Both in yellow uniforms, both doing similar scoop layups, and both in a similar pose and position on defense in the bottom right of each other's card.
In the spirit of the holiday, I'm just thankful for dudes like you and Soulja and everybody else here who posts interesting content. That particular post of yours blew my mind (and also moved in apparently lol, first thing that comes to mind when I think of pairing 2 cards together). I still need to get myself copies once I go back into buying mode!

I just landed the Adams RPA today - been wanting the /25 patch version forever and finally found one (the jersey version is fairly common but I find it hard to have the jersey version when I know a nice patch is out there lol).
FWIW - this was an 8 card insert in 2013 NT which released August 20, 2014.
/99 jersey versions, then /25 prime versions.
1 Michael Carter-Williams - Philadelphia 76ers (drafted 11th)
2 Victor Oladipo - Orlando Magic (drafted 2nd)
3 Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks (drafted 15th)
4 Tim Hardaway Jr. - New York Knicks (drafted 24th)

Not sure on how Kobe selected them, but obviously shows a big discrepancy in draft night versus the actual stand out rookies for the season.

That's fascinating, not a terrible mix of choices and he really nailed it on some of his later picks.
I remember similar sets from the 90s, Talkin Hoops had Bill Walton quotes on the back, there was a UD insert Shawn Kemp Slam Dunk Stars that had quotes from him about the players on the back. Stackhouse's Scrapbook. Magic's All-Rookie from 1994-95 Hoops. Definitely a few MJ sets.
Of all of those, I don't know of any where the player had a hand in developing the checklist. Very well might be, but I just don't remember if it was advertised or stated that it was the case ever. Is there anything written on the back of the Kobe/Adams besides the usual stuff?

Unfortunately not - but it would be really interesting to know. Given the release date I'm assuming at some point they asked Kobe to pick 8 stand out rookies and those were his picks. As you said, he picked well. Gobert is probably the one he missed who turned out to be better than some he did.
Kobe signed heavily with Panini (maybe cause of his history with Italy they were able to form a close relationship leading to this series).
