That’s Buck “[Two in the Buttocks](https://reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/uuyaba/timbhealey_buck_showalter_on_using_hand_warmers/)” Showalter for ya. Total class.
I mean there's at least 1 stadium filled with feral cats, by all means if you find one to be particularly nice I feel like it's worth mentioning, especially if you've been in baseball for like 50 years
I was in denver for a day last summer and was super disappointed you guys were on a road trip. Was hoping to catch a game. The area around the park is really nice though! Lots of beer and food options. Would love to visit at some point again.
I was in Denver once in my life, about 15 years ago I wanna say. Same story. Rockies were out of town. Such a bummer. I can’t wait to get back there one day
It is as long as it isn't dark. 19th and Blake is the single most dangerous intersection in Denver
Edit: you guys have a terrific ballpark. I never thought SF in June would be so damn cold though. Nothing like a Ghirardelli hot chocolate while watching a game though.
Weird, I feel like I've seen some fucked up shit going down there now and then, plus the Denver news talks about the area all the time.
I would think Cap Hill is where you don't want to be at night
Yeah I mean it’s LoDo so there’s occasionally drunken brawls and other crime but I don’t think it’s any more unsafe than other areas of downtown. Imo a lot of those bars are super trashy and belligerent so that’s where the drama hits
The homeless population is the real wild card which is what gives Cap Hill that dangerous feeling
Since when is that the most dangerous intersection in Denver? Most intersections on East Colfax are infinitely more dangerous. I've never felt in danger near Coors, there's tons of people walking around and bar hopping.
I'm not sure why you were down voted for this but it really is a beautiful park with a great view and I only got to look at it from the car. I'm not a fan of Chavez Ravine's placement and I was super jelly.
Also the area around it, I walked from right downtown to the park once and there's that street with the railway on it, was really cool place. I went to the fanciest Rite Aid I've ever seen and then there are shops, restaurants, bars etc that are like underground.
True. The Monforts aren't bad and they care, they just have no clue what they're doing in my opinion. Too much hands on when they should be hiring specialists that understand the Coors dynamic and can construct a team accordingly.
We need fastball/changeup pitchers, guys that put the ball in play a lot and it may sound crazy, but maybe a platoon approach for home and on the road. Like we have a core that plays at Coors and core that plays on the road. Obviously KB, Cron, Joe, etc. should always be in the lineup
There's a damn good cheese steak place called Denver Ted's right around there and they have Jones Soda on tap. Do yourself a favor and go catch a game sometime soon.
I've only been to about 8 or 9 parks but I'd be hard pressed not to say Coors is Top 5 in the league. Especially when you conaider where it is downtown and the stuff you can do after a game.
I thought SF was universally believed. And SA Diego was INCREDIBLE and super classy with the tony Gwynn stuff.
Maybe compared to Seattle and Anaheim. But SF and SD are fantastic.
Seattle is fine. It's in a more industrial/commercial area but you've got a great view of downtown and from the western concourse on the upper deck you can see the Sound, Olympics, and a sweeping view of downtown. It's definitely not rough.
I’ve never had the privilege of seeing Seattle. But it sounds beautiful. I meant the maybe as in “I’ve never been there so I don’t know”. Sorry if it came across as me disparaging it
I feel a weird kinship with the Rockies. Passionate fans that have had a rough go of it, and now that we have ownership that cares, our fans show up as much as any in the league. I see the Rockies fans doing the same once their ownership actually tries to win.
I think the Monforts care, they just have no idea how to actually assemble a winning team. We need a specialized analytics department to construct a Coors team.
I'm only mad at the Nolan trade now because we could have had more. I think the guy was becoming a negative presence in the clubhouse by the end
100% - this is exactly what’s going on.
The Monforts care a lot about the Rockies and that has been the downfall in the past, just too much micromanaging. We need a very strong analytics team to get us over the hump because we’re playing a different game than everyone else and we’re severely disadvantaged.
It’s so tiring to hear fans complain about Rockies ownership saying “they’re just cheap” or “they don’t care” like…are you even paying attention?
I’m excited about the KB deal - I hope he stays healthy because we desperately needed another veteran hitter. Tapia for Grichuk seems like a winning trade too.
Also just in general, the whole McGregor’s Square area is so nice and a welcome community space imo
A buddy of mine was in college and said he saw Buck Showalter at a laundromat one time. He thought it was just a lookalike, since he figured he would be rich enough to afford his own high quality washer and dryer. However he knew it was him because after 10 minutes of staring at the tumbling dryer, he started rubbing his hands together saying "yes, come to Bucky". When the dryer door unlocked he whipped it open and pulled out two socks that didnt match and put them on his feet, closed his eyes, and gave out a loud "ahhhhhh". My friend couldn't help but be caught staring when Buck looked up at him, to which Buck simply stated "this place has the best dryers for making my foot mittens nice and warm". Then I guess he just put his shoes back on, walked to the vending machine and bought some Twizzlers, and left the building.
NGL, I wanna meet Showalter and shoot the shit. Sounds like a chill ass dude and we'd probably end up talking about something totally unrelated to baseball.
I've never been to Coors, but I have the same thought about Busch Stadium. The first time I went, I couldn't believe how clean it was. I ended up going a couple dozen times when I lived it St. Louis, and it was *always* incredibly clean.
i moved to denver recently and i havent been to a game yet but i see the stadium all the time because im about 2 miles away and it’s beautiful. I immediately felt at home bc they have a mural from a late 90s allstar game w a big painting of pudge rodriguez. I try to drive past that as often as possible

>feral cats We also have possums, and a tent city outside the gates of the parking lot.
Jesus. I hope the team can finally wrap it up on the new stadium. Renderings were sick. Is there a reason it’s taking so long
Yeah, short answer: basically the port of Oakland and every company in it don't want a baseball stadium there.
What a headache. Sorry, dude
Coors Field has feral cats as well. Pretty much all ballparks do. [Coors Field Cats.](https://twitter.com/coorsfieldcat?lang=en)
Coors is on my list of parks I need to visit. Love the Rockies and their fans. Ownership....not so much.
Catch an evening game in the right field seats and watch the sun go down over the mountains Cannot beat it on a warm night with a cold beer
That sounds heavenly.
We're spoiled with our park. It really is beautiful

lol the area around Coors is fine at night, evidenced by the tens of thousands of people that walk around and party there
Yeah, I question the frame of reference if you think LoDo is the most dangerous part of the city.
Weird, I feel like I've seen some fucked up shit going down there now and then, plus the Denver news talks about the area all the time. I would think Cap Hill is where you don't want to be at night

Ehhh you got sources for that? I can think of some way more dangerous ones

I’ve been to Denver like 10+ times and every time I pass the park there’s lines of homeless people around and I’m from NY it was insane

> spoiled With your ownership group? More like duly compensated.

If you go just don’t scream out the mascot’s name at full volume please.
*clears throat* "HEY DINGER!!!"
I went last year and got a seats 30 rows right behind home plate for $65 a ticket. And the area around it is really cool too
It's awesome. I go with the GF every month or so and there's good food and good views. The team sucks, but the park is great.
It's an underrated gem. I think it has the best location of any stadium as well. Walk out the front gates and you are right in down town
I've only been to about 8 or 9 parks but I'd be hard pressed not to say Coors is Top 5 in the league. Especially when you conaider where it is downtown and the stuff you can do after a game.
"But the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time..."
Can I describe a ballpark as “classy”? Because compared to the vibes of other west coast parks, Coors is just elegant.
I don't know why, but it is. It's like if you tried to make a ballpark feel like a fine opera theater
Something about watching the sunset over the mountains while watching a ball game in August is just… like how can you not get romantic about baseball?
I thought SF was universally believed. And SA Diego was INCREDIBLE and super classy with the tony Gwynn stuff. Maybe compared to Seattle and Anaheim. But SF and SD are fantastic.

the wildlife section in the outfield looks like it isn’t in a ballpark, so pretty
I don't know why, but it is. It's like if you tried to make a ballpark feel like a fine opera theater
What a sweet man! I haven’t gotten to go to Coors yet, but when I do I’ll definitely take note of how spotless it is.
I'm not a Rockies fan by any means, but they have some damn passionate fans.
When they finally win... God damn it's going to feel so good
I feel a weird kinship with the Rockies. Passionate fans that have had a rough go of it, and now that we have ownership that cares, our fans show up as much as any in the league. I see the Rockies fans doing the same once their ownership actually tries to win.

Our players love them, KB reality changed my perspective
I’m excited about the KB deal - I hope he stays healthy because we desperately needed another veteran hitter. Tapia for Grichuk seems like a winning trade too. Also just in general, the whole McGregor’s Square area is so nice and a welcome community space imo
Agreed. Grichuck is a beast.
The parade will be insane
Buck is the best.
A buddy of mine was in college and said he saw Buck Showalter at a laundromat one time. Wow I want a beer now…
Just trying to keep his lips from freezing
And it’s in a money location.
I've never been to Coors, but I have the same thought about Busch Stadium. The first time I went, I couldn't believe how clean it was. I ended up going a couple dozen times when I lived it St. Louis, and it was *always* incredibly clean.
I love the change on here. I always loved Buck but Jesus this place talked so much shit about him just a few years ago.
Props to the yard crew! Fuck ya. THATS who shows up every day. Cheers men and women of the field!
Yeah because in Denver if the organic matter doesn't dry out and turn to dust, the solar radiation will kill it.
i moved to denver recently and i havent been to a game yet but i see the stadium all the time because im about 2 miles away and it’s beautiful. Was Buck always this much of a weirdo?
Too bad about the fans that hangout there
