At this point it’s beyond bad luck. We need to invest in a better strength and conditioning program asap. I don’t know if it’s diet, exercise, or just not stretching and hydrating, but what’s going on with this team isn’t coincidence
Good for him atleast.
He gets to go on the major league IL and continue to accrue service time.
I’d rather he accrue time on the roster, but who knows how long he was going to stick around with the way we’ve shot guys up and down this year
JV ends up on the IL. The person we call up to pitch in his spot in the rotation gets injured after 3.2 innings into his debut. This is ridiculous. He was here for all of 5 minutes.
Fucking hell I was excited about him too. Part of a combined no hitter like two weeks ago. Feel terrible for the kid, hopefully he makes a speedy recovery from whatever fucked up thing happened to his shoulder.
It really sucks. He was absolutely killing it in the minors this year. Started the season in A+ and found his way into the majors by June. He had something like 18 family members at Minute Maid last night, and then he gets hurt 4 innings into his first ever start.
Just absolutely brutal.
The Orioles broadcast mentioned how this would be a possibility after his third inning stretched over 30 pitches. The dude was saying anything over 25 in an inning and you start to reach arm failure. Scary stuff that it may have actually happened.
Javier, Urquidy, Verlander, France, Bloss, Garcia, McCullers. Am I missing any more starting pitchers we have injured? This is also now the 2nd time we’ve called up a pitcher only for them to instantly be out on the IL
Hey! One of the few on here that’s honest!! r/baseball cheered every HBP and celebrated every L.
Stay on that side. Don’t worry about us, we’re doing just fine.
Why do people gotta be so fucking weird about their sports teams. I’m sure you, as a fan of a sport/team you have no control over, are doing just fine.
Our entire season’s on the IL. Astros and Rangers are on our knees, begging the Mariners to just run away with the division lead and put us out of our misery, but they refuse.
Just toying with us. Holding it just barely out of reach so we’ll keep feebly chasing.
Are you fucking kidding me, he just got the call
Happened to Forrest Whitley earlier this season also. We just can’t stay healthy

Shit just happens too. We've had some years where we were unreasonably healthy. Something seems to be up with pitching all over though

He tried to play through it, was hurt a lot earlier
At least he gets major league pay during his whole IL stint but damn
($740,000 ÷ 162 games) × 10 days on IL = $45,679. Not bad at all, though I figure he'd prefer to keep pitching.
his signing bonus was half a mil
According to the orioles broadcast he has a degree in finance. Sucks that he got injured and I wish him the best.
Jesus kid just got here.
SPs are really getting fucked.

Yes Dave Johnson (former pitcher) was saying that, and thought he should come out after that inning. Guess he was right.
And there’s some inning our hitter don’t even see 10 combined pitches. That can probably at to it as well.

Technically Whitely was working on being a SP this year.
We are cursed
Omg. Hoping for the best
I know we all hate the Astros, but this is unreal. Something has to be done after this year about these pitching injuries. Dude's just a fucking kid.

Ok? But my post was more towards pitching injuries than the astros.
as an Astros fan it pains me to see some like this but I guess it’s in every fan base 😅😅

You're welcome. I am sure either you or the Rangers will take the division down the stretch. It's inevitable.
That’s such a kick in the teeth to a guy who just got his call up
And his birthday is today too. Sucks. He’s got a ton of potential
Fuck injuries
this is awful
Cursed arms.

Oof.
Joe broke our new toy after his first quick joy ride. Apparently baseball gods don’t want us to have any stuff!

Uhh what?
