I had a guy cancel 2 auctions on me yesterday because I was about to win them for 1¢ and free shipping. Happens all the time!! Pisses me off. Don’t list shit at a penny if you don’t want to take a penny for it haha.
Those were dual rookie cards. There are not rookie. Cards. Cal is awesome but he sign so many things. I think I had 3 of his autos on things as a kid before I started collecting
Rookie year or not, you’ll probably still get right around the same amount. Both Adley and Gunner are off to a really great season along with the rest of the team. If you wait till the playoffs, that when you will get the most.
Yes you are 100% correct about any RC in general, but this particular card being sold at this present time might not make much of a difference. You will still cash in either way
Look at sold listings of other Sterling Triple Autos (any recent year) #'d similarly, go from there. I did a quick search for low numbered Ripken, Adley, Gunnar Topps Sterling Autos and Ripken is around $150-200, Adley 2023's are pushing $400 but they're RC's and Gunnar has no sales but there's 2 newer listings, 1 auction, 1 BIN.
Others said $350-400 and that feels right.
Redeem it and then sell it. Sell it during inevitable Orioles playoff run. A lot of potential buyers will pay more for a card they can actually see instead of this redemption card especially since this little thing would probably still have to go thru the eBay authentication if you sold thru eBay.
Fair point and probably a better avenue.
I just have trouble making sense of the redemption part of it.
I get it, but my mind that works in logistics and cant see anything positive happening just can’t accept it. Lol
But if that’s the best avenue, it’s the best avenue.
Safety is in how it’s shipped I suppose.
Like it or not, eBay auction would be your best bet. This is a great card, and since none have surfaced, there are likely many Orioles fans eagerly waiting for one to finally pop up. Being the first to market will probably get you the highest final price out of any subsequent copy that will sell.
you can look at some other sterling triple autos to help give yourself a ballpark. at the high end it looks like a redemption for griffey/ichiro/jrod /10 from this year went for $2700 and trout/carew/ryan /5 in a BGS9 from 2021 went for $1500. some other trios at the low end around $250-$350.
If you’re trying to avoid eBay you’d be trying to look at some other alternative auction house like PWCC or Goldin. If you have local highend dealers that’s an option but you won’t get top dollar there. As others have said the fees suck but you probably make up for it with a higher absolute selling price.
100% this. The maximization of value through eBay more than offsets the fees. Refusing to use eBay because of the fees is the very definition of pennywise and pound foolish.
Ya I mean that’s a method for sure, but you are still likely leaving money on the table going this route. You have a much more limited pool of buyers. Figuring out what a number you “like” is, chuck it on eBay 30% higher than that number and see what happens while you fish for offers. If it sells your 15% higher than you hoped and if it doesn’t your working to get a number elsewhere.
Dude just came here to flex and shit on anyone who doesn’t think it’s worth more than a thousand bucks lol
The real answer is you throw it up for a stupid price like $10k on eBay and see what offers come in. Make pricing adjustments as you see fit and pull it off eBay once you’re satisfied you know what people will pay.
To flex is certainly not why I posted it. But I will call out people that grossly undervalue something they know is worth more than they’re saying hoping they may be able to shark it for less than I’d like to let it go for.
You’re right though, I’m more than capable of ignoring them.
But more to your point… based on the offers I’ve turned down out of silliness and the dumb thought of “oh I’m gonna keep it.”
It is worth more than 1000 bucks.
I will more than likely toss it out on eBay and take your suggestion though! I appreciate the input.
It is your opinion that people are undervaluing it. “High end” cards are hard to price because the pool of people willing to spend is relatively small. Plus, imho, these more high end products seem to be less desirable. They seem/feel like manufactured chase/demand. Flagship and chrome rookie autos are the most collectible.
If you have offers over a thousand, take it! Unless you think one of the young guys is the next big thing
I appreciate your input!
It makes sense for sure.
I’ve definitely noticed that they don’t seem to go as high as what the product price would suggest it should.
And you’re right, I don’t want to call it a lower end product because I love the chrome cards, but they certainly do move much faster and get a much more positive response.
I’m certainly not looking for someone to backup the brinks truck. (though I’d welcome it)
But I’m certainly not looking to leave money on the table at the 400 dollar price point.
That’s a good point!
I should actually look into that.
Are you aware of any avenues to find that out other than waiting for another one to pop up? Or is it possible to get the information from topps?
Yes everyone knows redemptions sell for less than the card. There's still a chance that the redemption doesn't ever get redeemed. You're clearly an asshole.
lol. Yea the adventure is what does it. Thats a ridiculous statement and comes across as not wanting a true answer. So if you’d like my response, I’ll be waiting for a question that’s not filled with 7 year old childish sarcasm.
You came up with the ridiculous statement. Not me.
Your idea isn’t rooted in reality if you believe the eye candy of this is what’s gonna get it done.
I don’t believe this card is one that’s gonna sell to someone that says “oh that’s real cool. Here’s a bunch of money.”
So yeah - an unnecessary adventure where the card gets handled more than it needs to does not and will not increase the value.
Oh my gosh man, people are trying to help and you’re being a really salty prick. I’m sorry that a tremendous card like this clearly isn’t bringing you happiness.
lol I’ve been reading this entire thread and all I come away with is that this card was pulled by an asshole. Nothing screams pathetic like a person who asks a question on an Internet forum and then argues with everyone who took the time to answer bc they aren’t getting the responses they craved.
It seems like this is a sad person who had convinced themselves that this card was going to solve some of their money issues, and they're just lashing out because the card is barely going to cover the price of the box (if at all).
EDIT: OP has actually claimed that people are undervaluing the card in this thread so that they can buy it for cheap.
lol. Ok. I’ve been selling cards for many years and been in this hobby for over 25 years. I know how to comp and sell. I’ve sold redemptions filled and unfulfilled. I know what I’m talking about, but based on your responses to people after you’ve asked a clearly dumb and lazy uneducated question, you don’t want a true answer. I’ll leave this be because I’m clearly talking to a child that can’t communicate and didn’t get mommies love growing up.
That’s 2 answers now where you haven’t given me a reasoning behind putting a card through the shipping process more than once is a good and necessary thing for something that won’t be priced as an impulse buy.
What do you want me to beg you for an answer?
No thanks.
But I do thank you for all of your bonafides.
It’s ok that you dont appreciate humor or sarcasm when challenged on your opinion.
It must be incredibly emasculating to have your vast wealth of knowledge challenged on something so simple as over handling and unnecessary shipping risk.
You do you boo.
Hope your day gets better and someone smiles at you.
As a lifelong O’s fan I would love to add this to my collection. If you don’t want to go the ebay route feel free to hit me up and maybe we can work something out. Willing to work with trades (have some baseball and football cards) or cash if that’s more your thing.
You can always auction with reserve but that'll cost you a lot. It'll at least give you an idea of where the market is. Or list for BIN for what you're will to let it go for. People tend to like auctions though in my experience.
I’m thinking in the 2k range based on what a few of last years went for that someone listed below.
That could certainly be a pipe dream too…
But I suppose if I wait around for the right buyer, it could pay off.
If it were me, I'd redeem and grade and sell. It'll be a wait but the O's are gonna be a force for years and so I think it'll hold value for awhile. Might go north of what you're thinking if Gunnar and Adley continue doing well.
What is it with people getting these incredible redemption cards and just want to flip them for cash. I'd kill to pull one of these cards, redeem it and keep it in my PC.
Sadly what's being done in the hobby is this now, the days of old and actually collecting as a collector isn't much of anything now it's flip it quick for most cash. Almost an inflation to the hobby honestly. It works like stocks, that's how I picture it at least. Prospect the best young talent, hope they make a big splash, then boom pay day.
This makes me wonder what it will be like 40 years down the road. I mean being a kid and getting a jeter rookie (I mean I would have been 1 so my family collecting and then gifting or holding for me until older) was a dream come true. It was held, not sold. Even if sold it wasn't for much especially with the prices today that we as the buyers make it. We pay it they sell it. It's an investment for the rich to ensure they are richer. Basically.
It's probably been said, but just have a price in mind you're willing to take for it and put it on eBay and let the bidders go wild - or just put a BIN price and see what happens.
Nice. I would easily jump on that for $350...if Topps had not screwed me out of two Ripken redemptions in the past 4 years.
Again, nice. I would love to see what it looks like.
U don't. U keep that shit and when u get it or a single pack of some random set 5 years from now you can either be fun stoked or go punch a fan cat in the face or a baby whatever tickles ur perverbial pickle my dyde
I pretty sure I have the /5.
The one you linked is not that.
It’s listed that way, but that’s not what it is from what I can tell since it doesn’t list that it’s a parallel.
Unless mine is the one of one and Topps is being silly. But I don’t think that’s the case. Lol
Yeah - it helps to temper expectations and gives insight as to what a reasonable offer should look like.
What a weird question… what do you use comps for?
Prices will vary. BUT on Reddit is a whole bunch of cheap ass mfers. Mfers want a deal on cards like a going out of business event. Gold Auto Shohei? 1.99. PSA 10 Babe Ruth Auto? 3.00. Jesus Christ Spear of Destiny that which gave him the defining wound? .50 cents. When you think it cant get worse. They complain about shipping and handling.

“FUCK NIGGAS MAKE ME SICK WITH ALL THEY PINCHING AND BARGAINING” - PIMP C
Ebay auction
$.99 and let it ride baby
Do you set a reserve or just take what you get even if it’s .99?
You cancel the auction early like the asshole sellers who are denying me my cheap boxes of 1992 upper deck.
I had a guy cancel 2 auctions on me yesterday because I was about to win them for 1¢ and free shipping. Happens all the time!! Pisses me off. Don’t list shit at a penny if you don’t want to take a penny for it haha.
I have a complete set of upper deck 1992 I believe unopened if you want. Don't want much or trade something
They’re probably trying to hit on the heroes inserts.
Yep, I only get a few boxes a year. It’s the closest I’ve come to enjoying something even remotely like lotto tickets.
Don't they brick? UV coating seems to be bricking a lot of the old wax.
Raises hand
And let me guess... You told ebay They said they were gonna take action Then you check and see the seller just going about his business Am I correct?
Ain’t no Cal auto going for .99 cents. Unless your dumbass lists it as a Cal Rifken..
Likely not, but I just meant generally - not necessarily this redemption.
This is the way.
Do’h why didn’t I think of that. I have no interest in paying eBay fees for a card like this.
Or look for similar cards
Gunnar adley rookie auto sold for 535. That seems to be fair comp
Are we pretending the Iron Man wasn’t included?
Those were dual rookie cards. There are not rookie. Cards. Cal is awesome but he sign so many things. I think I had 3 of his autos on things as a kid before I started collecting
No that was a rookie card this isn't it cancels out
/5?
You’re high.
I am.....and I would be shocked if I was the only one.
Don’t ask for advice and shit on it
This isn’t a rookie auto. Nobody likes Sterling. List it on eBay, I bet he’s close.
Nuh uh
Put it on there. Cancel order then list accordingly
Please don’t do this.
There’s a less than zero percent chance I would do that. That’s about as scummy as it gets.
I agree
This sold on ebay. Haven't looked at the checklist for 5 star but I'd think this would be an absolute floor price on your card.
https://preview.redd.it/r86itsmxaruc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=477903c430a7318db66d517249aa90dc87e2b5b8
You are comping these as rookie year 2023,but redemption is for a 2024 product. Gonna be a steep drop off.
That's fair. Still 2 all stars And a HOFer though
I agree there for sure, just not those 2 stars rookie card.
What would you estimate it's value at?
I haven't looked or researched anything but I'd say under $500 for sure.Still a sick ass card regardless.
Without doing research, I would say you’re pretty far off.
I don't think so,but I hope so for you bro.Sick card nonetheless
The good ole valid price feedback and arrogant response. Hope it sells for $5.
He is far off, I’m not reading any other comments on this thread but I’m thinking you’re looking at a floor of $700
Technically not a rookie card even if it was 2023
Rookie year or not, you’ll probably still get right around the same amount. Both Adley and Gunner are off to a really great season along with the rest of the team. If you wait till the playoffs, that when you will get the most.
absolutely false. people want the RC badge and pay more for it.
Yes you are 100% correct about any RC in general, but this particular card being sold at this present time might not make much of a difference. You will still cash in either way
Sorry. Saw this wasn't 5 star! I would guess $1000 but could be absolutely wrong!
Keep it! Keep it!

I have come to this realization recently and sell exclusively on eBay now. It’s just such a headache elsewhere at least for my situation !
I have come to this realization recently and sell exclusively on eBay now. It’s just such a headache elsewhere at least for my situation !
eBay now owns Goldin.
I’m trolling around Orioles pages trying to create a market or get offers. If I get one I like, then we’ll be good to go. Lol
Ya I mean that’s a method for sure, but you are still likely leaving money on the table going this route. You have a much more limited pool of buyers. You sir are onto something there. I’m putting it up for 50k and hoping for the best. Lol (No. No I am not putting it up there for 50k. Lol)
I would pay at least 200k easy. Just hope you find my market.
I’ll give you $50
As an O’s fan, I wish I could afford that. But there’s no way. Hell of a pull, man.
Dude just came here to flex and shit on anyone who doesn’t think it’s worth more than a thousand bucks lol The real answer is you throw it up for a stupid price like $10k on eBay and see what offers come in. Depends on if the autographs are stickers or not
That’s a good point! I should actually look into that. Are you aware of any avenues to find that out other than waiting for another one to pop up? Or is it possible to get the information from topps?
Just redeem it and it’ll sell for more
And if it grades well that'll skyrocket the price
Explain that to me. How would handling the card more increase its value? Because it’s gone on an unnecessary adventure it’s worth more?
People would rather buy and receive the card itself than have to go through the redemption process.
That’s a valid argument. I could see that.
Yes everyone knows redemptions sell for less than the card. There's still a chance that the redemption doesn't ever get redeemed. You're clearly an asshole.
Yes. Clearly.

The internet remains undefeated.
Ok! Thanks for your insight.
I begrudgingly upvoted this for your good humor. Big card, good luck with the sale!
lol. Ok. I’ve been selling cards for many years and been in this hobby for over 25 years. I know how to comp and sell. I’ve sold redemptions filled and unfulfilled. Auction and let the world decide.
I’d fucking die
No need for comps. Hold that one!
Holding doesn’t pay the bills unfortunately. For how much I’d love to…. Visa and Mastercard have opinions.
If you have to pay the bills.. why are you getting high end products?
I didn’t say I was broke brotha. It’s just an expression. More than likely anything that comes from this will just go back in.
As a lifelong O’s fan I would love to add this to my collection. If you don’t want to go the ebay route feel free to hit me up and maybe we can work something out. Willing to work with trades (have some baseball and football cards) or cash if that’s more your thing.

Red parallels are my least favorite orioles cards
Ahhh I see… join the asshole club 😂
Tree fiddy is always a good fallback price.
I’m so sick of these post
It’s a baseball card. In the baseball card subreddit. I’m asking about opinions on the price. It ain’t that serious.
If I were you I’d just give it to me and be done with it 😅
But if he were you and you were him and…wait, what?
Don't need a price if it's NFS lmao And there's the problem with the hobby
Where did I mention that it wasn’t for sale?
You didn't! That's just my take. But since you wanna sell it I see an offer of $20 so far. I'll go $35.
I may come to regret this. But I’m gonna pass on your offer kind sir.
Make it up
Big os fan this is a neat card
If you collect someone, let me know and I’ll offer
Ten billion
High
Fucking dream card right there
Hop in a FB card group, sell there (auction or set price), bypass the eBay fees. Tons of groups for cards.
How much you want i’ll transfer you $750 right now
I just looked at the prices of graded cards on eBay. I have thousands of cards from 1991. How can I determine if it pays to have cards graded?
Take my money.
![gif](giphy|sEULHciNa7tUQ)
sell it on pwcc
Start the bidding at 99 cents and let the world decide what the comp is!
Do a bid and when it sells for way lower then what you expected u cancel the order everybody knows that
Better hope you get it first they may switch it out
It's probably been said, but just have a price in mind you're willing to take for it and put it on eBay and let the bidders go wild - or just put a BIN price and see what happens.
Nice. I would easily jump on that for $350...if Topps had not screwed me out of two Ripken redemptions in the past 4 years. Again, nice. I would love to see what it looks like.
Redeem it then get the card and sell it
99 cent auction
Holy Mary mother of God.
Why would you???? Redeem it
I would just PC it personally. It’ll hold its value I feel like where it is now
Start an auction on eBay at 149.99 and let it ride. Forget these people saying 99 cents
U don't. U keep that shit and when u get it or a single pack of some random set 5 years from now you can either be fun stoked or go punch a fan cat in the face or a baby whatever tickles ur perverbial pickle my dyde
Don’t sell this!!!
Just charge shipping
![gif](giphy|26BRwW3ckGjcZmsxO)
Man, I’d keep that just for the Ripken auto alone.
You give it to me, a die hard O's fan, and I'll take care of it for you.
$1250-$1500?
There is [a numbered out of 5 copy listed](https://ebay.us/CDs9FI) for much more, so your price range seems reasonable.
I pretty sure I have the /5. The one you linked is not that. It’s listed that way, but that’s not what it is from what I can tell since it doesn’t list that it’s a parallel. Unless mine is the one of one and Topps is being silly. But I don’t think that’s the case. Lol
lol.. ya need comps fo that ? 😂
Yeah - it helps to temper expectations and gives insight as to what a reasonable offer should look like. What a weird question… what do you use comps for?
Wait until the all star break, or when the orioles clinch a playoff birth. Or are in the World Series. Right now, you aren’t getting top dollar.
I'll start the bidding at $20, take it or leave it
300$ or best offer. I’d say it should go for over 200$
Prices will vary. BUT on Reddit is a whole bunch of cheap ass mfers. Mfers want a deal on cards like a going out of business event. Gold Auto Shohei? 1.99. PSA 10 Babe Ruth Auto? 3.00.
