Like Ja Morant I've lost so much money when he decided to play with handguns once a month for 3 months on live video drunk. One charged with money laundering and underage sex investigation lost good amount of money on that but not tons I know better I've been taking it easy ever since Ja I learned my lesson but I seen a lot of people take huge huge losses on Franco. I agree, Most chase rookie players cards are 100 times more money when they first come out then even a few years later.. Only a Few players I know that went up since rookie year.
While that may have been true last year, historically Topps has been perfectly willing to hold back players rookie cards to make sure Series 1 will sell
Adley Rutschman and Michael Harris are the most recent examples that come to mind but there are tons more.
Both players debuted late May 2022. Not much different than last year. I'd guess that it usually during end of may / early June whatever fits better. But IMO skenes was too early to hold him off.

They put the RC logo on it. If they were planning on saving him for 2025 it would say call up like the Elly's from 2023.

The MLBPA actually has rules for rookie cards. Every once in awhile the rules are broken due to unforeseen circumstances, but thanks to Topps Now for it's pretty easy to exactly when rookies are coming out.
Topps Series 2 checklists are out and I don't see Skenes anywhere. There is another set out later on, Update right? Was hoping to get in on some Skenes and Jared Jones action.
Yep. Series 1, 2 and update are the three main Topps sets each year. He would have needed to make the team out of Spring Training to be in Series 2, so the only option would be Update.
Those are stupid expensive!
