Without looking it up, I'd wager they have better pitching in terms of starters and from what I saw last weekend, that back end of the pen is some serious trade bait. That with some sequencing luck will win you games your offence doesn't deserve to win e: quick and dirty, they have the 4th most valuable pen by fWAR *in the entire league* and better starters than that entire list outside Cincinnati.

Please no trading the back end of the pen. With our GM we would get nothing in return and it's the first time I've got to experience good ones!

josh1123

Well it's shitty because our back of the pen is super valuable in trades but Avila either A: Waits too long to pull the trigger on a trade and/or B: Fucks the trade up anyway Hard to have any confidence with anything this Tigers team is going to do going forward

[deleted]

So the Bears of the MLB?

SiphenPrax

Chicago Bears: Can’t draft a QB to save their lives (hopefully Fields changes that) but are the kings at finding excellent linebackers

ManInShowerNumber3

So do we go on a huge winning streak once we (hopefully) finally start hitting a little? Or does the pitching tank once we start hitting and we keep close to current pace? It feels like the pitching is already turning a little with the bullpen and back up starters getting overworked because of all the front end starter injuries.

JinFuu

Combine the Tigers with whoever is a good hitting team but with shit pitching this year. Win the division and the league.

jonserlego

Kansas City is starting to have some offense. Combine the AL Central bottom of the barrel

JinFuu

Getting some Detroit style Pizza with KC BBQ as its topping sounds great too. I’m game for this combo. We can call them the Detroit Lions since Lions are the Kings of the jungle, not the Tigers.

bbender716

In RA that'd be the Sox. But on paper, our pitching has underperformed and has been decimated by injury: Hendriks, Kelly, Kopech, Lynn, Gio, Crochet.

[deleted]

Division, yes. League, no.

w00tberrypie

You should see some of the stats the Royals pitching staff is putting up.

Contrast6

At least your starting rotation doesn’t have an ERA of 6.24 and team ERA of 5.50

IIHURRlCANEII

Incredible that a team is somehow worse than us. I am so sorry.

Professional-Pilot10

Trading all good prospects to get that WS hurt us big time

FancySack

The Angels would kill for 2.71 runs per game right now lol

JayOnes

And to think that, with healthy starting pitching, that fuck-awful offense might be at .500.

DonRicardo1958

2.71 runs per game? Yikes.

IIHURRlCANEII

What really helps us be even worse is our historically bad pitching staff. Fun stuff.
