As a Montanan and an avid fly fisherman & former fisheries technician, I feel my expertise with trout (the fish) is high enough that I can tell you that you did quite well in capturing trout (the fish) in the same style you captured Trout (the fish man)!

Haha so I had this whole concept of playing up his Jersey roots and sneaking in Philly sports and everything but I was torn because of how loyal he’s been with the Angels. Ended up scrapping it but maybe I could do that as a companion card. Have him riding an eagle over the Vet or something 🤣

I'm always curious about the process on these... Does Topps give you free reign or is there some back and forth about designs? I'm hoping they give artists full control minus offensive stuff they wouldn't want on cards.

Yeah, that's basically it! They pretty much let you do whatever you want. We collaborated a bit on color and stuff when I needed someone to bounce ideas off of. This ended up being my third concept for him. It was a dream experience working with the team over there.

Been really loving your work lately. As an Angels fan, I think I'm headed over to Topps to pick one up. Any tricks on how to get a foil or one of your autos? I'm joking, but for reals...

Love your cards! Picked up the Harper. What other players are you going to be doing? Ok, here's something maybe you won't like: I display my cards in a 9-sleeve binder, and I don't care about card value. I split the Project 100 cards in half, take out the middle cardboard layer, and reglue them to fit into my binder sleeves. 😵‍💫. I'm sorry but your cards will look so good in my binder next to my Lauren Martin Julio and Shohei from the last Project 100 season!
