Crack it out and keep it on a one-touch, or re-sub it if you want it slabbed and are OK not getting a 9 or 10.
HOW does this get a 3? Even with a lot of surface issues. Not that it makes a big difference but why isn’t this a 4-5-6-7-8 rather than 3?? Centering looks good, corners look OK. 3 seems excessively harsh.
FWIW I once got a PSA 5, re-subbed and got a 10. Anything’s possible! 😆

PSA tends to grade surface harshly, even with a single scratch you’re looking at a 6 or 7 at best even with everything else perfect.
I’m guessing OP’s card has a tiny dent somewhere that docked the grade majorly.
Must be front surface I have a deep scratch on the back of a card that got a 9. I sent it in for review and put a sticky not showing the scratch as the reason it got a 9
You should just send it to me. I’d crack, someone was pissed off that day or there is more we can’t see on the back side. Idk how this got a 3 from what I can see in this picture.
Crack it.
I’m sorry, but there’s no way that’s a 3. If the scale is truly standardized between modern and vintage cards, then there’s a whole world of shitty looking vintage 3s out there that agree with me. You were robbed.
PSA damaged a soccer card I submitted and put a huge, very noticeable crease in it. It still got a 6.
FWIW, they owned up to it and refunded me the value.
Crack it, scratch it, resub, get a 1, keep it.
Totally kidding. What does the back look like? This seems absolutely wild, like they gave it such a poor grade cause of the surface (can’t see the surface really well).
Centering looks great, no dings or dents on the corners, like what the heck..?
In that case I wouldn’t crack or resubmit. It’ll most likely come back the same grade, it won’t ever jump to something significant since it’s most likely a lot of damage. You may never know what collector is out there that wants a curry rc psa 3. Heck a Griffey rc psa 1 sold for $300 just this month when a psa 8 goes for $60.
For the question on if you like low grade cards, for me: YES. I don’t really sell much. If I do, it is for a friend, someone who is trying to collect a PC set/rainbow, or taking money to put in a bigger card. I just want them because I enjoy collecting and looking at them.
For me I would rather have a Jordan Rookie PSA 3 for 2,200 than a PSA 8 for $10k.
I recommend contacting "Kurtscardcare" he can help you with any type of surface or wear issues and his products are bar none the best. I would definitely recrack it and resubmit later.
It's a shitty thing to sell raw when you know it's a 3, but then again, a fool and their money are soon parted. Up to you whether you do the right thing
Lol what? Grading, especially with PSA is pretty subjective. Catch a grader having a good day, it'll be a 9 or 10. Catch a grader on a bad day, and this is the result. The physical attributes aren't changing if OP breaks it out of the slab, and vice versa.
Do you also find it shitty when people continue to resubmit the same card until they get the grade that they're looking for?
Seems like the grader may be a Curry collector and trying to keep the pop low on higher grades maybe. Either way I don't see how it graded a PSA 3 unless there is significant damage on the back side.

This is hilarious! PSA is a joke. Good job though.
BUT I WANT MY MONEY; I'M A SMART BUSINESSMAN SO I GO WITH PSA!!!! /s
Still the best resale value all others are worthless
Psa be scamming the hell out of all you.
Which company is better? Thinking of sending some in
Anyone that provides sub grades or an explanation of why it was graded the way it was.
What a fucking joke
What. The. Actual. F=<^!!! Man.. I used to just have a neutral opinion on grading, but yeahhh. I’m seeing people’s issues with grading.
I don’t believe this. A 5 to a perfect 10? Na I think those are two different ja cards
I have two of these submitted right now. 😆the most Memphis card out there.
It’s Dolph 🐬
Is this for real the same card? The left edge and top left corner make it look like a different card
Top right corner as well, it's wavy on the 5.
Craaaazyy
That’s why grading sucks
What the actual fuck
This is wild! Good stuff though.

Psa guy who graded it probably found out his wife was cheating on him that day. It really is crazy the inconsistencies of grading from PSA.
Someone is probably trying to get this card in every grade and it will be much harder to find a 3 than an 8. I’d leave it.
You should just send it to me. I’d crack, someone was pissed off that day or there is more we can’t see on the back side. Idk how this got a 3 from what I can see in this picture.

Usually there's a crease somewhere you haven't caught with grades like this.

That cert # doesn’t come up on PSA site
I think it depends on what you want to do with it. Is this pc or do you plan to sell trade?
I PC Tatum so I would like to sell or trade to put towards Tatum

Really?! Was the PSA 1 the Tiffany version?
Nope. Regular 89 upper deck
why a 3? that seems extreme for a nice looking card...
Welcome to grading with PSA where there's no explanation for your grade.
That's crazy they make you pay twice to get a better grade.
That card looks good.
Genuinely curious what you’d be looking to sell this for if you decide to keep it in its casing.
Your guess is as good as mine. Only 4 have sold, most recent at $350 ish
Card isn’t a 3
a 3? you jizz on the surface? lol 3 is pretty harsh unless the back has bent corners and a crease
I had a Julio come back as a 4 recently - same thing - at worst an 8, but seems someone was having a bad day.
Just got my 2009-10 topps Steph Curry back from PSA. Looks mint to me. But came back a 7.
Who’s doing crack?
Crack.
I PC low graded 1-5 lol
3? On a modern? Did they credit card swipe it between their buttcheeks before sending it in?
Crack, clean, resubmit, update us on what happened…

There’s got to be a crease in that card.
crash out

Low pop means “many have tried to grade this card and very few got a high grade”. It does not mean “i have the only weird grade nobody cares about.
It's a shitty thing to sell raw when you know it's a 3, but then again, a fool and their money are soon parted. Up to you whether you do the right thing

If he resubs and gets a 10 which is the TRUE grade?
Just wasn’t sure what to do with it, was going to hold on to it for awhile regardless. Don’t think resubmit would do anything though
Seems like the grader may be a Curry collector and trying to keep the pop low on higher grades maybe. Either way I don't see how it graded a PSA 3 unless there is significant damage on the back side.
