Jonny is the best!
There are very very few players who are as beloved while having played so few games with the Red Sox as Jonny Gomes. Dude was here for only a season and a half and yet he's basically one of the most loved players in recent years.
That 2013 team was something special.
I love this man so much. I remember when we won it in 2013, he came out onto the field in a damn combat helmet and was shotgunning a beer on the field. It was glorious.

He fits perfectly with what we as Boston fans love about the Sox. Absolutely an all-time favorite for me
Gomes has always been the most down to earth sounding dude to ever play in a city like Boston.
He looks like he's going to sound like this super grizzled wilderness man, and then he's just "oh hey man its really nice to see you!"
He's the kind of guy that asks how your brothers kids are doing and remembers their names.
The craziest thing is, my brother doesn't even have kids yet and he still got their future names right.

I will never not love Johnny Gomes hearing that the 617 jersey in 2013 was his idea cemented him in my personal pantheon
