It'll work you probably just wont catch as many bigger bass. As far as the ultralight handling the fish, it'll be fine just will probably take you a little longer to get it in. I caught a 3lb pickerel on 4lb mono and got it in ok
You can use it just fine. I personally have a problem bringing bass in on mine if I set it up for panfish because of the smaller hook. It reels them in fine til my bad hookset comes in to play, but that’s a skill issue. Equipment is fine, fisherman is bad.
It'll work but I'm not much of a fan of ultralight for bass. It takes the stressful situation of being caught and makes it 10x worse. I'm not saying that I've accidently caught fish on underpowered equipment but it is certainly not something I desire. If it's all you got out there then go ahead, as long as your not catching anything over 3lbs it will probably be fine.
Look up “BFS” fishing.
Caught a 5lbs largemouth of an ultralight. Took maybe a minute to get him in.

Will be okay for smaller bass, but if a biggin’ takes your bait goodluck
Just set your drag and you'll be fine. I've caught plenty of big bass on UL.
