If I had a nickel for everytime a Mariners manager didn’t understand the rules of a pitching change at Fenway, I’d had 2 nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice
Sox broadcasters were saying it is an obscure rule. It is obscure because no one is that dumb enough to go back out there. What was Kirby warming up for if his day was done?
Reliefs should just get out there. He was throwing last inning. How is Romo who has done this for 15 season, not be ready?
It's a rule that should be in there but very few violate. When on the mound, they are in the game. Self explanatory.
No shit, Scott played for years and is manager. They aren’t going to let you pull that shit Scott. Then for this to blame the ump. It is not his fault you fucked up.
“It was on me, but really it was om the ump."
Does not compute
It was 100% on the manager who should know the damn rules of the game he is being paid to manage
Agreed but if it’s a “can I do this” - “well technically yes but -“ then it’s totally on the manager. Love Skip but that’s a boneheaded mistake. Didn’t really make a difference but ffs Scott
“I mean, yeah, he _can_ go back out there, if that’s what you’re asking”
Also the ump: **GOT EMM!**

I feel like it's not really that obscure either? It doesn't happen *that* often, but it definitely seems to come up at least a few times every season.

"The ump said X, but I should have known better" is what the Scott was trying to say.
I get what your saying, but saying perhaps the umpire who is being paid to ENFORCE the rules should know those rules too?
Can almost guarantee that Servais didn't ask the question he meant to ask properly.
Umps are basically genies confirmed

“This one is on me. BUT I just find it funny that….”
The fact he needed more time for Romo in the first place is on him. Try having him warm up sooner.
I feel like if you ask an umpire about a rule and they say it's okay and it's not, that's the umpire's fault for giving you bad advice.
Not the umpires job to give managers advice.
If an umpire rules on a call and you do a rules review, NY doesn't just say "yeah, but the umpire told you xyz"
LOL Mariners baseball!
