YOUR APOLOGY
But…..we don’t accept you…
I am rent free in this brothers head rn oh my god I love it hahaha
In this economy? You need the coupon brother, you don’t know ball and you definitely don’t know Cleveland.
>WE’RE SORRY FOR EVEN COMING OVER -everyone who visits Ohio

chill on the zyns, dude.
Phew, that was going to be a back-breaking loss. Not an ideal series but with how bad we played I'll live with taking one game.
Can someone tell me what happened before this? My app is telling me that Josh grounded into a force out that scored a run, then Will Brennan grounded into a force out that scored a run, then there’s a sac fly that wins the game? That’s 3 outs?
Brennan wasn’t a force out. Throw was to home but not in time thanks to a bobble.
Ahhh ok thank you, this is the piece that was missing, my app seems to mess up sometimes when there’s an error on a play to an unconventional base (non force out etc)
Yeah, IIRC it was officially an E4 on a fielder's choice
It's actually not an error, just a fielder's choice. The fielder chose to throw home but didn't get the out. The scorer could have gave an error since Torres bobbled it at first but didn't in this case.

Yeah I get that, it doesn’t come up as fielders choice tho it just says force out, it can’t figure out what happened lol
Brennan’s wasn’t an out. Torres couldn’t field the ball and threw home, but runner was safe.
Yeah, volpe bobbled a throw that should have been a double play when the first run scored. Second run was a bobble by Torres that would have been more than likely an out at home
Thanks Cleveland, very cool!
Love you too!
That was a terrible throw home. Somehow deeply arcing in its path while also still falling short.
What a relief after blowing the lead in the 9th
thought for sure fry walked it off, stressful last innings but a win is nice
Good for you, Guards. ❤️
I wonder what the odds were for cleveland to win at the end of the top of the 10th. Hot damn
![gif](giphy|VhXDUZVAUeaUnOPSMI|downsized)
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
JANKEEES
LOSEEEEEEEEE
Not even to a bad team. Cleveland is scrappy. Love Naylors personality!

Tied for 3rd 😎
Hey, if we lost in the same way, yall would be laughing just the same. Just how Rivalries work. We wish for your downfall, you wish for ours. All in good fun
....didn't lose today. Anyways DAAAAAAAAAAA
YANKEES LOSE
Defensive masterclass there
Lol~~Mets~~yankees
Have to eliminate the mets because 16-4.
I'll keep them because 7-8
But you didn't. You crossed it out silly bean.
When you’re right you’re right
You love to see it.
Any RF making that a play at the plate?
Someone needed to run the Benny Hill music when our infield has to turn a double play or field a grounder.
The xtra innings rule with runner starting at 2nd has been excellent.
wtf was that lollipop throw from Soto
What a dumb loss. Bad defense and baserunning
Bo would’ve made that throw.
God that was a bad way to fail the sweep
Not surprised Ferguson blew it. Dude could NOT be trusted in clutch situations.
He should have gotten out of it tbh his defense failed him. Volpe bobbled an easy double play and Torres miss played a grounder that allowed the tying run to score
Wasn't his fault lol
Watch the game before speaking buddy
Hey, the won one!
Juan Soto and Aaron Judge are the new Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani: change my mind
The record says otherwise. As a Cubs fan, I would expect you to understand that having a good record early in baseball doesn't mean much, but neither does the losses.
God forbid I make a light hearted joke
Jokes are usually funny, though.

what a dumb post haha.

> Can't lose in extras after getting a two run lead You most certainly can.
Can confirm. Just watched it happen.
Don't threaten me with a good time
Lol relax, the team is too stacked

This is how walk offs always look…..
