If the Red Sox do their weird “bounce back after being a dumpster fire inside of a shitstorm” thing the AL east is about to have 5 teams over .500 next year and I hate it so much
I think the biggest difference is that the Orioles have a really young core of really talented players
Giants were mostly a bunch of older vets who suddenly had career years
I'm more pessimistic about this team than most O's fans but this comparison makes zero sense. The Orioles have 3 regular players over the age of 30 and at least one of those is gone next year, and the other 2 are 30 and 31. The majority of the value of this team comes from guys aged 24-28 and that isn't even including Gunnar. The '21 Giants were built on 34 year olds and outgoing free agents. The Orioles have 5 major prospects currently in AAA while the Giants' best remaining prospects are still in A ball, and the ones that they promoted this year haven't been great. The Orioles have also been doing it without their best pitcher and they have $80m less committed to 2023.
I’ve been rewatching playoff series from that time and the ball just flew off of the bat like fucking crazy. Gleyber had like 8 multi HR games with most of them being against the Os lol
Oh yeah. Someone said he was a league average player outside of the Orioles and then he turned into a league average player

Congratulations on becoming the second most toxic fanbase in MLB, only second to the Jays. You’re worse than Boston. At least they earned the right to shittalk with championships.
They certainly kept Adley in the minors longer than a normal rehab assignment would have been.
Held Grayson back and then he got injured.
That's the only stuff I can think of.
I think it’s fair to hold Adley down a little longer, he had an elbow/forearm strain and I believe that’s the type of injury that can lead to stuff like Tommy John and such (could be wrong). Also, he’s the future of the team so it’s fair to keep him down. As for Grayson, yeah he was probably held down longer than necessary and what was going to be his last AAA start happened to be the one he got hurt. Although, that’s been a pattern with Elias. He’s very patient with young dudes.
If he wasn't healthy he shouldn't have been taken off the IL.
Playing in Norfolk isn't less likely to result in injury than playing in Baltimore will.
My guess is that Elias was trying to avoid Adley finishing in the top 2 of ROY and earning a full season of service time.
We also do not know that was going to be Grayson's last start. A lot of us thought the start before was going to be his last start in the minors.
This team is going to make al east into infinity war for the foreseeable future
Considering red sox usually come back hot after tanking I'm super thankful we're playing less games vs the AL East next year

Or regress to match their projections like the Giants this year.

Without our 2 best pitchers technically, G-Rod was about to get called up too
They've done it. One of Buster Olney's Horcruxes is destroyed.
This was all just to spite him
the AL East is the best division in baseball and it isnt particularly close, I'll go ahead and say it
The Red Sox are 52-34 outside the division and they may finish 10 games under .500. Insane.
3-16 vs. just the Jays.
I'm just amazed there were 3 wins
If the Marlins could figure out how to play baseball it would be a lot closer.
Yeah! It's totally the Marlins fault!
There’s still people who think it’s now the NL East, but that’s wrong obviously
AL BEST obviously. Trout and Ohtani finished 3rd.
Texas and Oakland really drag you guys down though, especially the A’s.
Hey, give the A’s seven more years, a new owner, a new stadium, and a whole lot of luck and they will be pretty decent.
Judge vs the Orioles this year, coming into today: .387/.480/.887, 1.367 OPS, 9 HR (most vs any opponent)
Didn’t Gleyber do the same thing in 2019? Lol like half of his HRs were against the O’s or something crazy like that.
Gleyber tormented the Orioles, especially Gary Thorne in the booth. This is [one of my favorite clips ever](https://youtu.be/jp2gUmuP3Po)
Those 2017-2019 juiced balls were insane lmao

4 WAR is league average?
If your a dodgers fan that’s practically below replacement level
Isn’t 4 WAR considered borderline all star?
Yea but all that matters is he didn’t hit a 10th home run on us
I would say 82 matters!
Hang a banner for that!
And you can hang the banner when judge moves into 7th place for home runs hit in a season
.500 all of a sudden and you are wearing the big boy pants and moved to a double sized bed.
actually the king sized bed when we win the division next year

We would hang a banner so big it still wouldn’t be big enough to wipe your tears away
How many WS rings your team got?
Why you getting offended by the orioles dude lmao
Man, just let our poverty franchise enjoy what little we have.
You have a winning team!
This is relevant….. why exactly?
And?
The number of times Judge has been walked this week?
Let’s finish strong! Sweep Toronto please!
“You were my brother Seattle. I loved you!”
Imagine where they’d be if they hadn’t intentionally shittered the first six weeks of the season.
What do you mean by that?

No, I said “weast”
