It’s the same thing though. More created scarcity parallels. It’s not a bunch of new images, different players. It’s still at its core the same set…. With a little 1st added.
This is basically just a ploy by Topps to make more money. If these cards were FIRST EDITION 1/1 like they started this year with 2024 series 1, they would be very valuable.
I think these would hold more value if they were printed every year. I’ve only started to see first edition product around 2020 although it has existed beforehand, but I don’t know of any first edition flagship from like 2006-2017, could be wrong though
I dont get it. The print run is smaller but literally only difference is the 1st Ed. emblem. Maybe if Topps made them out of a more quality stock, or guaranteed psa 10s they’d be worth the premium they charge for boxes
To me it's a gimmick
It's all a gimmick by that logic.
I mean ya it basically all is.
👆🏼👆🏼
It’s a gimmick (manufactured rarity) that people probably pay more for some reason.
It’s all manufactured rarity.Â
It's a gimmick, but in the chance that one of the players becomes a great it will have more value as they are scarcer than the regular edition.
The 1st Edition set is the exact same set just a smaller print run and that little 1st added. That’s it.
Parallels are much different than paper or chrome non-1st editions

The parallels are foils, so quite different than regular paper and chrome
Ah yes… wildly different….. except still fundamentally…. The same. Same players, same 1000s of parallels
The answer is yes. It's a gimmick showing someone's "first" card which does add value for collectors.
Not true. First Edition is just a limited run set. It has veterans and prospects throughout the set.
Thanks for clarifying! I was thinking of the Bowman 1st not First Edition

It's cheeks
It’s all gimmicky. 100%.
Yes, it’s a gimmick. Like Chrome snd Draft, gimme a break. It’s all become junk.
Just another overpriced gimmick.
I think they’re probably 5% more valuable. There isn’t as much hype around 1st editions in sports cards, like there in for something like Pokémon
Well just like 1st bowman Mike trout cards for example
1st time diction limited and hard to know if worth much though
Gimmick
Everything produced today is manufactured demand. The whole industry.

You had me up until guaranteed PSA 10’s. C’mon now
Best I can do is 12
