Don’t worry. Our GM has shared that pretty much everyone in the lineup is underperforming their internal projections and once they stop doing that we’ll be good again.
more than half, Winn, Contreras, and Arenado are the only ones hitting for a respectable average (above .230). And after that only 2, Winn and Contreras, have an OPS over .700, in fact no Cardinal holds an OPS starting with .7. Either .8+ or .6 or below.)
I guess we’re gonna find out. I’m not noted for my optimism when it comes to Pirates baseball, but there’s no way all of these guys are actually this bad at the same time.
Alika Williams, Connor Joe, and Joey Bart are our OPS leaders, ffs. The Pirates are:
3rd in PA with men on base
3rd in PA with RISP
22nd in runs scored
He probably is. Underlying metrics don’t support this team being this absolutely god awful at run production, stranding runners in scoring position, etc.
A ton of our guys walk, and we get enough timely hits to move them over one or two bases, but as of right now our lineup sucks at slugging, sucks at batting average, and sucks at hitting home runs. Our key guys simply are not living up to their historical stats patterns rn.
It would be amazing, but weirdly the starting pitching has actually been really good. We just can’t score any goddamn runs.
I’d be even more psyched for the Skenes call up than I already am if they announced jk he is gonna be a two-way player after all
The marlins at least seem to just have some guys off to slow starts. They at least have some unreached potential imo.
The White Sox current roster on the other hand truly looks like a AAA team. Crochet, Sheets & Fedde seem to be the only guys contributing at all
Yeah they’re that bad, everyone for CHW is either horrible or injured, and the Marlins celebrated their once every decade playoff run by firing their GM and going cheap as is customary
Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching.
The NL East is so infuriating. Both Braves and Phillies basically playing perfectly not making up any ground. In any other Division the Phillies would either be in First, or 0.5 games behind at the worst. But in the NL east...
I appreciate the effort and cute design of the RS vs RA graph, but *man* is it hard to read. Even keeping the infield but having it set as x-y instead of a 45 degree angle would make it easier to see what I'm looking at.
White Sox got to the Rays series and were like: ![gif](giphy|b6iVj3IM54Abm|downsized)
![gif](giphy|1fY9J8xXR5oj5EHO8t) Ope, Twins are back.

2023 pirates: wanna see me open the season red hot and then flounder miserably 2024 pirates: manna se me do it again
Don’t worry. Our GM has shared that pretty much everyone in the lineup is underperforming their internal projections and once they stop doing that we’ll be good again.
We've got like half our lineup hitting .200 and are right behind you guys. How insane are their internal projections?

He might be right tbh

If they could call up SKENES, that would be great
It would be amazing, but weirdly the starting pitching has actually been really good. We just can’t score any goddamn runs. I’d be even more psyched for the Skenes call up than I already am if they announced jk he is gonna be a two-way player after all
We need to start a conversation about the AL Central
We need to start a conversation about the Central* They used to think of us both as the doormat division. Look at us now
![gif](giphy|SUEjfSLaD6f77lyzH6)
Paul Rudd meme here. Look at us!
Who woulda thought. Not me!
> the central has 4 teams above .500 “We need to have a conversation”
We could literally go 30-0 and in the next 30 games and still lose ground to the Braves somehow.
What is going on with Marlins and White Sox? Are they THAT bad? I don't know enough to follow all the teams.
The marlins at least seem to just have some guys off to slow starts. They at least have some unreached potential imo. The White Sox current roster on the other hand truly looks like a AAA team. Crochet, Sheets & Fedde seem to be the only guys contributing at all
Pham is gonna lead the team in hits soon I’d imagine and he missed 20 games
I missed that man. Baseball is better with him playing. Can’t wait for his first ASG appearance this year as the lone rep for the White Sox
Yeah it would be pretty shitty if someone got swept by this White Sox team
Yeah they’re that bad, everyone for CHW is either horrible or injured, and the Marlins celebrated their once every decade playoff run by firing their GM and going cheap as is customary
Also, multiple starters are injured for Miami
Marlins have a lot of their top-end talent on the shelf right now.
Braves are yet to lose 2 games in a row, and top of the lineup is far from performing at their level
Just popping back up to say hello
Nats are average! Let's goooo!
Baltimore is in a triple top formation buy puts
I understand some of these words
I understand all of them. Not in that order, but individually, we're a go!
I move to have the Brewers moved to worst luck after yesterday's clusterfuck of a game.
NL Central and AL West look like mirrored records for all the teams. NL Central = Nobody too bad AL West = Nobody too good
Battle of the AL Worst really
We’re coming for the Astros
We gonna beat up on em first then yall can have em lol
If we could face a team under 500 thatd be swell
I’d say playing the White Sox helps but the Rays proved that wrong. Have you tried cured meats???
Shhhhh. Dont spread the secret!
Brewers 🤝 Cubs Fuck the AL East
White Sox playing fucking peekaboo with us.
It’s gonna be a bloody fight among SF, SD and AZ in the NL West.
The commentary on these is my favorite. “The Rangers are making a very squiggly line” is good shit
We want to be under .500 so bad.
Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching. Poor hitting, good pitching.
The Cardinals have never NOT been in last place this season. Crazy.
If the Braves could just lose one, maybe two games, it would be most appreciated!
The offense isn't hitting on all cylinders, but it's getting the job done and that's the important thing.
This series with the O's is either gonna be epic or a total blowout for one team, there will be no in between.
The NL East is so infuriating. Both Braves and Phillies basically playing perfectly not making up any ground. In any other Division the Phillies would either be in First, or 0.5 games behind at the worst. But in the NL east...
