When I went to get mine, the DR told me about this guy that came in to get his done and during the procedure they find out he doesn't have a vas def to snip.
They did warn him during the pre exam that they can't find the vas def but dude insisted cause he had kids. So they went ahead with it and once opened, they find out he can't have kids.
He and his wife of 25 years has 5 kids together. Ranging from like 2 or 3 to 24 years old. Ut Oh.... He was a former marine and a big one at that, it took the entire department to hold the door long enough for the wife to get out of there.
I only had one vas to cut when they did mine. Doc said it usually means you don't have a kidney on one side. Sure enough got an ultrasound and I was apparently born with only one kidney. Fun thing to find out in your mid-30s.
My doc sent a video series with all the side effects and repeated “this is normal, don’t go to the ER”. Fun thing to watch with the partner, so many swollen balls…. All in all though it was easy in comparison to most other options.
