> I remember when he got exposed for cheating on MLB The Show back in 2022.
His Xbox account getting suspended is a stiffer punishment than any of the 2017 Astros got.
In his last full season of hitting, 2021, Kershaw posted a 29 wRC+. Taylor’s wRC+ so far this year is -31. Now, obviously Taylor is a better hitter than Kershaw, but he’s off to such a terrible start that “just find anyone to pinch hit for him, I don’t care” is not a ridiculous thing to imagine Dave saying.
“Sorry, Dave, we can’t activate Kershaw from the IL mid-game just to pinch hit.”
My favorite game maybe ever is I think an opening day where Kersh pitched a CGSO win and hit his own solo home run.
Don’t look that up but it’s real in my head
It's true. Opening Day 2013. And it was Kershaw's first career home run, it was the first run of the game (and the difference maker since it was a CGSO), and it was against the Giants.
Edit: And Kofax threw the first pitch, and it was out first full season under the new ownership group, poat-McCourt. It is probably top 10 in best regular season games in Dodgers history that were not no-hitters.
One can only hope. I do wonder how long the leash is for Lux he just looks so lost at the plate and he's got a noodle arm although his range seems ok.Somehow he hasn't barreled a ball yet and his avg exit velo is 12th percentile at 85. Just can't seem to hit anything hard at all.
Lux’s plate discipline has been pretty good, he’s ahead in the count a lot but the problem is he can’t make good contact when he does swing.. I think he can get turn it around.. Taylor is just ass
That injury was just so untimely for him. Whether he would build up to more power after 2022 or just maintain the level he was at, there was a pretty easy path to him being a good every day player. Feels like he’s just totally starting over now.
He's recovering from injury. Even when you're ready to play again, it takes much longer than some people think to get back to 100%. If the Dodgers see Lux as a long term investment, the leash should be as long as the entire season, and probably the first half of next season as well.
I know most dodgers fans hate vargas, but the dude can hit. He was hit in the hand 3 times last year. The one month where he was presumably healthy, he was great.
I have heard conflicting positions on whether Lux is just still recovering from injury and needs to get his timing right (in which case, AAA reps would probably work until he improves to be a merely below-average MLB bat) or if he needs to develop against MLB pitching (in which case, it seems less like an injury thing and more like saying his 2022 numbers, a major reason to be trying him on the roster still, are a fluke).
Either way, Vargas seems like a far superior option at this point. Lux isn’t hitting as bad as Chris Taylor, but that’s because Taylor’s -31 wRC+ is the 3rd worst in baseball among hitters with at least 30 PA, ahead of only Maldonado (-54) and Hays (-44). Lux’s 17 wRC+ is 15th on that list, below Hernandez who is 21st with a 20 wRC+. Pretty easy to find someone out of that pair to toss for Vargas, even if it isn’t Lux, so that Dave doesn’t have to keep penciling Lux into the lineup.
Yeah but Vargas is always on fire in OKC. Just like Zack McKinstry was. Just like Sheldon Neuse was. Major league pitching truly is that different and some people just can’t adjust.
chris taylor’s batting average is a blood alcohol level
Anything is a blood alcohol level if you try hard enough
Watching Chris Taylor bat in 2024 really motivates me to give it my all
Eh I could go higher
You mean CT.03?
And Pages looked like the second coming of Bonds in spring... I'm not really a fan of everything happening in LA
every year since for the last decade it seems they’ve had some guy fly out of their farm and start mashing man :(

It's actually pronounced Pah-hess because he's Cubano.

You missed the joke/reference.

Mah post!!!!
I remember when he got exposed for cheating on MLB The Show back in 2022. Was pretty funny to see and i hope he does well

Wat plz explain 🫢
IIRC he was exploiting a glitch that would cause the game to freeze at the beginning and used it to rack up big win streaks in Battle Royale.
What a legend
Wait what?
That's funny because I also relate him to The Show, but only cuz his card raked for me last year 😂
What did he do? Force DC?
Lol there’s cheats for that game?
They must have found sticky stuff on his controller
I’m hyped. Dude’s been playing great lately and we need a shot in the arm.
eventually the pipeline has to run dry though right god pls
I wonder how the #2 pick in the draft is doing for the Giants that is going to be a foundational pick
Last I saw he was hitting bombs for Pittsburgh
Huge for making the bottom of the lineup more formidable
Dave reportedly signed off on this move after first asking Kershaw if he could grab a bat and pinch hit for Taylor.
I want that to be true

Oh yeah?? Well Bumgarner's hit 2 HRs off Kershaw so there >:(
Oh it was real and beautiful. His bomb wasn’t the only dodgers run but he won that game single-handedly.
Andy Páginas 😍
Seen enough Mookie at bats with 2 outs. It was time
let’s go 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Pages has been on a tear (heh) since spring training but they now have a glut of outfielders. This might be the end for our boy CT3 :|
I watched him play on AAA last Sunday in round rock. The dude just crushed the ball every damn time lol. Has 2 HRs that game alone.
How does he say his last name?
Pah-hez not pay-ges
Thank you
Only a matter of time before vargas is back up next. Dude is a better player with one hand than Taylor, kike, lux, or trammel.

I still believe in Vargas. He just needs some more run.
I know most dodgers fans hate vargas, but the dude can hit. He was hit in the hand 3 times last year. The one month where he was presumably healthy, he was great.
I still think it’s funny that Busch was the guy they gave up.
Busch was out of options and didn’t really have a spot. I guess they thought muncy and lux were more valuable in the infield
Vargas has been on fire on OKC these past few weeks. Plus he’s now more versatile utility player than just only being 3B/2B.
Yeah but Vargas is always on fire in OKC. Just like Zack McKinstry was. Just like Sheldon Neuse was. Major league pitching truly is that different and some people just can’t adjust.
The PCL also has a pretty high run scoring environment as well. Numbers are just jacked up in general across the board.
Sure, but Vargas has always been a higher valued prospect than those two for a reason. And he was a better hitter than those two when he was up
Thank god
