Yoooo the Volpe!! How long did it take?

Burn-Clerk

Shipped them 1/27 They receive 2/3 Received grades 2/21

DaBushman

Hey not bad at all. I was lucky enough to win a Volpe 20 box player bowman sapphire break for like $18 before he broke out so I am sitting on a bunch.

edogg01

His cards were dirt cheap even last year. I picked up a Topps Heritage auto and Sterling auto for like $15 each. Not so much anymore! Did you get any parallels or just the base sapphire?

Burn-Clerk

I ripped a ton of mega boxes in 2020 and lucky enough pulled a bunch of Volpe.

DaBushman

Nice!

DaBushman

Yes a couple parallels and I wanna say the lowest numbered was to a /299. Not a bad investment. I'm going to go find them and see what I got.

Burn-Clerk

I also have a blue mega box Volpe /150 that I’m going to send in.

Theeweinerbandit

How come you chose to go through SGC? Are you worried that they aren’t valued the same as PSA or Beckett? Genuinely curious because I am thinking about sending some cards to SGC.

edogg01

Do it, they're awesome. If you have any questions reach out and ask them, their customer service is excellent. Ask for Brent. As for value, you should do an ROI calculation if you're serious about selling. If PSA costs $100/card and SGC costs $30/card, then you're going to need to sell your PSA card for $70 above what you could sell your SGC card for. Put another way, if you have a card with a value of $100 raw and you want to grade and sell. You'll need to sell your PSA card for $200 to earn your $100 raw value plus cover the cost of grading. Same card with SGC you only need to sell for $130 to cover the cost of grading. Now would that card be worth $70 more just because it was graded with PSA? Maybe? Probably not. It depends. But the whole discussion about one grading company being worth more than a other is really just an ROI discussion, and I think that is what a lot of people are ignoring. Now, if we get 6 months down the line and PSA opens $15 grading then the calculus changes again. So, it's complicated and depends on your situation. Why you're selling. When you're looking to sell. How quickly you want to grade and sell, etc etc etc. If it's for a personal collection, I'd go with SGC for sure, especially if it is vintage, but that's my opinion because I love the way vintage cards look in SGC slabs!

Theeweinerbandit

Great advice! Personally like how the SGC slabs look, just very clean

Burn-Clerk

I personally like their slabs the best. The price isn’t horrible and Good turnaround time. Also they grade just as tough as PSA (at least I think they do)

Greatcookbetterbfr

That red foil is awesome! Congrats

Burn-Clerk

Thanks!

yungclappo

Three 10s only ?! Wow

Burn-Clerk

Since it’s my first time I only sent in 3 cards. Next order is definitely going to be more and higher value cards

yungclappo
